Note/Disclaimer: Now being totally honest with you (You guys deserve honesty upfront), this is a reposting of an old RP we had that died out when the old DM went poof.
The previous DM had made two attempts with this RP, so this attempt will be attempt number 3. Number 3 being overseen by me and some others who were in the last RP.
A lot of this Interest Check is a re-post from last time, but I made my own notes where needed.
So just please be aware coming in that this is an RP that is being attempted multiple times.
This is our current OOC since originally we were just trying to revive it with old members. But enough of them never actually came around to posting in the OOC that I felt it necessary to make an Interest Check to get some new/fresh players involved instead.

Mission Goal:The UNSC Wayward Wanderer is to make way at best speed for Omega Titanius System. Upon arrival, Wayward Wanderer will serve as support station for UNSC Marine Special Operations Detachment Ghost. Additional mission parameters will be revealed by UNSC Office of Naval Intelligence Field Operative Commander Samantha Aldridge. Supreme command authority has been granted to Office of Naval Intelligence Field Operative Commander Samantha Aldridge for this mission.
Expected Resistance:The Office of Naval Intelligence Central Command Operatives report minimal resistance in wake of the Covenant obliteration of Omega Titanius III. However, ONI deep space surveillance buoys have detected minor subspace disturbances in nearby space, possibly caused by Covenant patrol ships.
Additional Support:UNSC Wayward Wanderer has been allocated 1(one) new D79H-TC Pelican Heavy-Troop Carrier for field testing.

(OOC Introduction)
Alright! Now that I’m pretty well acclimated to the new forums here, I really want to get things going again. Some of you may have been involved with the previous incarnation of this RP at the old forums, and while that one fizzled and died, I feel like it’s worth a second attempt. I think I have a pretty good grasp of why it failed last time, and understand what is needed to see it succeed this time.
Firstly, I have a lot more time on my hands to spend writing, and progressing the story forward. Secondly, I realize that things stalled when they were getting good, due to my reluctance to move on, without offering everyone a chance to write for their character. This time, I will afford players the chance to respond, but won’t wait nearly as long to dictate for them in the event of their absence. I want things to progress as much as everyone else, and will ensure that it does, regardless. I will however, do my best to portray player characters to the best of my ability, and in a manner in sync with their creators wishes.
Finally, I also understand that a big part of an enjoyable RP is seeing our characters have their moments to shine, and that a good way to really get into an RP, is to see those moments early on. That’s why I’ve re-tooled the beginning of this RP to start off with a bang, that will really draw everyone in immediately. We want to see our characters behaving heroically, and this time, you won’t have to wait long to see this happen.
Now, as in the past, I see this as a squad based RP, in which this group of soldiers will work together to achieve a specific mission or mission objectives. Each particular mission will be sectioned off into an “Episode”, and at the beginning of each Episode there will be an opportunity to include new or future characters. This gives everyone the chance to ditch a character if they’ve grown bored of them, or to bring new ones into the fold if they’re really enjoying things. This also gives you the chance to determine the ultimate fate of your characters, IE if they live, or if they die.
Additionally, running this RP in an episodic manner allows me to better tailor moments to each of your characters. Again, we all want to see our characters shine, and I welcome potential story arcs and ideas that can be explored. That is, as long as they fit within the overall narrative of the Halo universe, and don’t interfere too harshly on what can be considered canon Halo lore. Also, so long as it doesn’t interfere too harshly with the general direction that I’ve laid out for this RP, and our group of soldiers.
Ideally, I’d really like the primary characters of this RP to be ODSTs, which are Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.
My/Group WordsIn addition to what our previous DM said me and others have also made observation in the second attempt we found didn't work out so well.
Mainly last time the DM got a horde of interest, and as a result got a horde of people. This practically forced players to get divided up, which did hurt some of the engagement and ability to players to interact with one another. We also started out the mission with everyone dropping separately, which made a lot of players have to be my themselves for a bit which also slowed down engagement. So the main goals/alterations for this time are to keep it to a lower player limit, and keep players close to each other more often in order to encourage more interaction.
As a personal note from solely myself though, I also think part of it may have been the long amount of effort and detail that had to be invest into each post. Typing 2-3 paragraphs basically to accomplish killing a few grunts, and the firefight still lasting for a while longer. Things went fairly slow, so I'm either going to try to focus on speeding up fights or on lowering the post demands/requirements so people can get to the plot and action more quickly/consistently. I'd like player feedback though as to which approach you want me to take in this regard.

To give you an idea of what these guys are. In essence, they’re the Airborne Paratroopers of the future. They’re the very best of the best that the Marines have to offer. They’re often times the first to fight, and they’re generally fearless in the face of death. So when you’re thinking of your primary character for this RP, think ODST first.
However, I am willing to accept non-ODST characters as alternate characters. Though I will not be accepting any Spartans for this RP, as I’ve state that I want to keep this relatively canonical. ONI operatives, or Navy personnel, and so on, those are perfectly acceptable.
NOW Before any of this can happen, I first need to see if there is even an interest in a new Halo RP.
