The red-haired mage chuckled when Mayt asked about how the guild was doing. "Well, we're pretty much getting ready for the Grand Magic Games," Maddox began to explain. "Seems Jarvis wants me in the team. It'll be fun participating, I hope. Other than the lineup announcement just now, not much has happened. Except... Jamie's taken a bit of a vacation." Before he could elaborate further, Karn appeared. Apparently the shapeshifter was going to borrow Maddox's body. He wanted to ask Karn why, but figured it didn't really bother him so it didn't matter. Even if he got into some kind of trouble, Maddox didn't really care.
"Have fun with it, I suppose," he returned, giving Karn a thumbs up. With that, he returned his attention to Mayt. "I don't know exactly why he took a vacation, but she definitely needed one. I only worry about his safety. Or if she's actually relaxing. But there's nothing I can control about that." His red eyes shifted away now, looking over the rest of his guildmates. Some of the other participants for the Games were heading off to go training already. Pretty dedicated of them. Maddox's eyes drifted across to the job board. "I don't feel like training or anything," he confessed, standing up from his seat. "I'll just take a job and pretend it's practice."
With his hands back in his jacket pockets again, Maddox walked up to the board and began examining the available jobs. Nothing really stood out as special to him, but there was one job that was worth quite a bit of money. The Giant Worm! Or so the job claimed. A diamond-clad beast was terrorizing a town. The red-haired wizard casually peeled the paper off the board and walked back to Jarvis, holding it up. "Hey, I think I'll do this job," he announced, to let the temporary Guild Master keep tabs of his members. "I'll be back... tomorrow night. Sound good?"
