When your internet is out, you ponder why you spend so much time on it. When it comes back again, you ignore any deep, profound discoveries you make about it taking up time and go right back to it.

Do you suggest extracting it from living forces instead?

That is an option. Triggering some other defenses is also a viable option, and the only means I believe we can access his raw power within this facility.

I suspect that unless he maintains a source of raw magic in this vicinity, it may be more reasonable to obtain the signature of his magic system and reconstruct it.

It would be incredibly risky. There’s a high chance of triggering a lockdown and rendering the entire thing inaccessible altogether.

*Kneels over one of the corpses and activates a magic matrix around it*
He is aware of our presence, correct?

Good luck finding anything more than traces on those already departed. But yes, he is. I've arranged it so that he's occupied while we work.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

Can we use the system itself to extract his magic?

The system by which it's contained can't be tapped into itself like that.
*Looks at the two undead corpses on the ground*
But his own defenses for it, on the other hand?
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

And what must we do to intrude?

I possess this key, his blood, and another of the keys, which is his voice. The other two keys need to be acquired, being a sample of his own magic, and a sample of his own power, both of which exist here and just need to be... Cultivated, for lack of a better term.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

With what intention?

To protect it, obviously. But the elaborate and specific means to access it was designed to make it impossible for nearly anyone while allowing him access in the event of an emergency. Say, dimensional collapse.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

Why is it capable of opening at all?

It's by his own design. He's set all this up with all manner of sorcery.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

All of the above.

Graveny's original body is locked away in a much more archaic manner. Archaic, yet robust, and dangerous. There are four keys magically tied to the device which contains it, and all four must be used to open the device.
*Pulls out a vial of what appears to be blood from my pocket*
For example, his own blood, which I've held on to and preserved for eons, just in case.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

Then what is required of us?

You're familiar with security systems that require simultaneous activation of a certain device from different locations, I'm sure? Often with, say, keys of a sort, or access codes.
<Snipped quote by Intrepid>

Very well. Do continue.

The issue is just that I've never actually done it myself.
