Oh sorry I didn't see the tag. I can make her older.
Hi! Felt like making a character for this. Willing to change whatever if need be.

Hiro stood, stunned at the beauty of Kassandra's voice and dance. He also felt a little guilty that he felt so happy that he was the only one there to watch it. It was like his heart was swelling in size yet also racing faster? He couldn't recall another time he felt like this. But he has never seen or heard anything as beautiful as this either.

Sometime in the middle of her performance, he found himself reaching for his camera in his backpack and taking a few shots. He had turned off the flash so the sound and light wouldn't interrupt the song. There was enough light in the room anyway.

After her performance and after a moment to process exactly what had happened, Hiro clapped. He didn't realize there were tears streaming down his cheeks until now so he took of his glasses to wipe his face.

Of course, this was the time when Kathy came running back into the room. "I got... woah. What happened, Hiro? Are you okay?" she asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Oh.. yeah.. I'm fine.. haha.." he stammered awkwardly. He had forgotten about Kathy a while ago.

Kathy looked at Hiro then at Kassandra and then back at Hiro. "Okay.... Anyway," she said, changing the subject. "Here are some books! Sorry it took a while, there were a lot of pages to print and laminate." She dropped in a laminated, Latin copy of the first book of the Harry Potter series. "Good thing there are a lot of Latin-knowing Harry Potter nerds," she whispered to Hiro.

"Aren't you one of them?" Hiro teased.

"...Shut up."

Interested~! It got all the things I like in it <3
Kathy, once again, translated for Hiro what Kassandra has said.

He thought about it for a moment. "Is there anything that Kassandra could read? I can't imagine we would have anything entertaining to read that was also in Latin. Also... the books would get ruined in the water," he thought aloud.

"I could start translating some books into Latin in my free time and then we can laminate them or something so they can withstand the water," said Kathy, also musing aloud.

"Wouldn't that take forever?"

"True...Oh! Why don't we just look up books in Latin online and print something out and then laminate the pages," Kathy exclaimed.

"That could work," Hiro nodded.

"I'll do that! You can keep Kassandra company in the mean time," Kathy said as she ran off.

Hiro smiled as she watched Kathy run off. He was glad that he was able to trust her and that she was so willing to help Kassandra. But now that he was thinking about it, maybe he should've been the one to go get the book because he wasn't sure how good of company he would be since he and Kassandra couldn't even speak the same language. Did he even know any Latin?

"Per aspera ad astra," he said to the glass, absentmindedly.
Sorry have been busy the last couple of days. Will try to get a post up by tonight
"We will do our best to get you home," Kathy said, motioning toward herself and Hiro. Then she took the time to explain to Hiro what she and Kassandra talked about.

"But how are we going to do that?" Hiro muttered to himself. Not only would they have to get her out of the tank, they would have to do that undetected by all of the other scientists and security team while keeping her in water so she could breath. At least, he assumed he needed water to breath. There was still so much he didn't know about her, but unlike the other scientists, he didn't want to run tests... He wanted to get to know her like a normal person. By talking, even if they didn't speak the same language.

Kathy placed a reassuring hand on Hiro's shoulder. "We'll figure it out. For now, we should make sure she is well enough and has enough strength to escape when the time is right."

Hiro took a deep breath. "You're right... Oh that reminds me." He pulled out some fish from his backpack and slipped it into the tank. "These were really stinking up my backpack," he joked.
Kathy placed her hand over her mouth as she gasped while Hiro beamed proudly. "She's speaking Latin? But it's supposed to be a dead language... No one has spoken it in centuries! Wait! How? Do you think we had ancestors that communicated with her kind in the past?" Kathy was speaking at a thousand words a minute from sheer excitement.

"Uh... Yes, yes and maybe?" Hiro answered as best as he could, hopefully in the right order.

Kathy, remembering that Kassandra was still there, placed her mouth over the glass and said back in Latin, "Yes. I am a friend. Nice to meet you."

Hiro would watch as the two conversed, feeling rather left out and trying his best to pick up a few words here and there. "Um... not to interrupt, but could you teach me some Latin some times, Kathy?"

Kathy smiled, "Of course, Hiro." But then as if she just thought of something, Kathy frowned. "Wait... this is clearly an intelligent, sentient life form.... Why would they be doing those kinds of experiments on her?"

"...That's why I was hoping you would help me with..." He didn't need to finish his sentence for her to understand where they were going with this.

"Ah..." Kathy nodded, then turned back to Kassandra and said in Latin. "We would like to help you in any way we can. Where is your home?"
Yes! I thought that was what we were going for honestly.
