The shopkeeper trembled as Edict yelled and cursed. He meant no harm by his question, and was only curious. He’d seen magic artifacts in town before, in fact at some of the other shops even. But the town's defense? What in the world did he mean? As the man trotted off, the shopkeeper shrugged and went back to the his shop, his gaze moving over to the crowd. With any luck, the angry man didn’t scare any other customers away.

Despite the hustle and bustle of the town, nothing was out of place. The Lord Marshall glanced about quickly and he took count of the guards he had stationed through the area and nodded with approval. Hopefully any newcomers would get the idea that trouble was not welcome here in his town. He nodded again, a signal to the captain of the guard, before moving away from the square and back to the northern edge of town where he had business to tend to.

She awoke to the noise of a clocktower. The boat had been docked already for a few hours, but she was in desperate need of sleep and no one seemed to notice her still on the boat. She slept with her axe firmly planted in her hands, perhaps that was why no one bothered her.

Strapping it firmly to her back, she continued to fix herself up enough to greet the world she had stumbled upon. Slowly and cautiously she wandered off the boat and onto the docks. She pulled her hood back slightly, gazing at the wonders that were Waeldeshore. There were shore men yelling orders, still pulling shipments off the dozens of boats that were docked. The street shops seemed busy and the square was quite crowded. She counted the number of guards positioned on the docks and throughout the square. “What are they expecting, a siege?” she muttered to herself, a smirk edging its way on her lips. She checked herself before hopping into the street, patting her pockets and pouches, her fingers gliding slowly over the hilt of the dagger stationed on her belt. “All ready to explore the heavily guarded town” again muttering to herself as her gaze drifted over the crowd.

There was a man yelling at a shopkeeper, something about ‘anti magic’ … “note to self - stay away from him”, a splash in the water as someone fell nearby. Elsewhere in the square, a pretty boy and what seemed to be a short one were picking on a little boy, “tsk tsk” she shook her head slowly. She pulled a flask from a hidden pocket, and quickly took a sip and put it away. She tugged her hood back over her face and decided to meander through the crowd, hoping no one would notice her. Who in the world would notice the woman covered head to toe in dark leathers and cloths?!
ewww. I sowwy :(
@The Fated Fallen awww I'm sorry hun. On the bright side, your character is approved :p

I had ridiculous professors when I was in school. One of them was a 6hour course that met 2ce a week, a quiz every week, a lab paper due every week (5-10 page apa format research paper), 2 powerpoint presentations throughout the semester, and 2 20-25 page apa term papers due. The guy was a douch. He humiliated me during my presentation of my final paper and then refused to give me a grade at the end of the term ... ah the good ol days :p
@The Fated Fallen haha no worries! To be honest, I would say that your support since the very beginning is what got me to even put this up.@AiyvaGuardit's a-okhehe.try and get it up soon. But I do completely understand, sometimes rl throws you curve balls :p and rl takes priority
Omg, guy's I think I'm going to cry :D I know it just started and we have a ways to go with the story, but I can't thank you all enough and explain how happy I am that this started off the way it did. I've been on this forum for a while. Not a long while, but some time. Popping in and out of rp's eit he r never finding one that would stay afloat or that I could truly become engulfed in. I realize anything can happen and this could go no where, but I'm the sentimental sap that didn't even expect this. So I did just want to thank you all while I pour in happy thoughts and positive vibes that it'll become something great.
@FinnIsh Hi there, we just started up, but you are more than welcome to join us. If you have any questions, let me know! :)

@Gabriel We already have a demon/angel person, but I'd rather keep the races a little more simple from here on out. Remember, while general d&d races are accepted in town (elves, dwarfs, etc), the town had just endured a war 5 years ago against mages, and they're still dealing with the hardships - magic isn't trusted at all, especially by the mayor of the town. I think it would be better within this setting to keep character races simple. So at this time, I am no longer accepting any 'prestige' races.
@Ryciera I absolutely love her! Whenever you're ready, you can put her in the characters section.

To everyone! The first post has been made, who will come and follow? :)
I've posted my own character with the hopes of being able to take part in the story and not just guiding it lol if worst comes to worst though, Isabeau takes a back seat.
Name: Isabeau Falkenrath
Race: Human
Age: 27
Gender: Female

Appearance: Isabeau has short auburn hair. It is longer in the front, sitting just below her chin. Bangs, neatly parted to the side, hang over her forehead and just barely brush over her eyebrows. Her eyes are something to behold; light green surrounded by a thin ring of gold. Freckles sprinkle lightly over her nose. She stands at about 5’7” tall, a petite upper body sitting upon wider hips and thick thighs. Not overly muscular though her body is tone. When exposed, displayed on her back are a number of scars, some seeming a bit more prominent.

Clothing: She typically wears light fabrics, leathers and cloths of darker shades, red being her favorite color. A large cowl normally covers most of her features. Dark brown leather boots extend up just past her knees, straps and buckles secure padding where would be needed. Plain cloth pants are held up by a thick black belt, lined with a few pouches and oddities.

Weapons: Through her training, she has become a jack of all trades. Though her favorite weapon is the battle axe strapped to her back. She has a dagger hidden within her boots and one saddled to her belt at her right hip. The dagger hanging from her belt is a curved dagger, with a ruby embedded within the hilt.

Alignment: chaotic neutral

Skills: Part of the reason why the witches wanted to do away with her because she did not have the affinity for magic as they did. However her time in the Assassin’s Keep allowed her to develop other skills and techniques:
Shadow Prison: Isabeau is able to shadow step to her foe for an attack. During this attack, her foe’s movement speed is drastically reduced temporarily
Wild Blow: Isabeau is able to manipulate the shadows around her weapons, increasing the damage done by her attacks. The attack is usually used when attempting to sunder a shield.
Wildfire: Despite not having the understanding of the weave, as the witches did, Isabeau was bestowed with a gift from her mother. The gift of Wildfire. This gift takes an enormous amount of energy to control and wield. When called upon, the shadows immediately surrounding Isabeau will ignite and deadly flames will surround her as well as coat her axe, adding fire damage to her attacks. This generally leaves Isabeau quite drained afterwards

Magic:N/A -see skills above
