Weekend has been a bit busier than expected, bear with me, OOC and Discord coming soon
Looks familiar.

Also looks fun! Good luck boys. :D

Just got a wave of nostalgia

Edit: I'd also not rather play a canon character. Maybe a Lady of a House or a Lord?

Please, let your imagination run wild! This is meant to be quite a freeform roleplay, those are just some suggested characters to get the ball rolling!

I think we've got a healthy dose of interest so you should hopefully see a OOC on the morrow

“Jenny!!!” Duncan's voice didn't sound like his own; he'd worn his lungs hoarse from calling her name and there was more ash in him than air now. His cough when it came was spluttering and brought him down to his knees, the heat from the flames around burned at every inch of him, it took all he had for the Prince of Dragonflies just to get to his feet. “Jenny!!!”

With each step further in Duncan cursed his father, Egg had taken the crown from him, taken Jenny and now he was about to take his life. King Aegon V The Unlikely had been a good ruler, but never a good father. Now with his last maddening attempt at sorcery he'd burned all his family to ash and the seven kingdoms would soon follow them.
“Jenny!!!”

Duncan didn't care about the Seven-Kingdoms though, he didn't care about lords or wars or claims, he only wanted his Jenny of Oldstones back.

“...Duncan” The prince spun round, afraid for a moment he'd imagined it in the inferno, until, just faintly, he heard her again. The cough, the ash, the fire, all were forgotten in an instant as he charged through the wreckage to her. Through a ruined archway, trapped under a fallen beam, she lay there like a broken statue, beautiful even now.

“Duncan, you came back...”

“I couldn't ever leave you.” He managed a smile, three knights had not been able to stop him running back into the burning palace, the thought of losing her scared him more than any wild-fire. Gingerly he tried to shift the some of debris but the wince on her face told him she was going nowhere. “We should of ran away Jenny.” Tears were running down his cheeks as he whispered to her. “Just ridden off, you and me, left the courts and the politics and my father all behind us.” Jenny of Oldstones smiled sadly at him as the flames began to engulf the two of them, then she looked at something past him and he followed her gaze.

The last thing Prince Duncan Targaryen saw in his life before the fire took him was strewn upon the ruined floors of Summerhall the empty shell of a dragon egg.

Welcome! I'm not really much for intros but I've been wanting to scratch the Ice And Fire roleplay itch for a while now so here we go if enough people are interested.

The Targaryens are gone. Burned in the what came to be known as the Tragedy of Summerhall, King Aegon the V, known to some as Egg burned along with Ser Duncan the tall and most of his retainers but unlike the book timeline his son Jaehaerys and grandson Aerys perished in the tragedy as well and Westeros is left without a clear successor...Meanwhile Maelys the Monstrous - last of the Blackfyre pretenders is leading the band of Nine-Penny-Kings across the Stepstones to conquer his birthright from a divided Westeros.

The roleplay is set before the events in the book and show, it helps to have a bit of an understanding of the lore but you'll find a glance over the wiki when needed can easily suffice. Like many of these RP's it will be a sand-box nature with people free to play any character or house small or large from the Ice and Fire universe and a succession crisis as the theme.

I'm primarily looking for a Co-Gm as well as people interested in playing different claimants (or the people puppetting them) which consist of, but are by no means limited to:

- Ormund Baratheon (husband to Rhaelle Targaryen the king's daughter)
- Maegor Targaryen (Son of exiled Aerion Brightflame, the king's older brother)
- Husband/retainer of Vhaelle Targaryen (the king's simple minded niece)
- Maelys Blackfyre

At the moment I'm planning to play the former Hand who'll be moving to seize the throne himself. For the moment this is just an interest check, if we get 5-6 people we should be good to go and I'll whip up an OOC and a Discord channel for us.
NAME: Lord Richard Hasting
SEX: Male
DATE OF BIRTH: 1689 (28)
PLACE OF BIRTH; Cambridge, England
BACKSTORY:
To say that Richard Hasting was born with a silver spoon in his mouth would be putting it mildly. His father was an admiral and an earl so the young Richard wanted for little in life and as such always took his high station and easy living for granted. Growing up he swam in high-society, young and hedonistic his main activities in life were gambling, drinking himself into a stupor with his aristocratic friends and deflowering naive young women.

At the insistence of his father Richard entered into the Royal Navy from a young age, his family's influence consistently securing him increasing rank vastly disproportionate to anything he deserved and generally allowed him to windle his way into cushy posts. But one fateful July day off the coast of Mexico his life would change forever.

Hasting was assigned the role of overseeing an escort for a South Sea Company ship trading across the Spanish Indies, a task he undertook with his characteristic lack of vigour. When a ship with crimson sails was spotted on the horizon it took him longer than it should have to realise they were under attack, admittedly his lack of sobriety didn't help him. Despite strongly outgunning their opponents "The Bucephalus" seemed to run rings around Hasting and his crew. Outmanoeuvred at every turn, the battle quickly began to go south.

Cowardice was what saved Richard Hasting that day. As soon as he saw the day was lost he and some of the officers made their escape on a lifeboat amidst the chaos. After some time adrift the deserters were picked up by a passing merchant vessel and returned to England in disgrace.

Scorned and dishonoured Richard's ordeal left him a changed man. It was as if scales had fallen from his eyes, the near death experience showing him the futility of his life up until that point. He was left a bitter and hollow man, finding no joy in his former reckless lifestyle. As time passed though Richard became more and more sure what he had to do. Using the last of what little influence he had left (and a few well placed 'donations') Richard was able to assume captainship of the fearsome HMS Relentless with the mission to patrol the Caribbean to reign in the threat of pirates and for him a chance a redemption and revenge.

APPEARANCE:

MOTIVATION: (this is optional)
SKILLS/STRENGTHS:
- Educated and a well trained seaman, Hasting epitomises the English gentleman in all except his morals.
- A notably gifted swordsman

WEAKNESSES:
- Hasting is obsessive to the point of recklessness and tends to have little regard for his crew's wellbeing.
- His ordeal at sea has left him with intermittent splitting headaches.

ROLE ON SHIP: Captain
NAME OF SHIP: HMS Relentless
SHIP DESCRIPTION/SPECS:
A 45m long 70-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy. Painted in basic yet striking yellow and black stripes with white sails, the British flag proudly hoisted and a bust of stern Britannia at the helm.

((Not too savvy with the period, happy to change any details to fit historically. Thought chasing after PC's would make things interesting but I don't want to step on any toes, so this can be changed if people want))

Let the War of Wolves begin!

Expanded the lore a tincy-bit and yes I am the kind of person who photoshops his own sigils.
House Redbeard

House Redbeard was founded by the Gerrick Kingsblood, who along with thousands of other wildlings crossed through to the south and swore an oath to Lord Commander Jon Snow to help defend the wall in return for safe passage. Due to his claim of descent from the legendary King Beyond the Wall Raymun Redbeard he and his clan were looked upon more favourably by the southron lords what with the south giving precedence to ancestry. He was given the title 'King of the Wildlings' by Queen Selyse Baratheon and even married his daughters off to several minor Stormlords.

However this respect did not extend to other wildlings. It was widely believed that House Redbeard did not descend from the infamous Raymun Redbeard but instead from younger brother Red-Raven, notable for having fled the Battle OF Long-Lake.

Haegon Longwaters "The Deaf Dragon"

- Widely considered to be worst bard in Westeros
- Inherently quite vain and petty, he's well aware of how bad at singing he is but likes to make people listen and hear their forced compliments
- Did genuinely want to be a bard and resents the position in life he has found himself in

History:
Haegon had dreams of being a bard from an early age, however he was not blessed with even the barest scrap of musical talent, he found himself shunned wherever he attempted to ply his trade even earning a reputation as the worst bard in Westeros. His mother, a woman overly proud of her lineage thought this ill-fitting of a blood of the dragon. Calling in favours from across the narrow-sea she was able to secure him a place working for the Iron-Bank. Although he loathed it there, young Haegon had an undeniable talent with numbers and his knowlege of Westeros proved useful to the organisation.
