I'm so happy, found two orphan newborn kittens and was able to put them in with a nursing momma cat and she adopted them right away!

Look, let me put it to you in the simplest way humanly possible. Who's the most badass character in any movie or game, ever? Only rule is that they have to be human.
Like I pointed out before, do you think they'd ever make a game where Solid Snake or some other grizzled action hero was a wide eyed private? No, because no one wants to play a noob who will throw up when he kills someone or cry when he's scared.
I only watched a play through my friend did and I screamed so loud my husband could hear me upstairs. It helped that I was drunk, but that shit is scary.
It is. I don't care if they say 'Oh it's a reboot, blah, blah' They show her getting hurt, getting nearly raped and weeping over kills. It's Lara Fucking Croft, damnit. I don't care to play her through puberty. I want to play the badass.

I agree though, with KB, what's more irking is not costumes but personalities when it comes to lead characters. Making formally strong females into weak ones is the most insulting. Whatever the excuse they use to justify it.

mdk said whoa. I came in to say i think it's getting better in AAA titles, because look at the new Tomb Raider and look at how Lara's not just a masturbation toy anymore. Cuz I thought that game represented some major progress.... but I guess.... not? Idunnno. Now I'm rethinking my position.
I agree her form was pretty rediculous but I'm speaking about the character herself. She was strong, she didn't have a 'love interest' to propel her story, she used her wits and her tits, not to mention her guns, to get what she wanted. So other than the crazy boob/hip ratio, she was a badass female lead.
