this is the most unnecessary thing I've seen in a while

Sorry, I prefer to answer someones question when they ask it.
It's only the polite thing to do.

I wonder if there's been animes in which there's both English-speaking characters and Japanese-speaking ones, but instead of having different voice actors so that all of them are speaking one language at a time, the linguistic division is clear within the show's characters themselves and there's only subtitles for the characters depending on whether it's in Japan or English speaking countries. Japanese subtitles for English-speaking characters in the Japanese airings and English subtitles for Japanese-speaking characters in the American airings.

It's a cool concept, but that'd be a lot of money thrown at voice actors to cover 2 languages like that.
You'd also need to explain why a conversation is going on in two different languages.

Halo said Not anymore.

I mean this in a curious way, not a hostile way. But if it's not fun anymore then why are you still here?
Edited.

Yes... :(
I'll go back and edit the post now.
They generally seem to be more natural and in place with the movies.
Most animes it's fairly obvious the english was done on top and focused on a child audience.

Miyazaki movies tend to not give that feeling for me, it seems to belong and seems to fit an adult audience too.
Granted, the Japanese voice acting is probably still better in most cases. But the english is passable to the extent you can definitely enjoy it (in my mind) in english without missing much, unlike most animes.

Does anyone else feel like character driven roleplays never seem to get very far? I feel like story is what keeps people interested in the rp not just the characters.

Not really.
But then again I see characters and story as one and the same.
You need good characters to drive a good story.

You're going to get bias answers by asking spam directly, cause it's going to be all the people who stay in spam because they find it fun.

To try to answer your question as neutrally as possible though?

It depends. Do you like somewhat random, non-focused lollygagging fun on the forums which sometimes leads to serious talks and a supportive community?
You'll probably have fun.

Do you prefer more of a focus and direction? May it be overall theme or simply doing an action with people (ex: Having an RP, Playing team death match, debating X etc.)? If so you'll probably have more fun elsewhere.

Plus popularity levels do exist here, so you have to be willing to either play the popularity game a bit. Or simply be able to tolerate it being around and be able to deal with any criticism given for not playing it. If having such a thing around isn't your cup of tea (Though, let's be honest. Everywhere that people gathers deals with popularity in one sense or another) then once again you might have more fun elsewhere.

Either way though, welcome. :)
And I hope you have fun may you choose to stay or go somewhere else.
When Gwazi woke up it was bright as day, expect with no sun due to being underground with glowing mushrooms. Yawning from still being tired he slowly sat up, lying his back against the trunk of the glowing mushroom he was sleeping under. For such a chaotic and barbaric world with so many deadly roleplay adaptations it was surprising how easy and safe it was to just sleep in the open like this. Or maybe he was just lucky? He thought about it briefly while packing up his stuff for nothing more than to occupy his head with something, but right when he was finishing he could hear a high, loud yet quick scream. That normally meant some sort of trouble, so he grabbed his sword and began to wander in the direction of the scream.

"Those combat RPs definitely have their uses now" he thought to himself in regards to the sword he had. If he were back in the real world he'd be completely hopeless in a fight, but in this world? He was rather skilled at it, if for nothing more than that many of his characters were. "Shame I couldn't get those magical powers too... Air, Electric and Fire manipulation, Shapeshifting, Super Strength? Something at least" he continued to think to himself while heading towards the noise. Then again, maybe he did have those powers but just had to unlock them? Because he could entertain that thought further he noticed what the source of the noise was, two girls had apparently gained the attention of some... What was that? It looked like a rat, but huge... and had parts resembling bug. "I'll just call it a bug rat" he thought to himself while observing the situation from a safe distance. He had no way to really tell who the girls were, who if they were the victims or the harassers yet. So not wanting to attack a potentially innocent party he chose to wait, he climbed up the nearest mushroom and watched from above. His plan being to jump down on whoever exposed themselves to be the guilty party, assuming this conflict was going to lead to violence in the first place that is.
