I'm so happy, found two orphan newborn kittens and was able to put them in with a nursing momma cat and she adopted them right away!

Civil unions aren't the same as marriage, as has been stated. And a straight couple can get married without it being religious. We got married with a JP and a non religious ceremony. Religion has shit all to do with it these days. It's only something the religious folk drag out because they really have no valid arguement that gays should not get married. If their church decides not to perform a ceremony, that's on them. But legally, they should be allowed to because of things like Awson mentioned, only a spouse can have access too. Time to stop the seperate but equal crap because we all know that it doesn't work and it's not true.

Oh, yeah. That is hard because you have to tell a bunch of strangers stuff about yourself in which you leave yourself a bit vulnerable. Even if it's just about hobbies or your pet/kids. While the class sits there and judges you.
Feeling unprepared is probably causing that level of anxiety. Find a subject that you want to talk about, ask for suggestions from here? Then work on that attention grabber and it'll go from there. 3-5 minutes isn't bad.
