We were annoyed, just not enough to tear him apart cuz the whole "wah Spam's not as good as it used to be" thing is so old and tiresome that it's just not worth it. But there's a big difference between that and "everyone being understanding and offering a helping hand".

All the theorizing that there was something else at play is what made me say the "Understand and offering to help". Which in this case I think may have just been a cultural difference, normally when I see people dissecting a deeper issue/cause they are by extension offer some hand of support and aid to the person (unless if said dissected person is completely absent from the discussion), but with spam it seems to be just dissection and no extended offering of help as I'm used to seeing suggested elsewhere.

How is it when I first came back into spam everyone went super hostile on me but when 8 outright attacks/insults the entire community everyone seems calm, understanding and wanting to help him? :/

But note I also have a friend who legitimately think's he's a fox trapped in a human body.
And his dream is to invent AI for the sole purpose of converting his brain into computer code in order to upload into a Robotic Fox Body.

And then he and a legion of AI Robot Foxes all go to Mars and colonize it all for themselves.
