Today was a day of celebration for Golem's Hand. But he was in Harpy's Wing, so Odinn didn't pay much mind to it initially. Sure, he was gonna use it as an excuse to not take any jobs today but in reality his goal was to just stay at the guild hall rather than attend the festival. He remained seated at the Harpy's Wing bar, drinking casually until Illedrith confronted him.
"It's a beautiful day outside! Birds are singing and flowers are blooming! On days like these, you should be out there enjoying the sunlight! Besides, what with everyone leaving for the festival, there won't be anyone left here for you to scab drinks off! They'll have better stuff at the festival anyway you know, and I might even be nice enough to buy you if you can deign to drag yourself down there..."
Odinn let out a sigh before spinning slowly in his barstool to somewhat face Illedrith. She meant well and he wasn't particularly irritated by her so much as the concept of doing something, but one would have to have known him for years to understand where his resentment truly lay. "Eh, you say that now but you won't drink with me," he responded, avoiding the topic at hand as he was known to do. After another few sips it seemed that Illedrith was taking Ceri and Klisa out to the festival. "And if you decide to come down, you're more than welcome to join us in our festivities, right up until the point where you lose yourself to the liquor." This was met with a chuckle from the lazy S-class. "I don't drink nearly fast enough to get drunk."
He returned his attention to his mug on the countertop. He began weighing the pros and cons of attending the festival. It was something to do, sure. But did he really want to do anything today? Though, if our Master catches me here after I said I'd be going to the festival I would never hear the end of it...
In the end Odinn decided to go. He finished his drink first, naturally, but afterwards he got off the stool and walked to town at his usual slow pace. People recognized him immediately during his brief journey to town, with many asking him if he was going to the festival or why he was going. "Yeah, I'm going. Something to do, I guess," was his standard response, as he didn't feel like putting much effort into answering the same questions in different ways. He didn't even take his hands out of his jacket's pockets, just moving along his usual lazy way. Thankfully the walk to the town was brief and Odinn was quick to notice the various festivities going on. There were carnival games, various food stands, and plenty of people.
If I didn't know any better it would seem like Luna loves Golem's Hand more than us, he thought to himself with a chuckle. Ah well. Before he could go find a stand that would sell cheap beer, Odinn practically ran into an altercation between two Golem's Hand mages. Just a few feet away from him was Travis and Vega, both seemingly prepared to go into battle with each other. Over what? Odinn wouldn't know and probably couldn't understand. He contemplated walking away and pretending he didn't see anything, but a little voice in his head that served as his conscience told him otherwise. Sometimes Odinn wondered if it was truly his superego doing its job or if Illedrith had managed to infiltrate his mind. With a dismissive sigh he approached the two.
Just before he could speak up it seemed that Travis gave up on the idea of fighting and blew off Vega. It was in a rude fashion, granted, but at least the two didn't fight. Sweet. I didn't even have to do anything. Sure they could still go at it, but in Odinn's mind it was all resolved. That period joke was kinda funny though. Don't think any of the women around here would've appreciated that remark. Then again it was clever. Not my style though, so I guess I won't steal that one. Odinn continued on away from Vega and Travis towards the thick of the festival, keeping his eyes peeled for booze and friends. Primarily the booze, as surely if he ran into someone that he knew they would openly mock his laziness with their surprise. I suppose I should practice making comebacks though. Seems like a good skill to have. If I can just humiliate someone with words then I wouldn't even have to use magic. But do I really want to put in the time to get good at something...?
These relationship thingies are cool. Imma do one too.
Kyuuten Rallis - "He's a good kid. A real go-getter. Boggles my mind how he's a Celestial Spirit mage and can still use other kinds of offensive magic. A reliable kind of guy. He's done jobs for me on more than one occasion so I guess I kinda owe him a favor or something. But he doesn't seem like the type that'll take advantage of that at all."
Ceri - "This is one weird girl. I'd get creepy vibes from her if it wasn't for the fact she seems more afraid of everything around her than anyone could possibly be afraid of her. But I've got nothing against her. She doesn't really like talking so I'm fine with leaving her be. Maybe one day she'll grow out of that timid shell of hers."
Illedrith Adrasia - "That name is a lot harsher than Illedrith actually is. She acts like a mother figure for the younger members of our guild, I respect that. I think she's younger than me though but whatever. A real looker too. But she's a lot more business than I am. Can't help but feel a bit intimidated by her in all honesty. She is usually the one that gets mad at me for relaxing after all. I'd probably do half as many jobs if it wasn't for her motivating me one way or another."
Allison Levinhart - "Now, Allie's magic is pretty cool. She can get super loud but it's always entertaining. Super peppy and happy all the time. That's a good thing I guess but that makes her way too active for my taste. Real cute but I get a feeling that spending too much time with her will be more than I bargained for. At least her concerts are a great distraction from doing jobs."
Klisa Bay - "She's kinda like Ceri but with less looking weird and more water. First Dragon Slayer I've ever met, which goes to show how they aren't all monster-like warriors like the image I had in my head. She's definitely strong but she's super reserved. I bet she gets way more attention than she wants because of her magic, but perhaps that's good for her. She needs to take a page from my book and learn to relax."
Hans Grimm - "He makes way too many puns. Real twitchy about his background but he seems alright enough. Hell, he won't even fight unless he's forced to. Probably has a bad history because of his grisly magic. It's a real shame but he isn't down about it at all. Guy always seems to be in bright spirits. He doesn't bother me about anything so my curiosity about his past isn't enough for me to bother him about it."
Travis Ziegler - "A real tough guy. He likes to fight and pretends that nothing can bother him. But even I can be bothered so I know that isn't true. Dude hunts monsters so that he can transform into them with his magic. He's already earned my respect for that alone. He's gonna be getting real strong, real fast."
Sun A. Platinna - "This guy gets it. Sunny knows how to chill out and have a good time. He can flip that switch a lot faster than I can, but he's good company for the most part. He owes me some food, now that I think about it. Last time he came to Harpy's Wing I treated him lunch. Oh well. He'll make good on that eventually. His guns are kinda cool, too. He can pretend he's a cowboy if he wants to, but for some reason I don't think he really pretends he's a cowboy."
Rei Miyamoto - "One badass recluse. Dude uses gravity to fight. I don't know how well I'd stand up to him, but I know that he's a good guy. He only fights when he has to, kinda like me but in a less lazy way. I wouldn't want to piss him off. In fact I actively make sure I don't. I get a vibe from him that I just can't put my finger on. Hell, maybe it's just me that wants to fight him but I'm pretty sure he also wants to fight me. Not like seriously, but just to see how far we can go. That's how much we respect each other I guess."
@sakurasan You probably can. Golem's Hand needs some more characters.
"Ah, Cernia," Lucille repeated, seemingly ignoring the rest of what the Kyuubi said. The vampire didn't move from her levitating seat, instead she sat up straight and stopped propping her head up with her arm. She made a visual cue to show that she was at full attention now. "You must be quite strong from the stories I've heard about your master. But now this makes more sense to me." The floating vampire uncrossed her legs and then crossed them the other way, a friendly grin already forming on her face. The more she talked the more casual she seemed around Cernia, speaking as if they had known each other for years. "I've heard stories that this temple has had financial troubles for some time now. If this temple is your home then surely that must be stressful. And the responsibility that comes with a title like the one you have? Oh dear, you have a lot riding on your shoulders don't you. It's no wonder why an adult would start acting out in your shoes and you're still so young."
Lucille's grin grew into a cheeky smile, baring her fangs. "But that isn't what is stressing you out the most, is it?" Her eyes seemed as if they were looking through Cernia now. While Lucille generally looked like an innocent young woman, the knowledge that she was a vampire combined with her smile and different colored eyes could give off an eerie feeling in all but the most confident of people. "A girl like you is too strong to crumble under responsibility. You've been preparing for it all your life. No, that isn't what's bothering you." Her smile vanished as her high heels clacked against the ground, allowing her to stand up again. She leaned forward, putting her face uncomfortably close to Cernia's as she raised her right hand. She held her hand near her own mouth, keeping Luciel from being able to read her lips from what she was about to whisper. "It's about a boy, isn't it?" Lucille suggested discretely, quiet enough to keep even the Raijuu from hearing. Of course, Lucille could've just said that telepathically. But she was smarter than to go directly into the girl's mind without an invitation. Then again, she was putting herself within arm's reach of the Kyuubi while effectively disregarded her request to leave. The smile slowly returned to her face as she stood upright again and removed herself from Cernia's personal space. "We can talk privately if you wish..."
@j8cob My understanding was that physical attacks had little effect. How strong is Lucille, anyway? Lifting cars is one thing, but if it takes a halestorm of bullets to deter a single youkai...
Bare fists?
Throwing cars is one thing, but she isn't really a fisticuffs kind of gal. If she's putting her hands on an enemy it would be to pull them apart. Obviously something intangible would have nothing to fear, but only the sturdiest of monsters would stay in one piece. Or the fastest ones she simply can't catch.
@Hawlin Lucille isn't really SoL in combat at all. Her handgun is almost useless but she's a goddamn vampire. She doesn't need it. She can still rip Youkai to shreds.
A smile formed on Lucille's face when the Raijuu boy complied without any difficulty. She was slightly impressed that he was able to recognize that she was older than her looks would suggest, though she didn't have any grandchildren like he suggested. At least not yet. "Well, I did graduate from Oxford way back when," she mused to herself, letting that serve as her statement of boldness. When the other Raijuu around began to light up like beacons she didn't seem particularly surprised. She could sense their presence since she arrived. A human likely wouldn't have the senses for it, but as the Raijuu already noticed she wasn't a human. As Lucille and Luciel waited for their leader to arrive, the older woman turned to face the younger boy for a brief word. "He wasn't going to run," she told him, turning forward just in time for the fox-girl to arrive.
This teenage gang leader didn't seem to surprise Lucille either. Not her appearance nor her behavior. But rather than immediately answer the younger girl she decided to do something else first. Without a word or any fast movements, Lucille stepped forward and approached the kitsune, likely standing uncomfortably close. And without warning she reached forward with both hands and grabbed onto her hood before gently pulling it back, removing the hood from her head and revealing the girl's fox ears and entire head. "Ah, you look much better like this," Lucille declared, now taking a step back out of the girl's personal space and returning her hands to herself. She didn't wait for any protest or complaint before continuing. "My colleague and I are both Chasers and we've been tasked with handling the kids that have been stirring up trouble at this temple. We were told that we are allowed to use force, but I like children and don't believe that is necessary."
Lucille began to lean back as if she was going to sit down in an invisible chair. Before she could fall, however, she lifted her legs and began to levitate. After propping up her head with one arm and crossing her legs it genuinely gave the appearance that she was in an invisible, floating lounge chair. For Youkai and Chasers the sight wasn't much to behold, but it did serve as a gentle reminder that Lucille was above humankind. From this relaxed position she continued. "So really, the question isn't what I want, but what you want." The faintest hint of a smile appeared on her lips. "But you have to give me a name. Surely a fox-girl like you has a cute name, no? On that same subject: my name is Lucille. You can call me Lucy if you like."
Name:: Odinn Wierike Nickname/Alias:: The Riftwalker, The Singularity Gender:: Male Age and date of birth:: 24; March 30th
Guild:: Harpy's Wing
Rank:: S
Personal Information
Personality:: Odinn doesn't look like much and he doesn't act like much either. He's lazy, casual, and often passive. He doesn't even particularly like fighting. If he could always have his way he'd do a whole lot of nothing. Instead he just does the what he has to and not a thing more. Only in extreme circumstances will he ever convince himself to go the extra mile. Despite seeing himself as powerful he doesn't consider using his full power unless lives are on the line, otherwise he's perfectly content losing a fight just to avoid exerting any kind of effort. Attacking his pride or attempting to humiliate him is utterly useless, though a decent way to anger Odinn is to use threats. He can retain his calm and lazy attitude while kicking ass and he knows it, but he also knows that he can control his anger. It only becomes motivation to actually try. And nobody facing Odinn will ever truly want that.
History:: The early life of Odinn Wierike is rather unremarkable. He was born and raised in Luna Crescente, his parents being fairly prosperous merchants. The success of his family is what many believe to be the reason for his present day laziness. Anyways, it wasn't discovered that he had magic until the dark day when a Dark Guild waged war on Harpy's Wing in the middle of the city. Ultimately it cost his family their lives in the chaos, but the silver lining was Odinn's new Rift Magic.
The ability to create portals was initially perceived as something more like a parlor trick. Even after he joined Harpy's Wing, choosing the older guild over the newly formed Golem's Hand, many didn't respect a teenage Odinn for both his laidback nature and seeming lack of power. It wasn't until he started getting creative out of boredom did anyone see the true potential of his Rift Magic. It wasn't just useful, it was powerful. He could complete jobs by himself with minimal effort. Enemies couldn't touch him and were little more than toys for his amusement. His personality didn't change but respect began to come his way after due diligence. Odinn may be lazy, but he's strong and reliable. He never picked any fights himself and not many want to fight him at all. His laziness could result in an opponent being sent halfway across the world just so Odinn could save time and avoid fighting them. Everyone came to know that and he eventually was considered an S-rank wizard. Now he spends his time doing missions every now and then but mostly lounging at the guild hall and seeing how many drinks he can get for free.
Magic
Magic Name:: Rift Magic Description:: The creation and manipulation of portals, known as Rifts due to their physics-breaking traits and their other-worldly appearances. These Rifts can be made to an incredible size and used at incredible distances, making this a very powerful magic. Rifts cannot be closed while a living creature is inside them, but they can force said living creature to go either all the way through or not go through at all depending on how far into the Rift their body is. Objects, however, can have Rifts closed on them. One cannot look through a Rift to see on the other side, as all Rifts have a "spacey" appearance of pure black with specks of white "stars" across them. Rifts can only be entered from one side, the un-enterable side has no "stars" to make a visual distinction. Rifts, even after they have been formed, can be moved and re-sized to add further utility or versatility. Traveling between Rifts is instantaneous, akin to teleportation, though moving a Rift itself is not nearly that fast. The size of the Rifts and the distance between them determines how much magic it takes to create and operate them, but they are fairly efficient to use in general allowing liberal creation in combat scenarios. While he can create a lot of them with little consequences it does require a certain amount of focus to do so. Stress, or any suitable distraction, greatly hinders Odinn's Rifts. Their placement, size, and shape take a hit if he doesn't pay attention to what he's doing or if he panics. Known Spells::
*These are more like techniques than unique spells, as Rift Magic is fairly straightforward and relies on creativity rather than distinctive and specific uses.*
World Range Travel - The most lame basic use of Rift Magic. Odinn creates one Rift near himself and the other at the approximate location of where he wants to be. Since it goes on Odinn's memories and knowledge the second Rift isn't the most accurate but getting a free and easy trip across a continent is nothing to complain about even if you have to walk a few blocks after you get out of the Rift.
World Shattering Dome - Dozens of Rifts surround Odinn in a dome while an identical dome surrounds his enemy. This allows Odinn to send attacks into the small Rifts around him which in turn come from random and unpredictable angles around his opponent. While they can strike back through Rifts they don't have the same advantage as Odinn as he knows which Rifts are linked to each other and is better equipped to avoid their counter-attacks. The Rifts are too small to completely go through and are packed closely enough together that this also serves as a way to trap an enemy, though it also traps Odinn in the same manner.
World Fleeting Dome - Similar to the above plan, the enemy is surrounded by dozens of Rifts. However these Rifts are larger and linked to each other. This is a trapping technique, keeping them in the confines of the dome. Only attacks or spells that can fit between the gaps of the Rifts (or go through the ground) can make it through. If caught on someone in mid-air then they will be perpetually flung between the various Rifts thanks to gravity and physics, while also cutting off another potential escape route.
World Roundabout Escape - One Rift is created near Odinn and the other near his opponent. The Rift near his foe will then move towards the foe, to force them to be teleported through it, while Odinn times an attack on his end so as to catch them the moment they come through with a charged-up punch or kick. Alternatively this can just be used to keep opponents from running away.
World Wide Caging - By creating dozens of Rifts in a circle along the ground, Odinn will create large pillars of stone to surround the battlefield. These can cut off escape or work in conjunction with World Crushing Cataclysm by creating an aboveground man-made lake. The pillars' height is variable, but can easily be upwards of 100m. Much higher if Odinn wants, but beyond that is just plain excessive.
World Ending Wave - The most deviant of the Rift Magic arsenal, one Rift is created facing an opponent while the other is created at a microscopic size inside of Odinn himself. The Rift inside him serves as a magnifying glass for his ethernano, allowing him to create a pressurized blast of pure magic from the other Rift. This "laser" of magic is quite powerful but it is also quite taxing to use. This is hands-down the least cost effective spell Odinn has and he won't be able to use it much more than once or twice in a battle, and that's being generous.

Relatives:: Odinn's parents have passed away, but he has two cousins that live in the capital of Fiore, Crocus. Identical twins Mara and Maya are his younger, teenage cousins. They are not magically adept or fighters in any way, but they enjoy watching wizards use magic. Ironically they think Odinn is lame and refuse to believe that he is truly S-class, but they also have seen very little of his skill. Something that is Odinn's choice but he doesn't care enough either way.
Possessions:: Odinn doesn't really own much. Not even a place of his own. The lazy bastard lives at Harpy's Wing. The only thing in his possession besides clothing is a dictionary, for the express purpose of looking up random words to irritate the people around him.
