Time to go on semi-hiatus. I'll reply once in a while when I can find the motivation, but until then, I need a break.

Thank you Siaya Dragalorn for creating the banner/header!

Hey, welcome to my profile. I've been writing since I was a kid, and it's something I'm very passionate about. I'm not sure what else to put here, but don't hesitate to reach out if you think we'd hit it off. BTW, I'm an adult, so I would prefer to write with people closer to my age.

Seeking: Not...sure...
Limits: Romance-wise, nothing explicit. But I'm pretty lenient for everything else (within reason).
Reply status as of 1/13/24: Getting back to a decent pace.

Banished. Being struck was nothing compared to that.
Before Kili might muster a response or take action, Fili showed up, just as he used to when they were young. The eldest must have had a sixth sense when it came to Kili being in distress; he always seemed to arrive no matter what the situation was.
As Fili looked to him, Kili swallowed hard, turning his head in the opposite direction in an attempt to hide any evidence of being hit. He was humiliated to have been struck by their uncle, and devastated by the threats made towards he and their godmother. As Fili came between them, the youngest regained his footing and grasped for Fili's wrist. "Fili, don't!" Kili didn't want the same to happen to his brother; he knew how loyal Fili was to their uncle, and he didn't want to be the cause of further conflict between them.

Thorin's jaw was set in a grim like as he faced his eldest nephew. "Your brother has spoken out of turn," he snarled, enraged that both of his sister's sons were against him. Fili's tone of voice did nothing but agitate him; he now found fault in him, too.
Every thought that entered the king's head was askew; he was constantly defensive and casting blame on the ones closest to him. As the days dragged on, Thorin became more and more unhinged, consumed by his desire to have the Arkenstone returned to him.
"The she-elf has turned him against me, Fili..." The king observed his nephew, his eyes lacking their normal shade of blue. "Has she turned you against me as well?"
Update: I've fixed it.
Ahh ok I was confused by that. I'll change that bit out when I get my laptop.
Alright, I've updated it. c:
Ooh, I like that. :) Ok, I'll add on to it right now.
Ha! That gif is amazing! What movie is that from??

The World Jumping write-up was imaginative, intriguing, and flawless as ever. :D I loved reading that! I feel very well informed, too. I can't think of any questions right yet, but I may or may not have some questions once we near the portal, depending on how our characters get past the police. Miles to the rescue!

A garage sale would be fantastic! I shudder to think how much money I may have been able to make with garage sales. Unfortunately...everything goes to Goodwill, since we live out in the sticks, and no one in their right mind comes out this way. If something has value, I end up selling on eBay. I'm not brave enough to use Craigslist, though it would be neat since there's no fees. :3 And, yes...she is insanely driven. I have no idea where that kid gets her energy.

I just finished listening to chapter 7, (the headphones worked!) so I've finally gotten to the Cheshire Cat and the Hatter! I've noticed that, so far, the animated version followed along with the story pretty closely! I can't really blame Disney for omitting the whole...pig baby scene? That was unexpected and oddly disturbing.

& You're so welcome! I really enjoy looking at your artwork. You have talent! Keep it up. :D I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Foisting off the blame didn't go over well. At all. The accusation ignited Elaya's temper, and she didn't hesitate to set the facts straight. Ghent stepped back, but not far enough to escape her wrath. Eyes wide, he looked to the finger she'd jammed against his chest, amazed by the intolerance she had for his comments.
"Alright, alright! You didn't bring them, they followed you," he attempted to reword what he'd said, even though it was too late for that. He'd scarcely a chance to defend himself; Elaya was so riled that he'd no choice but to stand still, shut up, and listen.
At first, Ghent was prepared to argue. As Elayra went on, he started to see the bigger picture. He started to understand why she was justified in her anger.
“They’ll stop at nothing to get what they want.”
This was enough for Ghent to feel a sharp twinge of guilt, for he knew that Elayra spoke from experience. It was easy for him to forget that she had been through a lot; Elayra was the epitome of stoic.
Uncomfortable with his guilt, Ghent dared to speak up after she was through. "I'm..." He was ready to offer his condolences, but he stopped himself in time. Elayra didn't want his sympathy -- she'd already made that clear. "...Never mind."
The refusal to hand over the dagger earned a sigh from him, and he dropped his arm back to his side.
"I'm aware of your arsenal," the words were sarcastic, though his tone had been stripped of it. "If you want to get to Wonderland, we'll have to ditch them." By all accounts, the plan was a poor one. Hide the weapons, even if that meant leaving the majority behind. Getting past a pedestrian was simple enough -- Ghent could lie his way out, should he need to. But the police? Never. The very thought made him nervous, but not Elayra. The talk of the cops hadn't scared her; she was willing to fight them.
"You're kidding, right?" When the sword was drawn, Ghent ran a hand through his dampened hair, convinced that Elayra's hotheadedness would land them in jail or worse.
"You've never seen a gun, have you?" He looked around, unintentionally mimicking Miles' nervous mannerisms. "If you go at a cop with a sword like that, they'll shoot you on sight!" The more Ghent thought about this, the less he liked it. "They'll shoot me, too!"
Their options were limited, and Ghent grew increasingly uneasy. He hadn't any personal experience in dealing with the police, only stories to go from. Mrs. Saxon was always sharing gruesome tales from the news; many of which involved the police dealing with 'young ruffians and hoodlums'. Ghent didn't want to become the next cautionary tale.
"Maybe...maybe we should wait. They'll leave soon enough." The police had better things to do than to hang around an old bookstore all day; a few hours wouldn't hurt, would it? "Drust would understand, wouldn't he?"
Ghent knew the answer. No way would Drust understand. Ghent could already imagine the black webbing around his eyes, consuming his pupils until he snapped. . .
"Fine! You can keep them. We'll just have to risk it!" With a loud sigh of defeat, he shouldered his pack again, convinced that Elayra wouldn't give up the smallest of weapons. "But you can't draw any weapons! You may know the risks of Wonderland, but I know the risks here." Ghent was visibly frazzled, disturbed by the thought of being confronted by an officer with this girl. "Got it?"
I cut it there in case you wanted to have someone overhear or intervene, but if not, I can add the rest of the dialog to complete the scene. I wasn't really sure how far you'd wanted me to go.
I thought confetti seemed fitting. Though, your gif is almost impossible to complete with. I mean it's The Emperor's New Groove! What's not to love?

Whoa! Mind blown. That would be brilliant! Please, do let me know what he'd need to know, and I can totally work that in! He would be perfect for helping them get past the cops, plus, as you said, he'd make for an interesting (and slightly crazy) contact. I'm so excited for this!

Ugh, school. I don't blame you! I can't remember if I'd told you, but I finally told my parents that I will not be attending any more classes. ^^' They weren't upset or anything (I'm sure by the amounts of complaining I'd done, they expected as much) but...yeah. I just can't bring myself to take another semester.

Headphones! Why didn't I think of that? I'll give that a shot! Hopefully they'll be enough to drown out their commotion. xD

As far as the garage goes, I've found mainly a lot of old toys from my childhood, and a LOT of stuff to sell. I also found a lot of boxes that were *supposed* to go to Goodwill...but my mom hoarded them away. Thankfully she let me get rid of them now, though. It amazes me how much one family can collect!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get very distracted or take trips down memory lane, since my sister was making sure I was moving at all times.

For Etsy, I offer both options. Makes life easier. xD

We have great taste! Both movies are wonderful. I'll have to watch Spirited Away again sometime soon. The ending always makes me sad, though. :'(

LOL. It's all fun and games until you try to take the bacon away! That never fails to crack me up.

Oh WOW! Okay, I am impressed! Those look spectacular!! And very alike to what I'd envisioned, which is awesome. Your written descriptions were so detailed that I actually managed to get a pretty good idea what they must have looked like. The eyes are great! Red, glowing eyes...*shudders* Wouldn't want to run into one of them any time soon. No wonder Ghent didn't sleep. Heh.
I also really like how you incorporated the clubs into their design! That was fun to spot. :D I'd like to attempt drawing one...but...everything I draw usually ends up too...chibified. I'll give it a try, though! *adds to "To Draw" list*
You outdid yourself. I absolutely approve. Add away! :D
Works for me. :)

I was contemplating that, but I wasn't sure if you'd think it'd be too much. I can easily add that in when I edit my post, which I am working on when I get to my computer.
