You followed me all the way to my Bio? Well... Now we must drop it.

That would fall under the 'niche' thing I referred to first.

Magic Magnum said Obviously in an RP made around activism an outright feminist would fit in.But activism probably wouldn't be an appealing topic to most people, I can only see that facing a very niche target.A target that get's even more niche because to avoid players all wandering off on their own protests they'd all have to be focused on the same charity or cause.

It can work, but you're bound to only reach a very small portion of the Roleplay audience being interested in such a thing.
As for players wandering off, that becomes an issue though if the player now either leaves the RP (You're down a player) or they are posting about entirely unrelated things... Essentially spamming/squeezing two different RP's into one.

But like I said, an Activism based roleplay can work, it's just that it's target audience will be very small.
For everyone else it will just be causing characters to halt story progression and stretch it in different directions.

Kestrel said Judging from your avatar you should know all about employing censorship as a form of activism.

Yea, me making a joke with my Avatar obviously means I am an individual you would instantly know about X event... Great reasoning.

For the record, I did know about that. But your process of determining that is just awful.

Kestrel said Also the reason I call you a narrow-minded jerk isn't for having a different opinion. It's mostly for generalising. And the LOLFREE SUX-topic.

1. You're now carrying conflict across topics, that's a big no-no by forum standards.

2. That was one topic, the fact you called it a 'Trend' implies multiple cases. Which naturally suggests you are referring to this as being narrow minded. Where the only thing I've done that could (somewhat) warrant that is disagreeing with you.
I figured, but this was about me personally so I figured it might pass as a Blog Post which are allowed in members lounge.
That, and if I posted this in spam I'd probably get people thinking this is actual, honest opinions I have. And then causing a fight over it.

That's definitely a possibility. Peter Dinklage would be damn expensive. But not $500 million worth.

The F2P bigger community though honestly depends on the game I find, you get your horrid cases like League of Legends. But then cases like Planetside where everyone can co-operate and pull out huge raids.
(Inserted "This is a joke!" disclaimer here incase an Admin or Mod feels this needs to be moved to spam)

Q: Are you a Fedora Tipping Neckbeard?
A: Yes I am a Fedora Tipping Neckbeard.
Q: When did you become a Fedora Tipping Neckbeard?
A: The day I discovered the wild evils of... Feminism.
Q: Why have you done this.
A: For the pride of men everywhere.
Q: When will it stop.
A: Once men are fully recognized for the importance and status we hold.
Interesting.
I'm curious about what kind of plot/conflict we can get in such a 'perfect' world, but consider me in. :)

How could it possibly have functioned as F2P? The production cost of this game was *ludicrous*. They should've..... what, done that for zero money?....sorry. I fucking hate F2P. Hate hate hate. It's bayuddddd. I pay subscriptions happily in Elder Scrolls Online, if only to keep out the F2P would-be players. No regrets.

From what it looks like, 8 hours of story, 10 maps? There's no way that cost near the amount of money they put into it.
I guarantee you the majority of that money is being put into things such as DLC stuff they could more than make their money back from by selling individually.

Or if their micro-player transactions works so well, use the DLC as a way to update the game and keep players engaged. Just like Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer DLC, that shit was 100% free. But it kept people playing and buying the packs with real money.

F2P allows a much larger player base to come in, a lot more people to play the game, a lot more people to keep the community alive and active.
So when coupled with a online marketplace for stuff such as better loot rolls, experience boost packs, or even say just skins to customize one's appearance you're audience is far bigger. A lot more people are willing to fork out 5-10 dollars for this new skin, then another 5 for this starter kit, then another skin etc rather than a full up 60.

Often times players end up spending more than the 60 anyways, such as say Planetside. I've blown at least 80-100 dollars into skins, deco's and weapon variants. And I'm considered minor compared to some of the hardcore players. A lot of those hardcore players, may have never tried the game out if they had to pay 60 up front. Or may have left way earlier if the 60$ fee was causing the player community to be much smaller.
I'd suggest making a hider list of all the characters in the OP so it's easier for people to find and keep track of.
Also, reposting CS's with a little bit added to give a peek into their personalities without hard-wiring it in.

Name: Cortez

Team: Red Team

Other: Main fighting style is twin pistols, smgs or spikers. Like's to take charge of people and situations, lots of drive and attitude.
Name: Agno

Team: Blue Team

Other: Preference of Battle Rifles and DMRs. Prefer's calm and quiet situations, but has a quick temper when things go to shit.
Heroic said Also, I want everyone to know that I won't be the sole GM. We will all GM our own things a bit, and make decisions as a group. That's the way we do it in my other roleplay, and it's been going in for about 2 years straight, nonstop, so I feel like it is a great idea.

That works with me. I've seen too many RP's die because the one person with authority ends up vanishing, or get's power hungry and kills the RP in some sort of power play or need to establish dominance.
Stealing a ship is outright illegal and would count as terrorism to start. That automatically adds value because it's an illegal act and most likely harming people.

Facility Interrupting a speech... All that's doing is stopping someone from talking.
Now, any DM or Player can make any topic work with the right effort but flat out going "Let's stop this person from talking, that will make the RP Interesting" isn't probably such a good call.

And my point with the Baby Seals is that while a major plot point is going on, the player/character is focused on something completely separate/unrelated to the RP. Essentially ignoring the RP for their own things. Having a character care about baby seals is fine, having an RP about baby seals is fine. But running off ignoring the Roleplay because of Baby Seals is not fine. That's not a matter of "Your character has to be Z because I'm angry at X", that's a matter of an RP is a group effort and players should be expected to focus on the RP, not completely stop, de-rail or ignore it.

Kestrel said tl;dr Stop being such a narrow-minded jerk. It's becoming a recurring theme with you.

Yup, a difference of opinion totally means me being a jerk... Great reasoning.
