EITC has been out of India since 1857.

They have been losing power since 1857. Yes, but it wasn't until the 70's that they lost practically all their power. So, they're a serious contender. Maybe the Crown can reinstate them as a governing body to help consolidate their power?
So... British Colonies... yea... what's going to happen to them now that the Crown is gone? New Nations? ARE WE GOING TO SEE THE FIRST Corporatocracy EVER? British East India Company forms its own nation... That would be pretty damn awesome.
... I don't understand the hell is going on.
Name: James Wolff
Age: 28
Appearance:

Caste: Beta
Occupation: Reaper
Personality: If there was one word to describe James, then that word would be dense. Not the intellectual dense, but rather the social one. He can't read the social situation at all, and is usually stoic (the few moments he isn't... he is often painfully out of place). However, that stoicism comes in handy especially in his job. He takes his duty seriously, and is never lighthearted about his job and responsibilities. He can be trusted to stay focused in his missions. However, despite the usual blank face, James is very considerate and kind, but he tends to look at the large picture. So, his actions, while seemingly strange or even cruel to some initially, are well thought out and meant to bring long-term results.

Bio: They say that people's lives can be represented by objects. For James', it would be a book. Since his youth, James always read. Born to parents who worked in the Information Departments, James always had access to information and books that most other kids wouldn't. Because of his parent's well known relationship and role in the government, many thought that James' parents were Reapers, or at least loyal enough to the government that they would rat out anyone who spoke badly of the status quo. This led to James not being able to interact or talk to many people in his youth as everyone feared his parents, which is probably a major cause of James' awkwardness/denseness in social interactions. Without friends or anyone to play with, the young James turned to what source of entertainment he did have, books. By the young age of 14, James was reading old literature like "The Prince" by Machiavelli, and proved to be fully capable of comprehending the book.

For some reason, books, especially ancient ones, about civics, duty, law and responsibility had interested James. The government took this to be a sign of James' great potential as a loyal, duty-bound citizen. At the age of 18, he was working in the Old Information Department, and he specialized in two subjects, history, and law. It was in this position that James gained access to a lot of information that would be banned from public view. However, due to his morals and ethics, he didn't leak anything. Rather, he did his job dutifully and censored anything that seemed remotely anti status quo. In all those years he spent redacting information, he was far from jsut mindlessly crossing lines out. He read, and developed his sense of duty and responsibility. After several years of diligent work, it was no surprise that James was offered a position among the Reapers. He accepted. After all, the Reapers kept the peace and carried out the law, which appealed to James' senses. However, to carry out his job, James asked for a very special request. He wanted to keep his position in the Old Information Department, and be allowed to access the building and data. His reasoning that he gave to his recruiters? He claimed that using this as a cover would help make others feel more at ease when talking around James and thus reveal their true intentions. This request was ultimately approved.

To all citizens except very high ranking Alphas, and the officers of the Reapers, James appears to be an intellectual Beta, who was relatively loyal to the government. Unfortunately, for some unfortunate souls, this guise would bring their end. He has detained numerous individuals for crimes that were harmful to the state such as hoarding and spreading unlawful propaganda. His dossier also includes the capture of several notable figures among the Resistance. However, his highest profile case involved the arrest of an Alpha, who foolishly tried to include James in a plot to assassinate the Head of the Old Information Department for personal gain. Needless to say, James' dedication and loyalty to the government is not questioned as he had even willingly played a deadly game of chess with the Alpha that he arrested. In the eyes of the government, he was the model citizen. The truth though is a bit more... complicated. Yes, James considers himself a "model citizen", but not of the Golden State. Rather, he sees himself a citizen of the world. Everything he does, he does for a reason, and does not blindly follow the Golden State. He follows the finely tuned moral compass that he developed through the years, and incorporates the lessons that the old books offered. It is due to this knowledge that James finds himself following a thin line between the government and the Resistance. He doesn't completely support one or the other. In fact, James has ignored some blatant acts of resistance because he believed that the effects of the action would improve the condition of mankind as a whole. Some other acts he had committed includes: making false reports of "no activity" occurring in areas, "misplacing" files on certain cases, and once he even risked himself by letting a captive go after he learned that the captive was just on a goodwill mission to feed a bunch of homeless Omega children. Why doesn't James join the Insurgency? Well, he for one doesn't believe that the complete overthrow or destruction of the current government is the best way. He believes in reform from within, and not the complete abandon of law.

Part of the Insurgency?: No
UK vs. the world?
Sounds good to me.
Yea... waiting on people at this point. Hopefully, they do come back soon.
James - South East Sector

James fired the last remaining rounds in his clip at the approaching mutants as he tried to cover Peter's fighting withdrawal. The plan seemed to be relatively simple. Leap frog while moving back a few meters to the stairs as the other person covered you. Then once you moved a little you would turn back and provide cover for the other person. As he fired, James yelled "Sergeant! Get up the stairs and cover us as we get up the stairs. They're going to be right on our asses. So, that shotgun is going to come in handy. Captain, go upstairs and please coordinate the evacuation. We'll try to hold the stairs for as long as possible." Then James' gun ran out of ammo. He yelled "Reloading!" as he began to reload while moving back towards the stairs. Once he reloaded, he decided that right now was probably the most critical point in this mission for him. That was when he pulled a grenade from his vest, pulled the pin out, and threw it at the approaching mutants. With a quick dive to the back of the stairs, James yelled "Fire in the hole!"
Not much, it's a (bi?)-weekly newsletter that a couple of RPers run. It's an interesting read if you've never read one before. It's under announcements.
New Jersey, USA. 4th smallest state. Most densely populated though.
