I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

It said that we were free to do things in the outside world. Allison definitely went home to pack.
Phone Freak stepped lightly out of the plane, bag letting out a muffled clanking sound as she did. She was still dressed for heavy, cold weather and still wearing her mask. Turning back, she cast a long pointed glance at the military grade jet still kicking up a cloud of debris around her. "Looooooow profile!" she said, giving it a thumbs up. "Got it boss."

She'd been lucky she'd gotten those two days to head back to her workshop and prepare. She'd gathered materials she thought she might need for this job, but as the plan was as yet forthcoming that could be practically anything. It'd also given her a chance to check up properly on this new team, and it had not been pretty. Even if she wasn't a paranoid who guarded her identity like a nucleate launch code she still wouldn't take her mask off in front of some of these people. It was just a bad move letting that type know your face. She'd have to ditch the helmet when they got near Frankfurt, but she figured that by that time she'd have ditched them to. It would be dangerous for her, but they'd probably run into a phone line before they got to the city.

That was all in the future though. Right now she was stepping out to survey the German wilderness. Or the field, at least. "Oh, he's been chugging along." She said to Conrat conversationally. "Around 1871 it all became a single country. Famous for cars, beer, and trying to fight the entire world all at the same time. Twice. But that's all behind them. Now they've settled for being the biggest economy in all of Europe. Which is why the bank we're knocking over is here."
Phoning it in.
Between the mask and the heavy clothes there's no real indication what Phone Freak's gender is one way or the other. I mean, she doesn't have some rolled up socks stuffed down the front of her trousers but from all outward indications she might just be an actual robot.

"Secret Identity" is a concept she takes very seriously.
@SunsetRoses
I like the idea of wizards being able to sense magic if they're looking for it or feeling it if someone does something close enough. So if Dianna used some in Allison's presence she would take a look. She's got other things on her mind so she's not really checking.

Even if Dianna's not looking for it, though, she would definitely know Phone Freak was a mage considering the Presence just announced it to the room.
@SunsetRoses
I was definitely thinking that there was some sort of inner source, and the two are definitely different, but I was thinking that there's this big gulf of difference. The conceit I was working under was that people that had enough magic within them to cast spells with it were basically the royalty of the magic world. Like the reasons most powerful wizards were old dudes with long white beards or haggard old woman was because they'd spent most of their life cultivating that inner store of magic and then went hog wild in their old age. They can do anything they want so long as they spend enough time developing a spell to do it and have sufficient magic to cast that spell and live.

People that didn't want to go through this steady build up tapped other sources of energy to make up the difference, with only a tiny investment of their own power to get the ball rolling resulting in the different classes and sub-classes of magic user. But they're not as free in their casting as someone using their own power because, as they're tapping another source, that source gets some input in what happens. So you can't draw power from fire and then use that power to freeze things. They're bound to theme.

So Allison would have an almost pathetically tiny store of actual raw power compared to Dianna.
Hey @SunsetRoses, how do you imagine magic works in setting? Since both of our characters use it we should make sure our ideas about it are consistent.
It wouldn't need to do anything. The Justice League Expy would mop us up all on their own, and the people that escaped from that would probably be found by agents of The Presence and killed.
I can only assume that was some kind of necromancy seeing as Luciel managed to trigger William as well as Gish.
Phone Freak jumped when the gun popped out of the ceiling, throwing herself under the table as a shot rang out. She stayed down there for a moment before slowly raising herself up over the edge when no more were forthcoming. She noted the lack of any holes in and around her chair, looked up at the gun, then followed its gaze to the kitchen and the smoking hole near the two idiots whom she hadn't even noticed had decided to go in there instead of following some very simple instructions. She breathed a sigh of relief. When that thing had dropped down she'd been convinced it was for her. Her own warning conveyed what she's already discovered, but did contain an interesting tidbit: The Presence had not known what she was trying to accomplish with the door. That was interesting. It was not as all knowing as it made itself out to be.

Wiggle wiggle wiggle...

She crawled up and placed herself gingerly back in her seat, only a little embaressed that she'd moved when so many others hadn't. Regaining her composure, she cleared her throat, and decided to get on with it. "The gunslinging tool has a point, loath as I am to admit it." She said. "There's no assent necessary here. Just entering this room was like signing on the dotted line, so lets skip the bit where we all go Yea and just get to the most important points; freedom and discretion. Are we free to come and go, or are we to be kept cooped up here like good little tin soldiers until you need us? Are we free to tackle missions how we choose, or are you intending to micromanage our efforts?"
