Bio

So... Bio's are a thing now. Fancy.

Anywho!
25 y/o guy, currently student and living by myself, yada yada.

Veteran Roleplayer, with over 7-8 years of experience in both Pen & Paper and text based, with minimal LARP Experience. I have a great interest in fantasy settings and tends to dislike Post Apocalypse, or generally anything involving guns and modern weaponry. Gimme a sword and the ability to throw fire, and I'm happy.

I have relatively high standards and find myself somewhat disappointed if my posts are below 500 words, preferring ~1000+ whenever possible (sadly, not always easy). At the same time I expect similar standards from my fellow players. I also have a tendency to play female characters in spite of my being a guy, mainly because I find it more entertaining than playing the big burly guy.

Fair enough. But yeah, given a closer inspection this looks quite promising... although I must say I can sort of see a lot of common anime influences in it, been watching too much anime Kappa? :P

maayyybe... <.<

Yeah, I like Anime, and I may or may not have been tempted to make it Shounen-ish (though without meaning to) via the ludicrous power levels. But then again, it's difficult to do this kind of setting without making it all unbalanced if I were to make their strengths be what they're capable of in Mythology. If that were the case then the Titan Classes would completely obliterate everything else, especially the Dragons. I had to make everythin else OP as well to make it balanced xD

Also, on a side note, the Fae Folk (or Fair Folk) are a varied folk, so while you'll find cute little pixies and graceful elves among them, the scary monsters and abominations of old also lurk under that name :P So... Give me your best shot xD

All righty, 'tis done. Let me know if there are edits that need to be made. I feel like if there are, it'll be in her 'powers' section. I think I've got it set up in a good way (she's still able to use her healing power in human form, but at the cost of a more energy), but if this doesn't work with the system you're envisioning, Kappu, then I'll edit.

Her build remains slender (not as curvy as the photo)

T'is a shame :P

Hmm... You're right. There are a few things with her "Power" section. Or more accurately, her Dryad form. Ironbark, as insinuated, is pretty damn tough. So naturally she would be tough as well (We're talking enough to withstand the blow of a Titan... or a few lows, at least). Generally, when you Shift you become much more durable, even if you're a Fae who are generally somewhat fragile compared to others. So basically, she's tougher in her Shifted form, even if she's made of plants. They're magic plants, after all ;)

Secondly is her mindset. Her mind is the same, but her powers and body changes. So there's no difference between shifted and non-shifted, so healing would always be most powerful when Shifted. It is, however, a rather slow process and can't be done in-combat unless shielded by allies when tending to someone wounded, and even then it's dangerous since someone might slip past your friends.

Also, as a Dryad, your abilities extend past just causing plants and such to grow; You're also able to control them, although not as much or precisely as someone who's focused solely on defense. Still, a wall of really big roots and such is within your abilities as you are a Defender/Supporter.

I may join to bring the olden terror of the fae back into the world, back when they were good old Oh yeah Kappa, you may want to reconsider using the Banshee as a separate spirit creature, technically she is one of the fae from what I remember of Gaelic mythology. Maybe you could say she is a rare type nips into two categories, after all from what I understand, whenever humans try and put things in boxes they are swiftly unraveled upon close inspection as they are often tangled amongst each other like old tree roots.

I know that they are of the Gaelic/Celtic mythology, but they are not magical power houses which is what the Fae are. A Valkyrie isn't a Demon either, but she fits what characterizes a "Demon".

The classes are not to explain their origin, but what they can do.

These people, why are they so fickle?

Well, Ink_Blood had signed up for a few too many RP's, so he decided on what his priorities were... evidently not this one xP

Excellent, then I've dumbed down my non-shifted power enough :) Anything else you'd like to toss my way for me to flesh out a bit more?

Not really. Can't find anything more I'd request changed aside from making it so that he isn't outright mentally handicapped, but just a bit of a slow person who has trouble with interacting with people.

Edit:
As it turns out, I just got word back from Ink_Blood, and he has withdrawn as well. If I remember my 2nd grader's math, we should be 8 at the moment.

Me, Monochromatic, Bweoti, Wilson, Frenetic, Mach, Littlemist(if she returns), and Feisty-Pants.
It seems like we have a few people who are a bit... absent. So far, little word from Bunnita for the past couple days (my last PM has been ignored) and none from Scio ever since his initial comment. I have talked to Frenetic, so she(he?) is still here, working on the character sheet which should be done by tomorrow some time. Apparently finding the right picture is a tricky job :P

This means that we have two spots open. So, Wilson, Feisty? You two willing to give it a go? :)

Could we ask just how powerful this magic is when not shifted? That might help, as we know it gets more powerful shifted, and less so when not, but we don't know by what degree. So obviously we can all kick ass when shifted, but is our magic when not little more than sleight-of-hand? Or would it provide maybe a passive boost to certain abilities (Strength for our giant, either strength/agility for the Valkyrie, speed/agility for the Kitsune, etc...?)That might help clear things up and save a lot of headache.Sorry to hear about your headache btw, Mach. Hope you feel better.

It's not a lot when not Shifted. Lily, for example, would have a higher agility, be faster, and able to weave small illusions, but nothing big or extremely convincing. Your alice, for example, would be a bit stronger and faster, as well as tougher, but nowhere near what she is when Shifted. She wouldn't be able to fly nor really use her "Boosting" magic.

I'd say that Non-Shifted = 5% of your Shifted power. You're still notably stronger than a normal human, but you get much, much more powerful when you Shift.

I was under the assumption that there was some magical abilities while in human form. This is why he can lift about 400 pounds. Not too much, but more than most humans. If I'm mistaken, I'll toss that out, just what I understood. As for the personality change, I meant to change that. I'll get right on it. :)

You do have some in your human form (Non-Shifters have no magic whatsoever), but your magic gets more powerful when you shift. That's the point of it :)

My sheet is neaaarly done, and I really want to finish it. Except I started getting a headache this afternoon, and its only worsened to a near-agonizing level as the night has gone on. Pure stubborness is keeping me typing, and hopefully I finish it. Also, I'd thought we had some weaker abilities while in human form, too. Hoping this is still the case. >.<

Ouch... headaches are never fun. Anywho, looking forward to your character ^^
Bweoti said
Sure, no problem. I've edited my CS under 'personality' to include who he may not like as well as how he acts around those he doesn't like. Feel free to toss more ideas so that I can flesh him out a bit more. Also, I do like the Remedial Classes scenario, which would extend his time in the course.

Also, Bweoti, one thing that I noticed in your character sheet when I re-read it is that you still have it mixed around with how his touch-telekinesis magic works. More in his Giant Form than Human Form because Shifted = Magical powers fully unlocked. Then there's also the matter of his personality. I noticed that his personality changes from Gentle to Warmongering(-ish) in his Giant Form. That isn't the case, or shouldn't be, as he's still the same person, although quite a bit larger.

Would things like clothing also affect this time to shift? Alice for example, wears armor, would this added complexity increase the time noticeably or it it mainly a size issue?

As I recall, I wrote that clothing and such would either disappear, change into something new, or change to accomodate your new form. It won't add extra time as it'll happen at the same time.
