No. The way I see it is that if I need to hide my interests from people that I know then I'm wasting my time by hanging out with them anyways.

And oddly enough, by doing so I had actually learned that one of the friends I made at college was in fact a former member of the RP Guild. Though had apparently left a long time ago due to issues with the community.

As the ratbug began to run away Gwazi pulled his sword back out quickly as to not lose it to being lodged into the creature. Looking at it the sword was covered in ratbug blood "Nasty..." he thought to himself before grabbed a cloth to start cleaning off his sword with. He wasn't even sure if stuff like having to maintaining your weapon even existed in such a fantasy world, but it was always safer not to take that chance and run into battle with a dull blade. As he sat down and cleaned his blade though he was curious about how the rat seemed to compare him to the girls, so he looked up at them and asked "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly was that... ratbug, trying to do?".

They normally do at some point. It's just a matter of getting what discussion we can out of it before someone asks the mods to close it.

Yes, and no. One way to interpret it all is an "appeal to force". Morality is a series of appeals to force (you steal, you get arrested). God has all the force, he gets to decide what's right and wrong. I don't particularly agree with this line of thinking, but it technically would reconcile theism and moral relativism.What I gathered from reading the bible is that "social morals" (IE, what's socially acceptable or legal) are relative, while "divine morals" are not. Basically, society runs in circles morally (what was acceptable 100 years ago is not today, and what is acceptable today will not be acceptable 100 years into the future). God's considered a static point by which society is judged, as opposed to the other way around.

That does seem to be how Religion looks at and defines morality, looking at the all "How are you moral if you don't believe in God?" crap that get's spewed.
I could go on forever arguing why Religions interpretation of Gods and Morals is messed up. But that would do nothing to change how religion sees god, nor would there too much point cause morality is always subjective no matter who you look at, so I'd basically be arguing on the basis of my own subjective morality.

The problem with the claim that Christ is good, but Christianity or the Christian God is not is this:1) Jesus and God mutually approve of everything the other does. For that matter, they actually don't act that different per say. Old Testament God isn't really that vengeful (for example, in the book of Judges, he repeatedly forgives the nation for its own transgressions and seems to have an attitude of "I'll always take you back"), nor was Christ/New Testament God really all that merciful (in the book of revelation, he kills innumerable amounts of people. In fact, he's possibly more violent during this period of time than old testament God ever was)2) Christians seek to be like Jesus. If you have complaints about the ways Christians generally behave, but have no such complaints with Christ, then your complaint is more that they aren't Christian enough.

1) If we go the route that God and Jesus are the same person, then it's not they approve all of what the other does. It is the same person doing all of it. But if we go the Jesus is the son of God route, perhaps. But it theoretically it's also possible that behind the scenes they disagree with some of each others actions, but it's nothing something they dare show humanity. As for OT vs NT, there's a lot of scriptures in both that can be used to reinforce he was a violent sadist or that he was a forgiving saint. But such variance and inconsistency is what tends to happen the book is written by a ton of sand people who were not ever allowed to alter one anothers work. That or god is bipolar.

2) Not really. Most atheists I run into to tend to say "You Christians are awful, but Jesus was kind of decent" still disagree with Jesus in regards to if Christianity is true. They just find Jesus to generally be a more decent and moral person than most Christians are, so it's basically another way of them saying "I wish you Christians were more moral".

True, but Christianity/The Bible constantly acts like it does.
And if it did, then God and Jesus themselves would be seen as immoral.

That keys scene was one of the things I meant when I said they definitely had emotional breakdowns, but weren't quite intimidating.
Plus the whole 'Hold an item of importance hostage' routine is very common in shows where a character is that depressed.

And I guess I don't get intimidated by the Doctor because I can sympathize. He get's angry when trying to protect people, I would get the same way so it's more something I respond to in a "I get that" manner rather than a "That scares me" manner.

Personally I found Forest of the Night to be a bit annoying just from the fact the kids no only seemed completely unimpressed with the TARDIS and all around clueless outside of where a love affair was concerned.

Kill the Moon just bugged me really cause of the girl they dragged along. She just seemed out of place and whole "Praise me doctor!" the entire time. Plus I just couldn't fathom why the doctor randomly showed a nagging girl the TARDIS too. He normally doesn't let people inside unless if he plans to travel with them as a companion, or hes try to get people to safety or back home.

The Catholics in my area like to claim they're not Christian at all but rather a different religion altogether.
It's rather cute watching them get mad when they're called Christians.

And yea, most people Christians I've found either get furious when you point to the Bible or they're the casual kind who don't listen to the Bible anyways so it holds zero weight to them.

I'll note I'm mainly exposed to Catholicism in RL and mainly to Protestant on the Internet.
But what he changed was:

-God essentially seeing us as grown ups and leaving. According to other branches I've seen he never left, he still looms/watches over us expecting praise and belief or we'll be sentenced to hell forever (or if you're a casual, if you're simply not a good person).

-He forgives us for all that we did and will do. Now, if this is strictly in reference to the Cross than this isn't a change. But if he's referring to general behaviour (which is a contradiction himself. If he died for all our sins at the cross, they would have no fear to enter hell) there's still some sort of condition for God to forgive you. Generally being simply asking for forgiveness or becoming a christian. A low requirement mind you, but still a requirement. He's not forgiving atheists, jews, muslims etc. who dismiss that he exists and therefore don't ask for his forgiveness for things.

-Plus the obvious contradiction of, if God or Jesus (even if we go with the 'they're separate individuals' approach) truly said the things and committed the acts shown in the bible
they are by any moral persons standards not good people, but very terrible and cruel people. But like I said, this is more of a contradiction. Since most Christians either turn a blind eye to this and call them good people, or simply don't read the bible to begin with so they have no idea who they're actually worshipping.

I honestly could just tell from the start what he was doing considering it was a directly follow up on the last episode, you say exactly what happened beforehand, you've seen Clara do the bluff before, and you know she's both good at it and has fun doing it...

Plus I may have missed the fact they added her face to the Intro.

But yea, I totally get how she's turning into the Doctor personality wise. I just didn't ever think she was a literal time lord in disguise.
(And now I have the transformers theme playing in my head, only the lyrics are "Companions, Time Lords in disguise", which kind of does work for Donna at least ).
Except the for the "Both are terrifying when angry" thing. Maybe I just don't get freaked out or intimidated easily but I can't remember a time when I'd call them terrifying. Definitely moments when they had some emotional breakdown (which are the moments I assume you're talking about) but not terrifying.

But yea, her constant lying is worrying. Especially when you consider that companions of the doctor have a history of bad things happening to them, not necessarily end unhappy or miserable mind you, but concerning none the less...

Rose & Mickey= Stuck in another Universe, but considering the people with she's probably the best off of so far.
Captain Jack = Given his previous experience before the Doctor he was probably good at coping with a lot. But he had to deal with being unable to ever die while watching everyone he knows die, and being thrown into an unknown time out of the blue, and have no idea about how his immortality happened for a while because he was basically abandoned by the Doctor.

And having watched a season of Torchwood, he is definitely a lot more cruel and calculating (though still a good person and the same Jack whovians know and love) when the Doctor isn't around. Which granted is pretty confirmed not to be the doctors fault, just that Jack puts up an act around the Doctor so he doesn't have to see that side of him, but he clearly doesn't just brush things off easily like the show might have you think.

Martha = Least damaged in terms of what directly happened, but also least good on top (Like how Rose found her dad and a proxy doctor) but her life still clearly impacted by being rejected by the doctor and having her eyes opened to the dangers of the universe,
Donna = Memory wipe, and her parents have to be extremely careful not to say anything to reminder her of what was wipe or they'd kill her.
Amy & Rory= Stuck back in time. Still happy mind you cause Rory, but they still got separated from everyone else they knew and would have had to deal with a lot of technology and social norms they were used to no longer existing.
River = Has to deal with seeing the love of her life slowly forgetting who she even is until ultimately he doesn't recognize her at all.

Considering the number of "I'm going to cover myself in______" kinks out there I don't doubt that someone would find it sexy.
But why she was doing it when alone with you is odd... Unless if she was trying to turn you on that is.
