Finally finished editing that transcript. At this point the only person I'm rooting for in this case is the judge.

Bio

I'm a 24 year old college student with a "tragic past" and a series of flunked schools and medical bills. Roleplaying has been my one escape from a harsh reality while growing up, and I really appreciate this site and everyone on it.

I've been on Roleplayer Guild for eight years, going on nine in a few months.

I started roleplaying at 13 on an Invader Zim fan site... I accept my shame and disgrace.

Excellent! That will provide an decent amount of confusion and poor first impressions when they finally meet, face to face.
Sweet! A proper thread and everything! Now, you wanted us to continue our precious discussion of whether or not the characters have met before here? May I get your opinion on my proposition?
@Diggerton well... I suppose people can double. I'm going to be doubling as both captain and support crew. Though the support crew will mostly be there just to get people organized and on their way. But I see no problem.
@McHaggis Reserved! :)

@Diggerton, yes, people can have up to two positions, one dominant and the other secondary, but I would like to have every slot above filled out. And yes, I can reserve you for scout.

Alright, just two more people, and I can make the OOC. Maybe we can attract additional moths to our flame there.
Bump. I'd like to get at least six people confirming interest before I start an OOC.
They have been drafted in the navy, ship out, soldiers!
Well, as long as he isn't Lalli. Since this is happening at roughly the same time, maybe a little later, than the events in the comics, I'm sure he's far away in Denmark right about now. I encourage original characters and the like more than carbon copies of actual characters. Otherwise, it feels like it is just too similar.
Okay, Victor is adorable. And now I officially ship VictorxYuki. VictYuki? Yuktor? YuVik? Viktory? Ooh, I like that one. Viktory it is!
@Blackbeard, okay, and done! First come, first served, people!

@Goldmarble, .... *hands tissue*

@McHaggis, well, if they are of one of the five nations, I don't see a problem with it. But I cannot stress it enough, every character must be either a Icelander, a Norwegian, a Dane, a Swede, or a Finn. There hasn't been any contact with the former countries outside the silent world for a hundred years. Even if your guy is a 4th generation immigrant to Sweden from I dunno, Singapore, that still makes them very much a swede, as Singapore don't exist no more.

Also, just so everyone knows, it's important to keep in mind the immunity rates. If your character is from Iceland, than they only have a 7% chance of immunity, compared to the 48% chance of the rest of the world. However, if your character is Icelandic, they have better access to knowledge, wealth, luxury, and the feeling of security than other nations. The Nordic Council of History and Rediscovery are centered in Iceland, which is why we're starting there.

Hello all, Len here. Man, it's been a long time since I last posted one of these. So, recently, I've gotten into an amazing webcomic by the name of Stand Still, Stay Silent, by Minna Sundberg, a Finno-Swedish author and artist. It's a post-apocalyptic comic set 100 years in the future in Scandinavia, as the rest of the world has fallen to a horrible and mysterious illness. It incorporates norse mythology as well as steampunk technology into a beautifully unique setting, and her artwork and storytelling are amazing. I highly encourage people to read it, but that's not why I'm here. I wanted to do an RP set in the world of SSSS, with a similar expedition team being sent out, south east to Russia, to explore and find lost artifacts. I was considering making it a 1x1, but I thought it might be more fun as a group rp. Please note that I do not own any of the artwork above, it is all from the SSSS website which you may find here

The positions in the expedition party are:

  1. Mechanic

  2. Scholar

  3. Scout

  4. Mage

  5. Cleanser

  6. Hunter

  7. Doctor

Please note that positions can double, you can be a mage as well as a doctor, or a scout as well as a cleanser. If this receives a lot of interest, We probably won't do that, and I can open up two mages spots, one for a Finnish mage and the other for an Icelandic. Our mission would be starting in Iceland, going south to Norway by ship, taking a train into Sweden, and then a river barge into Finland. From there on, we could continue south east to Russia, with the old city of St. Petersburg being the final target. The mission will be fraught with danger, particularly to those who aren't immune to the virus, still carried by Beasts, Trolls, and Giants. But don't let that stop you from joining! After all, old world relics cost a fortune! Who wouldn't want to join such an exciting suicide- I mean, once-in-a-very-short-lifetime opportunity?
