Looks like great fun - I'm in. Shall work on a CS immediately!
@Beach Burrito

Or as the central pole for your tent/ger.

Honestly, why would anyone not want a stave/spear? It's like the Swiss Army Knife of traditional weaponry!
I'm back properly now - obviously I have work (*grumble*) but my days off are actually that - a day off.

Looking forward to crackin' some heads!
@Beach Burrito

Plus staves and spears can double as walking sticks for your long journeys on foot!

Get me - like something off the telemarketing channel. Get your stave today - great for crackin' some skulls but also useful when you just want to have a nice amble with the family!
I'm keeping things open in terms of whether we go after the thugs or the monster-thing.

That or Nova and Alexis can go help with the monster-thing and then Overwatch can repay the favour with the thugs.
@WeepingLiberty

"Probably. They're just low level thugs so they'll be needing some direction, I guess." Alexis agreed, flicking through a couple of TV channels. "Something about this thing with Flashbang earlier is eating at me, to be honest. Whatever made him go Hulk-smash can't be a one off and he is - was - hardly a criminal mastermind; there must be someone else out there sourcing this stuff." She unconsciously corrected herself, highlighting her kill. Over the years she had developed the habit of being particular about those who had certainly died and those who hadn't; it was probably her subconscious trying to remind her of the many lives she had taken over the years.

"You know, this thing is basically a drug. So it's likely that it'll be on the black market, like other illegal substances. Right?" She was chewing her lip as she collapsed onto a sofa with a sigh, flicking through so more channels; so far it was all middle-of-the-day soaps and business adverts. "So gangs like these are going to be our best way to find out who is dealing it out. I guess we'll have to make sure at least the leader's still alive for interrogation afterwards." She had both her hands wrapped around her mug as she took a sip from it, a huge thing that looked big enough to hold a pint of the beverage, enjoying the warmth it provided. Returning to flicking through the channels she stopped, switching back to local news footage.

At first she had thought it was some shoddy horror film but it was one of those 24 hour news channels and right now they were filming, apparently live, some kind of monster and a team combating it.

"Erm, Nova. I think we might need to drop the thugs for a bit - that thing probably poses a few more problems."
Rhiannon nodded, satisfied with the Director's, and the Angels', answers. She had suspected that there would be a logical reason but she disliked being kept in the dark, especially when it came to information that their lives could be dependent upon. She sat down and let the rest of the presentation go ahead, her only query now answered. There was some disagreement amongst her fellow Guardians but that was hardly unexpected what with so many of them going missing recently. She hadn't lost any friends she knew that well but she could sympathise; the same thing had happened back home, where she had escaped from.

It was hard to get a measure on the two Angels, that much was certain. She knew from experience that it would be wrong to assess them as an emotionless robot and then a 'normal' guy; considering they had been chosen as Angels Rhiannon was sure that they were considerably more complex than first met the eye. She had rarely come across a 'normal' person who had succeeded in the Guardian programme and she figured that anyone from this new, more challenging one would have to be quite exceptional. Thus, and without complaint, she went after their new leader and fell into step beside him. She wasn't particularly eager; she just wanted to get acquainted with the new space and Caden as quickly as possible. There'd be less time for it down the road, after all and it never bode well when one did not know or trust their leader and protector much.

"Are you two the only Angels then? I mean... were there others who didn't make it?" Realising this wasn't the best opening gambit, she quickly switched tact. "Oh, and as you know I'm Rhiannon. I look forward to working with you, Caden."
@Darcs

Well, it was a match for the Cylon capital ships and Galactica was the oldest one around so there's no surprise it kept breaking down.

Pegasus was better though. It just lacked the charm.
@Monochromatic Rainbow

Hypestar Galactica.

I strongly urge you to watch the show if you haven't already - I'd put it up there with Firefly in the Sci-Fi Hall of Awesome.
