And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

As Freya instantaneously dumped Harol's idea of using a carriage, he almost started defending the thought he had had. However, she did have a point. Even though the villagers might be used to carriages heading towards house Clasz, they would still notice them. And then she raised another valid point: Harol's tattoo did stick out like a sore thumb. "Although I am on no wanted poster as of yet, you are correct that my tattoo does draw attention. I did not have the opportunity to grab my ritual hood with me, but I should...", Harol spoke and reached for the back of his robe. There he pulled out some oddly shaped piece of fabric and placed it on his head.

"They can still see my tattoo from the front, that I cannot help. This rain hood is too large to cover it alone, as it is supposed to protect other headgear if the need arises as well and as we can see, I have none of that other headgear at this moment." Harol then continued clinking onwards, still making sure that Freya could keep up to the speed with her wound. She seemed to have no trouble though, and if Harol did not know they had just participated in a dangerous battle for their lives, he could have bet that Freya was actually rather happy right now. Might be the season, makes everything appear cheerful.

Wearing the hood felt rather odd to be honest. It was for rainy weather, and now the sun blazed with all it's might, although said might was not all that much considering it was not summer yet. Nevertheless, no rain anywhere to be seen, but he still had to wear it. Eh, runners can't be choosers. Harol reached for his waterskin and after a few minutes of trying with one hand and moving simultaneously, he managed to take a sip of water. How much longer would it be until sundown? Would they make it through the village today? They could not stay the night there, that was for sure.
I would post, but as the racial bonus of the Insectoids is still a matter of debate I am afraid I cannot utilize my turn to the best efficiency if I rush it. The Second Dominion is all about efficiency compared to the first one, so I would do wrong to my people if I did that.
I have reported in the thread a couple times already, and according to you it was satisfactory... oh well, guess I'll have to PM you then. I'll be right back, sending a message.

I'm also waiting for pm confirmation..

Let the group grow by one more member. I, too, am waiting.
I would like to ask about the average galactic year.
Theodorable said The average galactic year (AGY) is about 3,125

3,125 what?

And as another thing, I have yet to receive the stats of the Second Dominion, so I cannot start on the IC as of yet.
I have a proposition for the Insectoid bonus: Having colonization cost less on already "easy" to inhabit planets, as in no real terraforming or playing around with the atmosphere required.

So, an earth like planet would cost possibly 1 point, while the harder cases would still be two. Maybe expand on this and allow insectoids to settle on a little harsher environments? That might be too much, but this is my idea.

12 Civilizations in the IC, though 1 may be inactive. Hekazu. There are 3 on the waiting list. I apologize for any who are waiting. So when you you'll get kind of an overview of what the solar system looks like, but you'll need to a before you truly know anything about it. Some worlds are more evident than others -- a terran world will obviously have a breathable atmosphere.

Nope, still here. As I wrote when asked. Well, it was short so I can see how one might overlook it, but I am present nevertheless.
The Second Dominion of Oz'Kavosh is ready to spread their operations onto new planets.
My sheet should be done. Hopefully. Waiting for review.
Name of Race:
-- Kughar

Name of Civilization:
-- Second Dominion of Oz'Kavosh

Name of Homeworld:
-- Oz'Kavosh

Base:
-- Insectoid

Stat Placement:
-- Toughness: 2
Their exoskeleton is somewhat stronger than human bone, but once it cracks a Kughar will be highly incapacitated, especially if it breaks in a limb.
-- Reproduction: 4
Let's face it: Kughar are insects, and boy do they reproduce fast. Their breeding happens in cycles, and four times a year they gather to breed. It is a celebration and a week of global holiday, and after that the specially trained Kughar take care of all the eggs that were produced. Not every single one of them hatches, but when each female produces around 30... Sometimes the race even eats some of their offsprings due to the space constraints, but now that FTL was discovered... They will fill colonies just fine too.
-- Industry: 2
The industry of the Second Dominion is nothing spectacular, although it is more worker than machinery based. As of late, one corporation took the risky step into arms dealing, and is the clear number one in the business for now. The said company is Antic corporation, specialized in missiles, torpedoes and other spaceship mounted explosives.
-- Psyche: 1
It is rare for a Kughar to even think of opposing the dominion... but it has happened, as evidenced by the name "Second dominion". Nobody suspected a thing either.
-- Morale: 1
Kughar do not exactly cope well with defeat, and will easily get angry over it. Fighting in a losing position is also almost impossible for them. They do not fear the enemy... but in their enraged state they fight extremely poorly and have trouble following orders.

Brief Planetary History:
-- The raise to dominance the Kughar species went through was a simple one: they had no real competition. On their home planet Oz'Kavosh only a few species can hope to survive, as it is unusually cold for an inhabited planet. The Kughar species however adapted to this quicker than any other and thus claimed their seat on the top of the food chain. Although when the food chain consists mainly of the few plants that manage in the environment without wilting off, the top is not that awfully hard to reach. When Kughar started developing some real intelligence though, they found out that beneath the ground everything was warmer and nicer, so they dug in. All the years within their home planet have grown several self-illuminating bulbs onto their exoskeleton, including an extra noticeable one hanging on a cord like appendage, much like the light on many deep-sea fishes on planet earth (not that they'd know about that). In addition to this, some genius noticed that when mixing certain body fluids with different chemicals resulted in rather potent rock dissolvant, nothing kept the Kughar from digging deeper.

However, the species slowly grew too big to live in smaller civilizations. Luckily for the Kughar, their base nature is to resolve things without fighting it off the second stuff happens, so from everywhere around Oz'Kavosh the Kughar united under the flag of the Oz'Kavoshian Dominion. There was no clear ruler, but the people voted for pretty much everything and Democracy reigned. However, after a couple decades of peaceful living, the First Dominion was overthrown by Ez-Ara, who then formed the new leading system of the Second Dominion and the stepped down to ensure the system works as intended, as she feared she'd use the power wrong if she was not only a bystander monitoring the correct behaviour of the system.

Then again, the population continued to grow and technology continued to advance. The Kughar did notice that they were simply running out of space and raw materials on their home rock, so they did their best to build a spaceship. Several of their attempts failed, but from each mistake they learned, and eventually their first shuttle made it safely onto a warmer planet nearby. However, the planet's surface was too warm for any life to survive on it... although since when had difficult surfaces been a problem for the Kughar? They simply dug in and called it a new home. This style of settling in has of course made them quite the mining industry dominant species, but it works for them. Now, after having settled to every suitable planet in their home system, the Kughar built several FTL prototypes to finally finish their first exploration and colonization ships with said capability. Now it is just the time to take off and see what awaits out there... and the most daring have even asked the question who?

Note: Kughar have not ever discovered another intelligent species. This will be their first time in every sense.
