Welcome to the world of pokemon. This world is inhabited by the astounding creatures with amazing power known as pokemon, but we nearly lost them all. Over two hundred years ago Humanity has realized that their ways were going to lead the world to ruin. Pollution and urbanization were growing, and the pokemon we relied on weren’t able to cope. Horrible diseases started to affect pokemon, and lead to millions of all species dying off. It was decided that in order to protect the being who we shared this world with that humans had to cut back had to work to limit our expansion, but we couldn’t just stop. We had to go somewhere.
Then the Deoxys event occurred. A mysterious pokemon arrived on earth from beyond the stars. This shook the foundations of the world proving there to be pokemon on other planets. This sparked a revolution where we shot for the stars and focused on making a new start in space. People were already disciplined and had seen what horrors could come if they were not careful, so they hoped not to repeat the process just on a new world.
The earth still grew worse in condition populations growing and resources needed for this new space age. We tried to save the world, but there was no way we could save ourselves and the world. Mass evacuations were mandated as humans fled into space. The world had succumb to the poisons we created. Some refused to leave and stayed on the dying planet hoping to one day restore it. They started small villages struggling together with their pokemon to survive. Over two hundred years they’ve carried on as the world has begun to grow back.
These small towns have two kinds of people citizens who maintain the village growing food and handling supplies, and trainers the protectors of the villages as well as the ones who travel around to help bring nature back to the ruins. They salvage the old tech bringing it back to be re-purposed to maintain the town as efficiently as possible. The trainers have to balance the protection of nature and the towns. They also are the only ones who are allowed to train pokemon for combat. It’s considered wrong for most normal people to do so as they don’t want to impact wild pokemon populations too much. Trainers can catch at their own discretion, but normal citizens can only have work pokemon (gurders, miltank, etc.) and one pet to a family (but again cannot be trained as a combat pokemon)

Hi, so I’ve been throwing around this RP for about 6 years now. It’s sort of my magnum opus that never works out. Something has ALWAYS come up when I try to run it be it pneumonia or me losing my computer or just losing inspiration. So here I go again. It’ll be a fairly large group I hope which will be sent on separate jobs if we have enough. I either will run this with my character playing the Trainer Head (the commander of the trainers basically), or with a normal trainer like the rest based on the number of people.
The RP focuses on the trainers and the various things they have to do as really they are the only group who can safely traverse the wilderness and ruins. I have hundreds of ideas of scenarios that should fit anything you want to do here.
One thing I will keep or get rid of based on people’s thoughts is if pokemon are eaten. I for one like the idea and have it all explained by this idea. Wild pokemon are well wild. They don’t think they are just monsters, BUT if they are trained and tamed by a trainer something happens that causes them to gain logic and reason. Certain pokemon already have this and would never be eaten like Lucario or Alakazam.
Either way pokemon will die same with characters. This may not be the normal super dismal dark as satan’s soul apocalypse story, but this after some serious shit, and it is life or death for these people.
Really I’m trying to keep this all really open otherwise. To be honest co-GM would be great. Especially if groups get split up so I have someone else who can take charge now and then. Any thoughts are welcome. Also this was written at 1:30am so sorry if I messed something up. If it was more than an interest check I’d worry more about spelling and grammar.
