Is it just me or did there used to be way more original RPs on this platform? Seems like nowadays everything is some fandom or pre-established universe RP

Morning guys, posted!. I'll take pilot. Amelia can't resist an advance up the career ladder and moving from co-pilot to main pilot is pretty much the biggest one you can get this high up. When you guys are on the ground i'll keep her busy in some mischievous way hehe. Also Inuyusha, if you don't want to co-pilot i won't hold it against you. (Amelia might but i won't ), an NPC would work or once you're done flying you can go down with the rest of the troops and leave Amelia in charge of the bridge. I'd imagine a co-pilot is only absolutely vital when there is lots to do, like when in naval combat or during a slip space jump etc. Completely up to you hun. Lastly, i encourage anyone who is put off by a large cast to pleeeeaaassseee try it out. I've been roleplaying for too long and i know when a good roleplay comes up. This is one of them, and giving up on it before you've given it a chance is crazy. Just my two pennies.
Yeah that's what I was thinking myself. Rose will just co-pilot in slipspace or a naval battle or something to provide support to Amelia. Thanks for the understanding =)
IC post is up. I'm off to bed you smashing gents ~
Rose suddenly perked up when he heard his name. They wanted him to steer the ship? It was an interesting decision, albeit not a smart one. Or at least Rose considered it idiotic. He didn't really know what the other people thought, but if he was alone up there in the sky in that big metal tin can, he'd find a way to get that damn anklet off and bolt. The idea was enticing, but Rose was no genius, there was no way he was going to get the anklet off without tripping ten alarms in the process. "I'm touched and all that you guys would consider me to fly your ship and all, and I'm sure I'd do a great job. I've got a lot of experience with freight ships and all that, and heck I think I even flew this model once in one of my... erm.." he paused for a second and looked around at their attentive eyes. "... excursions if you will. The ship handles well and all that, but I don't think I'm the guy for the job. I know how to steer and maneuver a ship, but I probably wouldn't be able to do much when it requires me to improvise is all. I guess I could co-pilot when we're going from mission to mission, but I myself prefer to be grounded. Sorry to let you gents down."
Just created a CS. I doubt anyone will catch who I based my character off of (hint hint, semi-famous hip hop artist) but if you get it you can has a cookie. :)
Kid Cudi <3 *swoons* I don't know about my character- but IRL me is in loveee.
I think his name might have been a dead giveaway, or maybe its that I used an actual image of him. Darn D:< I should have tried harder to disguise him
I think it would be better if Rose was on the ground, mostly because I would enjoy it more. Unless there are any objections. I'm going to quickly shower and then get an IC post up and then off to bed.

Driff Mescudi
"Wanna see home look at the sky -- remember, you are not strange, but you are not the same man"
Age: 28 Gender: Male Sexual orientation: Straight Personality: ✩ Quiet ✩ Sympathetic ✩ Compulsive gambler and alcoholic Driff has always felt alienated from society and different. He often describes himself as "The Man on the Moon" due to his inability to fit in with the rest of society, or at least he thinks. Likes ➸ Hip Hop & Rap ➸ Marijuana ➸ Skating Dislikes ✘ Wrestling with depression ✘ People who think that they've had it rough ✘ People who have had the world handed to them on a silver platter ✘ Insomnia Occupation: Self produced Hip Hop Singer / Song Writer Hobbies ⇨ Smoking weed ⇨ Skating ⇨ Rapping ⇨ Sitting in trees at night and staring at the sky Specialty: Spitting sick rhymes ;) History: Scott Ramond Seguro Cudi (who's became known as Driff ever since he can remember -- no one really remembers when this nickname stuck let alone why) was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a poor African American family. He had two older brothers and one older sister -- Domingo, Dean, and Maisha. His father was a painter and part time substitute teacher World War II Marine veteran. His father was of Mexican descent whereas his mother was African-American. At only the age of eleven, his father died of cancer. This passing was not one that Driff would take lightly. In fact, his father's death would affect him for the rest of his life. The death of his father left him depressed and lonely, looking for someone to latch onto. His mother was never available as she worked two jobs to support the family. Driff was a straight edge kid who never got in trouble, but his brothers were entirely different; they would get caught up with the wrong crowd and get involved with "hood things" as Driff put it due to the lack of their father. Driff could distinctly remember as a kid, everytime Christmas would come around his mom would have to hustle on the Christmas grind to be able to get the presents. Life was tough as a kid for Driff without his father in the slums of Cleveland, but he powered through. As Driff would grow older he would attempt to "piece the puzzle of the universe" as he put it in his songs. He would try and figure out the world so he could find closure and soothe his grief. At around 16, Driff would begin to get symptoms of an insomniac. He could no longer sleep at night anymore, always tossing and turning with no where to go. He was in an isolated state of dismay and depression, almost like the dark side of the moon. It was also around this time that Driff began rapping. His first album was titled "The Legacy of the Man on the Moon" to signify the way he felt. He would keep rapping, only to experience short spurts of fame. At one point he became extremely famous for his hit single "Night N' Day" but this would only leave him to fade into obscurity yet again. At one point, Driff harbored a marijuana addiction so strong that he attended rehab for it. After being discharged he decided to head to his Aunt's house in Pallasburgh to get away from the big city and the drugs and just recollect his head a little bit -- Maybe even get inspiration for his new album.
Hypothetical question here; if Rose were to pilot the ship would he still participate in ground missions?
My character will definitely be grounded, no doubt about it
Yeah, small strike teams with a bit of air support seems the best option. Only Pask and Suno seem to be more suited to air combat than ground. More people with starfighters just means that when combat isn't on the ground, we have more of a fighting chance than just the Vigilance's weapons systems. That said, Drew's more about maintenance and keeping everything working as a tech expert, so it's not too likely he'll be rushing into combat. I figure more often than not, he'll end up being left with the ship. =P I won't be starved for lack of things to do, even if nobody else is there, he can even act as a liaison for status updates along with the ship AI. That said, first impressions over, Drew is definitely already favoring certain members.
Oh? and what members? I'm jealous of whoever it is already
