Well the drought is a problem, but it's not as bad as one thinks because commerce still exists. We won't run out of drinking water, we'll just import more from Oregon and Washington. The real issue from the drought is the effects on our agriculture. Our drinking water isn't hardly affected.

Not gonna lie: I fucking love making fun of California. It's my home state and I know it better than other states. But I also love making fun of other states too. I just love mocking things, I suppose. Life's better as a satire.

I've lived in California for the better part of the last five years.

You people do not know how to drive in inclement weather.

"Oh heavy rain? Let me suddenly stop in the middle of the freeway while the lady behind me is still doing ~60"

Or.

"We have a quarter inch of snow. THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE ARE COMING DOWN THE ROAD."

Which is just sad to me...I'm originally from the Midwest, and was coming back from a three year tour in Northern Japan. Where three feet of snow could drop overnight.

I'm a California driver and I'm fucking good, as well as mentally stable. The problem with the West Coast drivers is that they don't care. East Coast has asshole drivers, but West Coast can't be assed to follow the law.

Other than the driving, it wasn't bad.

I drove into San Francisco today. First time driving in it, and with a stickshift no less. The slopes and stupid road design weren't so bad... but I vastly underestimated the clinical psychosis that plagues the drivers of SF. Holy fuck.

Maddox

The past two days had been relatively uneventful for Maddox. While he got to know the newest members of Phoenix Wing better, his mind was still clouded. The red-haired mage was bothered by his performance at Kabo. It was clear that he had grown weaker since joining Phoenix Wing two years ago, but he was torn on what he should do about it. On one hand he didn't need to be strong or stand out, but on the other it could cost lives in the future if he isn't in top condition.

Presently he was at his apartment, sitting on the couch. Maddox still hadn't found a replacement for his destroyed jacket and was presently shirtless. As he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees, several large scars were visible across his back. Maddox was presently deep in thought, reflecting on recent events again. His eyes suddenly took a resolve and he stood up from his seat. After walking over to his closet and putting on a black shirt with a single white stripe, he looked towards the corkboard on his wall.

I've made up my mind, he thought to himself, now turning his gaze to the window to look out across Magnolia. I won't allow myself to grow weaker any longer. I won't have any shortcomings, I won't be responsible for any failures. Maddox narrowed his eyes as he looked at the guild hall across the city. I'll begin training again.
