The Rise of the Guardian

"It's okay. It's over. A Dragon beat them." The young man assures her. After checking her head, assesses her further.

The soldiers look confused when asked to lower their weapons, they soon did as the Captain appeared. "Do as she says!" And the rest do. The Dragon soon lowers itself slowly, A mewling growl could be heard, showing that it was relaxing. But now it hurts. Its whole body hurt.

"Medics! Come tend to this Dragon!" He commanded. The three medics came over cautiously though the dragon didn't notice them. One with a bucket of water, set it down near where it was stung. Another came up as the medic with the bucket put her hands in the water pulling her hands out had a ball of water, put them against the wound, and let the water drain in and flush the poison out with the help of the other water user.

The dragon growled in pain but endured what was being done, having taken notice of the help they were providing. It was fighting hard not to snap at the medics.

When they were done the dragon felt much more relaxed and lowered its head to the ground. Laying the rest of its body on the ground.

The young one that saved Scarlet had knelt by her side, pulled out a patch, and started performing first aid. The other was helping their companion who was struggling to get compose himself.

Orion walked up with Ash for he was persistent in following her after she had just woken up after the battle just ended. He stopped halfway from the soldiers after seeing what should be extinct. The Dragon heard the humming that came from within the crowd, its growls still continued but it was lower. It was scared, hurt, and wanted these humans to stop threatening it. It watched as a woman came from the crowd and noticed it was she that was humming. Seeing the hand that was held out, it looks at the hand before stopping its growling. Lowering its head, sniffed her hand for a bit as if unsure before placing its large chin upon her hand. It added some weight like it was nuzzling her hand.

One of the hooded figures made note of what Scarlet had said, going up there with her. He too with orbs of fire in his hands and throws them at the snake-like creature. He didn't see the tail coming and was smacked into a building.

Carth looked up to see Scarlet get smacked into the tree. He felt fear. Finally, someone he was able to call a friend. Someone who he thought he could talk to. "SCARLET!!!" He looks to the beasts, his eyes golden and sharp.

He was furious, pain ignored. He lets out a growl as he can feel a change. His skin starts to turn a dark blue, and his bones and his size begin to grow and change. His clothes rip and tear. His voice changes as growls and screams that turn into roars. His arms morph into wings. Before the hooded figures and soldiers knew it, Carth was no longer there and instead place with a dragon, a good several feet bigger than the creatures they were fighting.

It roared in anger as it makes its way toward them. One strikes out, the dragon dodges as it then goes and clamps its jaw near its head and was suddenly breathing fire, making that spot burned, charred, and to the bone. The dragon let go of the body as it crashed to the ground. The other snake took the opportunity to wrap itself around the dragon, trying to constrict it. The dragon roared as it tried to go a bit only to get jabbed with the stinger. The dragon screamed in pain and bit the snake's body, the tail released as the dragon shook its head to try and wriggle the snake lose of him.

The snake hisses in pain and loosens. The Dragon uses its feet and wings and gets loose, turning itself and roaring at the snake before goes and biting near its head, clamping down as the snake flails till it goes lifeless.

Dropping the bloody body from its mouth, it growled at the pain it was feeling. It curled its tail around its wings and feet. It begins to growl as soldiers begin to surround it.

The two hooded figures had gone to Scarlet and their companion to assess their wounds.

Before Scarlet could hit the wall, Scarlet would hit against something a tad softer and grunted as it caught her. "You alright miss?" A young male voice asks.

Carth struggles to get on his feet, his forearm intensifying the pain. He winces, looking up at the beasts that, he could feel his anger rise within his chest. He was frustrated. Carth wanted to protect Ash. She was nearby and he couldn't lose her.

The other two slid down the body of the snake they were on which only angered it more. They slipped dropped and slipped into the shadows. They appeared beside Scarlet and her savior. "These things are quite resilient." One admits. The other grunted.

Carth felt his forearm ache, but keeping his cool and ignoring the pain. He wouldn't let it stop him, especially when they had to eliminate these massive creatures. Looking at Scarlet, he looked back to the beasts to see three figures on the rooftops going after the creatures. Soldiers were heading to face the monsters while others were guiding the citizens to the safety of the barracks.

Of the three figures running the rooftops, one of them suddenly hangs back as they draw their bow, aim, and fire. The arrow shot faster than the eye almost can't see. Carth was quite amazed. The other two climbed one of the taller buildings before jumping off, landing on the body of one of the snakes with their swords. The snake cries out as the other one hisses at the soldiers.

Carth looks to Scarlet. "Let's try to get them out of the fort!" He runs toward the danger, and as he gets close, one of the snakes whips its tail sending some of the soldiers flying and making Carth skid back on his feet. He runs at the snakes again with embuing heat to his sword. He tries to go at it only to get slammed by a tail and crash into the ground and roll.

As the separation happened there was a rumbling that could be heard throughout the fort in the mountains. Small tremors were occurring throughout the town before an explosion happened near the center of town.

Carth quickly turned toward the explosion. It wasn't far off and he realized that Ash could be in danger. He rushes toward the explosion with haste. What the two don't notice is that the two mysterious eyes make their way toward the explosion as well.

Once they are there, what they witness is a large hole in the side of the fort with a pair of large snakes. But not just any snakes, for they have a scorpion tail and bird-like wings. Carth drew his sword and readied himself for a fight. "Oh shit...."

Carth nodded. "Good idea. See you at the Doctor, Happy hunting." He gives her a wink and a big grin before departing from Scarlet's side and heading in an alternate direction but not far from Scarlet in case he doesn't get followed.

"Maybe split off and psych out our followers and if they make a move at us, take out in self-defense. Looks good on us and get them off our hair when we report them to the guards." He suggests in a whisper as he was imagining it in his head.

Carth made his way toward their quarters. Hands hooked to his belt, relaxed, calm, and thinking of so many ways to get at the two potential stalkers. They would have to just make sure to not lead them to Ash in any sort of fashion. Just straight where they needed to go. He leans in a little toward Scarlet. "Think we're being followed?"

Carth nodded while continuing his meal. Once he was done, he waited for Scarlet and would offer to take her tray and take care of it before coming back. "Shall we entertain ourselves?" He asks with a mischievous smile.
