The Shadows of Aeios

Girvus Rynir.
Head of the Rynir House and governor of Awom

Standing in front of a window, the old man that had been the leader of both the High House as well the governor of the Awom province for some time, stared at the scene in front of him. From the high tower, where his study room was located, he had some good view on the fortress of Hials. How the the place was defended and would be protected by two firm and sturdy massive stone walls. The grim expression on his face revealed that the man was thinking about some kind of thoughts. After a few moments, Girvus turned around. ''This damn cold.'' He mumbled, though he was dressed quite with clothes that should keep the cold out, he couldn't help it. Somehow he kept feeling the chill breeze as if he was outside. But he wouldn't blame it on his age. That would be something his pride wouldn't accept. Walking to his desk, the man muttered more curses in the direction of the season that now held the land in her icy claws.

Sitting in his comfortable chair, the old man took out some papers. Mostly letters that had been sent to his address, requiring his attention. Some came from the Senate, one from the Emperor and some others from people he had appointed to govern the settlements that were present in the province. Calmly he took out the one that came from the Emperor. But like he had expected, it was a regular kind of letter. Wanting to know how the province was doing. If it could provide the expected tax. Grunting, Girvus started to write a response. It took him around ten minutes when he was done Putting the response letter away, he started to work on writing a response on the other letters that had been sent to him as well.

However, as he read the last letter, Girvus raised both his eyebrows. ''Oh my...'' He mumbled, slightly surprised at first. It was regarding some rumours popping up and the question what do about it. Knowing from experiences that the commoners always spoke about things they had little experience with, Girvus decided to write another party. The Rangers. Writing a polite letter that he desired that the rumours should be investigated, he hoped that the rumours would either stop and vanish or maybe hear who started it.

Girvus then however didn't stop writing letters. His attention and thoughts were now turned to other people. Writing a letter towards one of his 'agents'. One that had the name of ''Calais Cousland. A member of the Rangers, but one that was loyal to him. A true asset for his own goals, Girvus grinned as he started to write the letter.

I have a rather simple order. I want you to travel towards Deliar and search a few capable men that want to listen to some coin. It seems rumours are starting and I will use it to my advantage. You're ordered to round some group and create some turmoil in the city. Nothing too big, but make the rumours spread faster. I have then a second assignment once you have finished this one.

Clearly not addressing himself, knowing that it would be too risky, he started on another one. One with the name Valfunde Perar, the captain of the city guard of Deliar. And head of the Lesser House of Perar.

I hope you're fine, just as fine when we last exchanged some letters. I heard of several rumours that are maybe making some unrest in the province. As governor, I want to tighten the security. I want you to make sure that there is a going to be a restriction so that the commoners won't start to cause any trouble. Be it restricting them to group in some public areas or arranging that they aren't allowed to be on the streets from a certain time, I care little for it. The Emperor will expect us to keep the provincial capital under control. I will be placing this on you.

With that, Girvus called for a messenger that would make sure that the letters would be delivered. Sitting in his chair for several moments, Girvus rose up and walked again to the window. This time however, his facial expression was plain. ''I wonder..'' He whispered.

There are histories and details written out, as this RP is already quite old. In RP terms. We have written it out by in the alternative forum. If you can't access to it, I would suppose you would first try to make the personality and such and check the history of the village you're going to join when you're able to look up the histories. They can be quite important.

However it is well noted that they were wiped out except for Kimimaro. Would it be possible to have a blood line relation to this Clan?

I am not fond of the KG and rather not see it, cause some already tried their hand at it. I would rather advice some KG-less character to start with. Its easier to move in the RP with a character that can be developed in more ways than a KG character. As the unwritten rules around KG characters limit them and to start with them is not something I would recommend.

Facial appearance are your own choice as long they don't conflict with an existing character. So far nobody really used the same appearance as Zabuza. I can think of Soru Deshuga, but I don't think that wouldn't let it be possible. If you also can't get access to the back up site, I would recommend Chrome or Firefox as browser. ;)

Its worth it. There is a lot of fun things to explore and read on the back up site.

Personality :
Girvus is a rather devious person. It'already shown in his history that he is a very cold and ruthless man. One that is able to act like he is your friend, before making sure you won't see the next sun. Unlike his father and previous head of the Rynir House, Robert of Rynir, Girvus doesn't see much in honor and relevant subjects. He prefers to take something in the most fast way, even if he has to take down a loyal servant. Though this all knowledge known by a very few, seeing that on the outside and to the public Girvus is seen as a kind and very just man. If they knew better.

History :
Born in the High House of Rynir, the High House of Awom, Girvus never had the trouble of needing something. All he asked was delivered. Not to mention he had the best scholars in the province to mentor him and his brothers. But after the young Girvus turned twelve, something changed him. He became interested in some goals. He knew that there was a good chance that some would remain a dream, but even at a young age he was ambitious. But asking for help wouldn't likely get him to achieve his goals, nor demanding them. Thus began the young Girvus his first vile act on the age of sixteen. For it wasn't Girvus to take the seat of Rynir Head after his father would pass. But Girvus slowly would work his way towards it.

The heir to the High House was easily worked out. Girvus poisoned his brother, Irvo, in the night, claiming it was the deed of the brother, Markus. Using the fact that both had a great dislike for each other and Markus constant mumbling that he would show who was the true heir of Robert. With this act, he managed to take out two of his brothers out of the way. All that remained was to get rid of the next sibling, Cecil. The young girl of eighteen years old was now the heir and one step before Girvus. However, Girvus knew he had to be smarter. Cecil didn't had any public enemies or rivals, nor did she had caused any big fuss or trouble in the past. But patient as he was, Girvus waited for his chance. In the end, even the wise may choose a bad decision. And he would be there to lunge at his chance, like a hawk would do on a helpless mouse.

For three years, Girvus waited, plotting in the dark as he acted like he loved his sister. But what ever he tried to find out, he couldn't find something to drive a wedge between daughter and father. Furious by this decision, Girvus then decided to poison his sister and claim it would the vile work of some assassin, maybe an enemy to the House of Rynirs. But on the night he was trying to commit the murder, his sister caught him and avoided her death.

Cecil and Girvus began a three years war of influence on their father. Cecil trying to take out her younger sibling with staying honest and doing what was right. Girvus kept trying to take out his older sister, but to no avail. He wasn't afraid she would try the same things as him, but he was cautious. Cecil had likely figured out that it was Girvus who had caused the downfall of Irvo and Markus.

But finally, Girvus managed to make some success. As Cecil wanted to take a ride, he managed to hide a snake in the horse bag. Later, news would hit that Cecil had died due the snake bite. This was even something Girvus made to his advantage. Worried as his father was, Girvus managed to convince Robert to tighten the guard. Clearly somebody was after their House. Taking heed of the words of his son and next heir, Robert made sure that the forces around Hials would be reinforced. Both in numbers as in equipment. However, soon Robert was dead himself. The causes were unknown, but it didn't last long before Girvus took the seat and claimed he would make sure the Rynir House would get rid of the group that were plaguing their fair noble family. In the next two years, Girvus hang people that he claimed to be part of the devious group that tried to murder out the Rynir House. Thus on the age of twenty four Girvus had secured his seat. And for twenty years he would reign over both the Awom Province as governor as Head of the Rynirs..

Not to be a dick or anything but would you be cool with Kato hearing the shit going down in Kumo? Its not really something that I think Kato would completely do but right now Im looking for an excuse to basically say "Fuck it, we win, I'm leaving."

I think that the ??? group has managed to do it in secret or at least, nobody seem to know about it. So nobody will find out about it, until its too late. After all, the group moved in with stealth.

It looks fine with me, but I remember that water whip is a high ranked technique. Something that Hillan said in the past when somebody else tried to get water whip approved in their CS.

A regular day.

A collab between Shadowcatcher and Gerontis,

Summary :
Richard coming home from a hunt and Breena dealing with a customer.

The Collab

The snow was something he didn't mind, unlike some other hunters he knew. Mitch calmly was walking beside his master, his tongue out of his mouth. With a few rabbits, that they had managed to hunt down and even a badger, Richard was not all too disappointed. The season meant that his chance of a good profit by hunting or setting traps was lower than usual. But he had managed to catch a decent hunt with Mitch. ''Almost home.'' He mumbled as he kept walking through the snow. Soon the gates of the fortress of Hials was visible.

Breena took a deep breath as she fought back the urge to punch her client in the face. Despite the weather, which she loved, she was getting an abnormally high amount of requests and pickups today. She debated closing up shop early, but it was not her call to make. She sat back in her chair as she looked up at the angry man, her arms and legs crossed, she was the perfect picture of a woman at ease. "Are you done?" she asked him after he had seemed to have his fill of screaming at her. "Your wife asked me to have her clothes done by high noon, which i did. She asked me to add wildflowers to the bow at the back, which I did, and she also told me that when she would come pick them up, she would pay the price we agreed on. Now, i dont know what you plan to accomplish here...barging in like a brute with no home training, but let me tell you this." she stood then and leaned towards him, a hand placed on the table that seperated the two individuals.

"Get out of my shop. Do not return unless you bring me my money. If i see your face around here again, i'll have all the dresses burned do you understand? How do you think she would feel if that happened?" she asked. Her voice was soft, as she did well to mask her anger, though her eyes showed her true emotions. With a huff the man left, slamming the door behind him. Sighing, Breena turned around and laughed lightly. That was about the most fun i've had in a long time. she thought as she went to start on a different order.

Walking through the streets, that were cleaned of the snow, Richard was close on getting home. Seeing a man slamming the door of the building he was approaching, Richard bumped with his shoulder against the man, who seemed to be angry about something. Only turning around, Richard locked his eyes with the man, who was almost a head taller. After a moment, the man muttered something before walking away. Not directly turning around, Richard sighed as he then went towards the tailor shop. Opening the door, Mitch walked inside as his tail started to wiggle. ''Love?'' Richard said, closing the door behind him, as well trying to clean his boots from any snow that was still attached to them.

When she heard her husband walk in, Breena was in the back room working some fabric into a dye. She had on gloves that went up to her elbows, and though they had started off brown, there was not a place on the pair that showed the original color. She called a small "Hello." before returning to her work, careful not to let the liquid splash into the nearby barrels that held the other various colors. A few moments passed before she spoke again. "Did you see that bloke that stormed out of here? Please tell me you smashed in his head. You wouldn't believe the manner in which he spoke to me." she said shaking her head.

Hearing her voice, he assumed she was working in the back room. ''No, I haven't smashed his head in. Would a glare be enough?'' He called back, walking to through the shop, almost to the door that would give him enter to the back of the building, their living space. He would need to store the profit of his hunt so that he could later skin it and then see what he would save for themselves or sell to the market. "A glare?" she called. "I would have tripped him at least. I tell you, the men these days have such little respect for women." the last part was muttered to herself as she wrung out the fabric, twisting the dye out of it. She carefully brought it over to the back door which she pushed open with her shoulder. Squealing as a gust of air whipped at her face, she suddenly remembered it was winter and she couldn't hang the clothes outside. She turned to look at the clothes drying inside and scowled. They were still wet. "Honey...would you give me a hand when you get the chance?" she called.

Hearing her, his hand was at the door handle. Turning around, his hand still at the handle, he was chuckling. ''Only one hand?'' He called back, amused. Placing the bounty of the hunt on the ground, he glanced in the direction of Mitch. The Irish wolfhound simply lay down, looking at his owner with his big eyes. But Richard went towards where he had heard the sound of his wife. ''Coming.'' He more mumbled as he then noticed her with the clothes. ''What can I do for you, milady?'' Richard asked, trying to mask his amusement

She gestured with her head to the rope that sat on the floor. "Could you get that rope...attach it to the beam over there on the left, and tie it to the other rope where the clothes are hanging." she told him. "I forgot that i cannot hang the clothes out to dry so i need to cram them al in here." she said while looking around to see where else she could hang clothes.

Nodding, he moved to the rope. Picking up the rope, he looked at the beam that his wife mentioned. When she told that she had forgottent that she couldn't hang them outside, he chuckled, but said nothing. Doing as she wanted, Richard glanced at her. ''Where is Alicia?'' He asked her, wondering where she was. After he was done, he took a step back to give Breena the required space she would need, as well waiting for her answer.

"She has gone outside to play, though i have not seen her come back in a while. I'm sure she's alright." she said, standing on her toes to lay the dark blue fabric over the rope. She smiled and waitind for him to start worrying or something. "I think she should be close by if you want to go look for her." she said. Turning to face her husband, she was about to say something else when she heard the bell of the door opening. Sighing, she walked out past Richard and saw the man from before.

"I do hope you've returned with my money. My husband is home this time around and i'm sure he wouldn't like you using a tone with me." she warned. "I have your money. Now just hurry up give me my order." he mumbled something under his breath after throwing a sack of coins on the table. "Thank you. One moment." she said, walking back to a different room where the finished orders were kept. Grabbing the three dressed and wrapping them in a tarp, she returned and handed him the clothes. "Thank you. Please tell your wife i said hello." she added with a smirk, hands on her hips. She watched triumphantly as he left.

Hearing the bell, Richard let her pass him and kept out of sight as he did listened to the conversation. Mitch also kept himself quit, though his tail wasn't wiggling when Breena spoke to the customer. As soon as the man had left, Richard came around the corner as he saw how the man was walking away. ''So, how was your day so far?'' He asked, looking now in her direction. Though he wished to see where Alicia was hanging out or what kind of trouble she was stirring up, he would believe his wife when she told him that she was alright and nearby.

"My day has been rather busy, surprisingly. I wonder if its because Edlund and Edna stepped out for a bit. I'm sure when they returen, things will go a bit more smoothly." she said with a small smile. "How about you. Did you have a good hunt with Mitch? He appears to be in high spirits." The question of her made Mitch's tail wiggle again, but likely because he had heard his name. His head rose up from the ground as the lips revealed his wolfish grin, letting out his tongue. Richard sighed as he remembered he had placed down the bounty of the hunt. Picking it up, he answered her question. ''I am doing well. So far it went decent. Not too much I can complain about.'' He straighten his back as he looked back at her.

''So, what are your plans for today?'' He asked, being curious what she had on her list to do or if she had some free time.

"Play in the snow of course. And, i expect you to join me." she said as she went back to continue dyeing the fabrics. This time she went to a light pink colored dye and prepared to use it. "Why do you ask?" A chuckle was the first respons of Richard as he slowly walked away. ''Cause I was wondering if you were still up for that.'' He said back, walking to store the catch away, so that he could later spent the evening on skinning the animals.

Well, having conferred with Crome by PM's about my CS, He thought it acceptableand since they are Rangers of the same Corps, why wouldn't they be similar?and I've not read any of the Ranger Apprentices, I merely liked the image..but since it meets not with your standards, I'll take it down and re work it when I have time too.

Though Roro is quite good with GMíng, he doesn't always mean anything with a passive aggressive tone. He can overreact in some cases. If you like the picture, keep it. As long as nobody has it for their character image, it should be fine. (If it also makes some sense, that is ;) )

The Event, one step from fully going on.

Though I have decided to not unleash the full extent of the event, due some teams training and such, I will soon post for the Kumo, Konoha and Amegakure group and their situation. For now, those who can (Ame and Konoha) can literally react to the situation if they were close enough or have another plausible reaction. Kirigakure can launch their action now as soon Kumo will notice what will happen next.
