"Ken, nice to meet you." He directed his attention towards Yasmin. "You can really play the piano, yeah? I think it sounds lovely. Wish I could play like that, I have no musical abiliy."

Ken shifted himself towards the girl not playing the piano. He smiled at her and nodded.
"Yeah, got lost in the city on my way here. I thought one too many alleyways were shortcuts."
He shrugged as he said this. "But hey, what can you do, right?"

Ken huffed with relief as he locked his bike at a bike stand. This is the place then, huh? He was happy that he finally got there. Iziel high... Not bad, not bad at all. He got lost within the twists and turns of the town on his way to school, and he hoped he wasn't to late. He pulled out his phone to check the time.

"Alright, classes shouldn't be going on right now." Ken muttered to himself. "Guess I'll just wander for a bit." He hiked up his backpack and walked around aimlessly for a bit, before finding the music room and hearing the sound of a piano being played. Woah that's top notch! I gotta see this. He made his way to the piano room to see a girl with a tear stained face playing the piano. Ken felt compelled to say something.

"Hey that's... Really pretty." Ken said to the girl. "Where did you learn to play like that?" As he finished his sentence, he glanced over his shoulder to see two others also in the room. A boy, who he would describe as sorta goth-y emo-y and a girl, who he would describe as plain. Still, they seemed cool enough. They also seemed to be enjoying the music like him, but they were more involved with each other.
"You guys enjoying the music too, huh?"

Ken

Ken Isiah Leward
Age: 16

Apperance: Ken stands at 5' 10" and weighs about 185 pounds of mostly lean muscle. His skin is pale and his eyes are a bright blue. His wardrobe is generally consists of blue jeans and dark colored hoodies, but underneath his hoodies he tends to wear a variety of colored shirts. He tends to lean towards a lighter colored undershirt, but he isn't opposed to darker colors from time to time.

"Hey, it's life, and I'm just glad to be living it."

Bio:
Ken lived in an upper class family with lower class parents, as they barely cared about him. Of course they fed him and gave him shelter, but showed little emotion towards him. Ken viewed them as robots who were programmed to take care of him until he could do it himself, so he was thankful for the time that they did provide for him. At the age of 16, his spectral scythe power was starting to develop and his parents were quick to send him off to Iziel High School and get him his own small apartment, where he is far away from them. They send him money for food and pay the utility bills for him, but they never visit him at all.

Strangely enough, Ken was always thankful for what he has, something unusual from kids in his situation. He always has been down to earth and tried to ask his parents for very little extra things in life, such as a nice computer, his own TV, or the hottest new gaming console. Before he was sent away, Ken tried to work for these things and buy them with his own money when he was of age to, and he took pride in it.

Ability:

Spectral Scythe

Ken can summon a spectral Scythe on command. It's handle is about 4 feet in length and it's blade is 1 and a half feet long and 6 inches thick. The scythe is weightless to Ken, but the weapon's force would be equivalent to the force of a scythe of it's size made of lead.

Special Scythe Abilities:
If the Scythe slashes from the brain to the heart of it's target (i.e a downward slash from the head to the heart,) it can rip out the target's soul. While this effect only lasts about 15 seconds at most, this leaves the body slumped and vulnerable for Ken to attack. Ken has only done this once, when he was being robbed on his way home late one night. He didn't attack the body, but the robber fled after having his soul ripped out, scared shitless. "I... I never want to do that again. It was almost like I killed him... And that's not me..."

"Sometimes you gotta just sit back, close your eyes, and just listen, ya know? Maybe you'll find something you didn't know was there."

Listening to the Dead

While he cannot see them, Ken can focus his hearing to hear the spectral world. While he himself cannot talk to them naturally, he can hear what they are saying and will sometime listen to their wandering souls and what they have to say.

Background: It was strange growing up for Lorek, as he was the only one of his specific species he would see for miles. He was a typical orphan story, or at least he thought. He assumed his parents found him undesirable or couldn't keep him, so they dropped him off in front of some random house on Gran Pulse, hoping the people there would take him in. Fortunately, they did, and raised Lorek as their own. The eldery couple lived in one of the many rural villages that were scattered across Cocoon and he lived a peaceful, uneventful life until he outlived his adopted parents and became 25, still relatively young for a moogle. No longer tied down to the village, he went out to explore for the legendary Moogle Village to try and seek out his own kind.

As he traveled the dangerous world of Gran Pulse, he learned various black magic spells and became proficient in using them. He learned them from the various Cie'th stones all around the land of Gran Pulse. He has spent three years searching for Moogle Village on Gran Pulse, but has still yet to find it.

Motive: He views Cocoon's gathering of crystals as a military conquest and they'll eventually destroy Gran Pulse once they reach their technological renaissance.

Extra Information: He is 28 years old, still technically in the age of adolescence for moogles.
