GM's whom provide poor experiences kill their own roleplays, or let them devolve into mediocrity. That's why you have more experience with poor players. You have a choice in what RP's and GM's you involve yourself with. @Monkey: I lurves pumpkin pie.

I tend to do this - involve myself with only particular GMs because I know the experience I am getting into. I usually take recommendations of close friends on this in high regard.
Ritoi

Ritoi hadn't expected to be found by anyone in the clearing. Kito's presence, however, didn't phase him.

~Quite possibly,~ Ritoi responded, his deep voice echoing through Kito's mind. ~Your Natrelmon serves you well if so. Such attunement to the surroundings is quite rare, but I will admit that my presence is hard to miss when I don't wish to put effort into not being seen.~ It was honest praise, Ritoi's tone true, ~As for my presence, there are things in this world that your kind are ignorant to, not out of any fault of your own, but due to the cunning of these threats. I am here to ensure the safety of this town for now.~

Ritoi's tone shifted however, to address Kito's concerns of him being captured, from the serious tone he had once had to one of sheer amusement, ~The threat humans pose to me is rather small. There are few Natrelmon alive that have the strength to match me in combat.~ It was clear Ritoi was not speaking out of vain pride. The subtle shift in tone towards the end indicated that he knew his limits in combat and it was that skill that had allowed him to avoid capture for thousands of years.

~I would ask that you keep my presence in this area to yourself,~ Ritoi added, yawning, exposing his teeth in a non-threatening fashion, ~I would not want to get the city riled up with an effort to capture me. It could make my job more difficult.~ It was a request with honest respect for Kito as a person, despite the fact Ritoi could easily utilize force to ensure that Kito kept his presence to himself. It was not in his nature to utilize his powers in such a fashion. Most of the other Guardians, the Natrelmon that worked directly under the Legendaries, felt the same in their interactions with humans.
Ritoi

Ritoi stood against the setting sun in the forest of Toran skyline, hiding his golden flames within the light. He could feel an ominous presence in the air around Toran. It was that force that drew him here. Focusing his energy with a roar, he let the flames that sheathed his body run wild for a moment, brightening the area to show his strength, but leaving the ground uncharred. Ritoi's was one of the strongest Natrelmon inhabiting the world, so the display of power was even more impressive, even if it did nothing to dispel the feelings he had.

Few had seen Ritoi in person, as most Natrelmon of his caliber avoided contact with humans outside specific circumstances. Most of what was known about him was left to old legends passed down from person to person and a scant few written works on the subject of Natrelmon of his level. Whatever this force was, it was not intimidated by his status and power, which did merit concern from Ritoi. Despite his pride and strength, he was not above bringing in allies such as Yoko, Tasri, or even the legendary Suzaku in on these matters, but it was likely that they were already aware of the growing darkness in Atren.

For now, it was worth waiting around Toran to protect the trainers that were starting out on their rites. They were at the greatest risk in this world, lacking the experience and raw strength to deal with some of the greater threats that existed in the world. With time, they would be able to protect themselves, but for now it was his duty to protect the 'young'. Sitting in a regal pose, the lion Natrelmon dominated the clearing as he surveyed the distant cityscape of Toran.
Please let me know if I have not done your wild Natrelmon rolls/library rolls for you so they can be done.

I'll also be updating the FAQ sometime in the next couple days. As we progress, you'll want to make sure that you are very aware of what items you have and that you purchase them before the situation in that you need them arrives. If there are items that are not listed in the general item database that you would like to have, please let me know and we can work out a sensible cost for it.

Thanks!
Accepted. Doing your starting rolls for gifts and such.

EDIT: Unfortunately, you did not get any gifts or library items/information.
Accepted. Will do gift rolls momentarily.

Ah, I've never dabbled in the Arena or more combat focused roleplays. XD I prefer rps with more focus on plot.

I agree. I haven't done more of the competitive combat for years, but the lists still are something I dislike when they get brought up.

Tier lists?

It is a combat roleplay thing. They are used to classify characters by power, but I don't like how most are executed.

Well, Tantalum may have made the numbers sound a bit less significant than they are. True, there is no reason to nitpick every detail - but those numbers still are related to real world measurement systems, which allows, in its turn, to compare a given character's abilities to real life processes. For example, how many Vulcan rounds does your opponent's punch equal to, and how your armor, which is ten times as durable and has the capacity to absorb about 15 times the kinetic energy a Kevlar vest can, will react to this strike. And if you do it right, there will be no need for any arguments at all.Morever, it is just much more simple and neat when you write the numbers instead of something like "1500 trucks falling onto your face from the Eiffel Tower", and it is sure easier to compare characters that way as well, to knoew who will have an upper hand in battle. Seriously, even "1 truck off the Eiffel Tower" is actualy a darn unit of measurement, and you can be sure that a character who punches with 1 truck of force is weaker than one that can with 2 beacuse of that.

It's fine, but I don't really fit in with this structure and that is why I asked questions. Thank you to everyone who took time to try to answer the questions I posed. This isn't the place for a further discussion on the available structures and philosophies for combat, so if you wish to reach me, you can reach me via PM.

Good luck with the thread.
