I'm so happy, found two orphan newborn kittens and was able to put them in with a nursing momma cat and she adopted them right away!

Hellis...I have to know. Vikings? Plz?
Blitzkrieg said You know, I like this.
I always thought that cats suited me.

Me and my girlfriend always have conversations about the people we know and their "spirit animals". She is a fox, you meet her for 5 minutes and you will know why. But we could never figure me out.

I get that leopard vibe from you.

I only know what I see you post but you seemed like the type. A loner by choice, at home in the wild or an urban setting, able to blend in and yet stand out. Stealthy, intelligent, with a certain charm. Sitting calmly, unpeturbed, enjoying the sun until the right prey passes by and then it's teeth to the jugular.

Blitzkrieg said When my grandpa died, I inherited all his family history stuff. My last name: originally: "Töllner" was an occupational name for a collector of tolls or customs levies in the Northern Germanic dialects. Records I have seen place us a a poor noble family operating the ferry system across the Rhine. We eventually became part of Prussia and like our entire family history is littered with Prussian Military Officers.

We came to the US after the civil war and took land in Nebraska as part of the homestead act. An argument in the late 1800's resulted in the entire family moving to Oklahoma except one of the sons named "Peter", who went on his own to Wisconsin.

I love finding things out like this. It's just fascinating.

British, not really sure what they did.
British, possibly nobles, more likely highwaymen.

Boring family is boring.

Nothing is boring, especially when you think of what they saw in their lifetimes and how they made the decision to leave their homes go across an ocean to start a new life in a strange land. When I think about it, I think of all the untold stories buried in the past, and it's fascinating to imagine.

My dad's side of the family is mostly English Catholic, the earliest ancestor to come over to the US was in the mid 1600s to the Virginia colony. My grandmother found a will that is from a direct ancestor of my granddad that shows that ancestor leaving his few acres and some pigs to his son. Knowing how it was for Catholics in England at the time, I'm pretty sure I know how and why he came over. He was believed to be just fourteen or so when he made the trip.

I recently found out my mother's maiden name is not Spanish, it's French but the spelling was changed to look more Spanish because my ancestor was in the French army that invaded Mexico to try and expand their empire in the 1860s. Apparently he deserted the army when they lost and ended up marrying a Spanish woman there in Mexcio. There was all kinds of stories before about them being Basque or something but I did the research into the name and found out it's origin was French. I am now part frog. History is fun.
