The Rise of the Guardian

They looked to each other unsure what to say. But to know that there were dragons besides Carth was news. "Was it the Mistress that turned them to stone?" Maltoran asked Shinlo.

Carth smiled though blushed. "That's good. Glad I can help." He felt, happy. He wondered what they were talking about in the other room. But that could wait. Ash needed him.

Now everyone was even more confused. "Wait. A stone curse?" Kanarus asked.
"Human no going back?" Maltoran was next to ask.
Orion sighed. "Sounds like we need to know what happened way back when. Curse and all."

Carth thought about it and shrugged. "Could be. We can ask him later. How are you feeling? Is the heat I'm producing helping at all?" He asks her. Making sure he isn't making her too hot or cold. Though he was trying to be super careful. Not that he was afraid of hurting Ash, but that how he was holing onto her while they were laying on the bed together.

Orion gives a curt nod to the man. "Orion. Recently appointed healer of the group. And luckily she didn't ruin the bandages I put on her. Still gotta give it a few hours before they can come off." He explains before sitting grabbing a chair. "So other than this Mistress we gotta keep from getting to Ash till she remembers everything, how come Carth is the first dragon the world has probably seen in years and takes a human form?" He asks.

Carth hummed at her realization. "So maybe...there are more out there? Others like me?" He asks her.

Carth shook his head while moving his hand to wipe her tears. "Do not be sorry. As I said before, you are relearning your abilities and yourself. It was an accident and you have done nothing to me." He explains.

The three men frowned hearing this. They now know the enemy and target they must face. "It seems we know our new task at hand. Ash though may not remember, but she will need our help." Maltoran confirmed. The other two nodded.

"And it seems you'll have a healer to make sure you don't get you asses killed so easily." Orion said as he walked in. He looked to the new body in the room and examines him and the snake. "So I guess this newcomer knows a thing or two?" He asks, sounding straightforward.

Carth nodded and got up. He took off some of his gear to make it more comfortable for both of them before climbing onto the bed and laying behind Ash. He wrapped his arms carefully around her before rising his body temperature slowly. As he did that, Orion covered them them up to help keep the heat from escaping so easily. He then leaves the room to join the others.

"I see. That is an interesting skill." Kanarus exclaimed with intrigued. Altoron wondered something. "What exactly can you tell us about Ash? Anything that can be done to help her?" He asks Shinlo. Altoron was a little frustrated with Shinlo not explaining he could about Ash though he guess it couldn't be helped.

Carth frowned before looking to Orion. Though he had an idea. He looked to Ash. "Your shaking too much. What if I lay down next to you and warm you up. Just to help that is all." He states, making sure the last part was clear on what he was only trying to do. He saw how her shaking lessened when he raised his body temperature. Maybe she was cold or the heat helped with the injuries. Who knows but it seemed like it was worth a try. Orion seemed to think on this before nodding in agreement.

Kanarus seemed interested in learning about mana control. "How does it work exactly?" He asks.

The assassins looked from Scarlet to Shinlo. "Other than Carth whomever may know all of what we know, what say you? What do you know Ash and her past? Are the stories written true?" Maltoran asked him curiously.

Carth wondered himself. "Maybe memory that is trying to resurface. Who knows. We have been trying to help come together to theorize. To see what we know and clues we've noticed. How about letting us do the thinking and once your more relaxed and calm, we can go over the facts and theories. We want you to get better. Let us do this much for you, hm?" Carth asks, almost pleading. Which in itself was rare of him. He just want her to just get better and just rely on them than to push them away when it mattered so badly.

They nodded to the man named Shinlo and the snake named Isis. They looked to each other and Scarlet before answering. "Her wind is a secondary element, she calmed down Carth after he transformed into a dragon and took down two scorpion like snakes." Altoron listed.

"She has a fan blade for a weapon, and doesn't know about some runes she has on her body." Maltoran continued the list.

"She also had an other worldly voice when her eyes turn silver and was able to pull mana from someone when Carth was in danger." Kanarus explained before looking to Scarlet, knowing she had to have more information since she and Carth had been with Ash the longest.

"It may not be normal but you are relearning new things about yourself. Through extreme situations. How were you to know about it and control it?" He asks. "Right now you should be more worried about getting better."

Orion sighs in relief. "Despite how far you got, your bandages are fine. The Aloe still needs to work it's course before I can use any other healing ointment."

"We are about to find out. He seems to know quite a bit about Ash and the men we encountered." Altoron explained. "My name is Altoron. This is Maltoran, Kanarus, and Scarlet. And you are?"

As Orion was checking her bandages, Carth shakes his head. "No, you are just fine. Stop saying that. From what I was told it was two of the Assassin's that delivered the final blow. Not you." Carth explained.

The two assassins nodded before seeing Kanarus and Scarlet when they made it back. Carth looked to Scarlet when she came up to them. "She will be. She needs rest and help." He responds. Makes his way to the door. Maltoran helps get the door while the other two follow.

Once inside Orion gets up as he goes toward the room Ash was in. "Carth, this way. I need to check her wraps." He motions Carth toward him. Carth follows and goes into the room before setting her on the bed gently.

The three assassins escort the stranger into the main room. Two sit on the couch while Kanarus motions to Scarlet to a chair then motioning the stranger to the other before sitting down himself.
