The nearly 3,000 strong men under Dread's command are expertly trained to fight any number and any kind of foe. From Vikings, to Paladins, to assassins and elite soldiers. To say these men are Elite is wrong, but to look down on them is to misjudge their own skills. They know how to take the walls of a fief in the dead of night, they know how to pillage a town without anyone knowing.it was them, and they also know how to instill fear in the enemies armies. Whether you're looking to throw them in the bunch with your own men, or have them fight in a battle off the beaten path of your own army, these men will carry out the trials. All these men know is fighting, and it's what they've done for years. But what is the difference between them and your own highly skilled men? They've fought more battles, they aren't mindless, and when they fought in wars they ended up leaving their own Lord's or Lady's. It's not even Dread who makes the choice on who they work for. They all choose. Backed by Dread, their Leader, an excellently skilled swordsman, the best in the group. The man claims he can take on any man one on one, no matter the enemies skill, and come out on top. But he refuses to ever fight a woman. Barry, one could call him a brute, or similar, something like a Paladin, in comparison to Dread who could be seen with the skills of a Knight; Barry tends to take on more than one heavy hitter at a time so they don't kill the men. Slow, probably takes all the hits until he gets back up, surprising the enemy, but don't piss the man off when it's just you and him. And then there's Derrick. Young, but not stupid, he could be considered the scout, the thief in the night, sometimes he even offers his services to get information on a Lord or Lady for an individual without said Lord or Lady non the wiser; or perhaps... not information but... an item? These hardy men have seen enough bloodshed in their lives to have no mercy.

This band of brothers is called "Dread's Fist," and even with Dread heading the group, it doesn't mean they will listen to his every word, and it doesn't mean they need their leader in a fight. Their training consists of nothing but strength and endurance, they have each been trained to lead themselves with their original orders and beyond. Each soldier that resides in this group is even able to defeat a bear in the harshest of winters. Now, one must understand, these men are not invincible. They wear leather armor to be quicker, faster than the average swordsman and still able to at least take a simple hit, but their bones are not made of metal. Dread's Fist are widely known for their quick and short battles, but they can take a sizable battle any day.

Wish permission, Dread's Fist will land in Mortham, Ashgan's Kingdom. They come from the South but could not pass through the warring conflicted between them and Lundlands. They come as Mercenaries to see what Lundlands can offer as its future begins to unfold.

1. Why the fuck are you still awake Flooby? You better not be drunk.
2. The building issue, is that about the Terrandul Bailey's? That was for Terrandul's town. I just felt like saying the Castle. The Watchtowers for the Forts? I need those... The Debauchery Den? Well... damn, fine then.
3. Did you name the Courtier yet?
4. Understood, next Orders will be done in PM and I'll do the roleplay in IC. Although that stuff I didn't try to keep secret. If I wanted something to be a secret, you'd know.

Patrols are just raised levies sent to go guard a large swathe of land. Since the soldiers at your forts and outposts are already raised [ they are, aren't they? ] then you don't need to do anything extra, and can just send them on patrol whenever you feel like it.And I have been thinking about the cost, actually. I mean, the largest castle or fortress is only going to be a handful of square miles, and Lundland has 200,000 sq. miles [ thus each inch of the map is around 125 miles ]. That makes the island between 6,000 and 8,000 sq. miles, just going off a rough guesstimate. Since it costs 125,000 bullis just to build a Great Wall around a few square miles, the expense of building said wall around the entire island would dwarf the income of every single lord in Lundland combined.So, if you want an island fortress, you'd probably be better off just looking for a tiny island the size of, say, Malta or something, and just building it there. If you'd like to simply fortify the island, but not with a Giant wall surrounding it, you'd be better off with numerous defensive positions carved out every mile or two around the island, with signal fires allowing for quick communication between each mini outpost.

I would prefer at least a Stone Wall around the entire island. Even if I am only building a few or so (hundred? I don't know) miles ever so often. I know it would take forever, but ..."They've been building walls there for 2,000 years!" (Quote from World War Z). I really want a wall there. And we can do "patches" but they will connect every time I start a new one.

"Please, would you send for my personal Courtier?" Lord Solterra requested one of his loyal servants near him. All of these technical details of Lordship had confused him at times, all the little details and reasoning, but he felt like he was somehow... right for it. But also right in fighting.... The servant nodded and walked in a fast pace to find Solterra's personal Courtier. "You... I... really should start remembering your names." The other Servant made a grin, "It's alright my Lord, you rule over thousands, it's expected to be too many names for one person. I'm Johnathon," the man smiled, giving a slight bow. "No no, that won't do, Johnathon. You're a servant, not a slave. I consider them different. I mean, I pay you, right? I don't lash you." They both started to laugh until Solterra started to get quiet, signalling Johnathon to always stop. "May I call you John? I have a request." Johnathon looked over at Solterra and gave a subtle nod, "Whatever you wish ser, and what is your request?" "I'd like you to run a bath for me, all these taxes have been a pain and I haven't exactly woken up yet. I always have my baths in the morning, but my Courtier who usually does it is out attending the Court now, so I've been busy ever since the conflicts started." "Yes ser, I understand. Perhaps my Lord could hire some more Courtiers? Heh. I'll get right on your bath." "Thank you." John gave a small bow out of respect in leaving his Lords presence and turning to walk towards the Lords Bathing room.

The other servant walked in with a smile and a cute face, bowing and presenting the new personal Courtier. "I have returned my Lord, I have fetched your new Courtier." "Ah, good! Thank you, could you please get me some Cider? I hate to keep throwing you places." "Oh it's no trouble my Lord, I am sure to give you and your Courtier some time alone." Just as John did, the other servant gave a bow of respect and left the room.

The newly hired Courtier leaned forward, like a more respectful bow. "Greetings my Lord, you have requested my presence?" "Yes," Solterra reaches for a sealed letter that had an official seal of the Kingdom of Therral. It also had a small blue ribbon attached to it. He also grabbed another sealed letter, which also had the official seal, but no ribbon; handing them both to the Courtier who willingly accepted them. "I'd like you to go to my Courtier who now resides in the Court. It is his place as he fits best there, but you will relieve him until his quest is complete. Tell him he needs to personally take the ribboned letter to the Lands of House Bloodsun, and deliver it with the utmost respect to the Lady that resides in ruling there. If he passes through the Kingdom of Pelataria, he needs to give the other letter to an official soldier or other representative closest to the Lord in that Kingdom. Don't worry, he already knows how to stay alive and keep himself safe during the travel. I just hope he doesn't put a dent in my treasury in doing so." The Courtier nods as he listens intently, "I have purchased a carriage and two horses for the journey. They aren't great horses, partially trained, but they should be good enough leisure for the long road ahead. The Carriage does have our Crest, we've no need to hide. Two soldiers will accompany you and no more. once you take my old friends seat in court, the two soldiers and the Carriage will be transferred to him. We need a stable ground for the future, you understand this?" "Yes my Lord, I will get these messages to your Courtier at the Court."

Solterra gave the smallest and slowest nod as he eyed the new Courtier for a moment. "...Is something wrong, my Lord?" Solterra shook his head, "No, but something is wrong with me." He said abruptly as he stood from his chair and patted the mans shoulder. "I just barked orders at you and I don't know your name. Well, give it, hah hah." "Yes my Lord! Dorian Bosler, I am honored to personally meet you." Solterra raised his head and then quickly brought it back down. "Good, it's nice to meet you as well Dorian. Now, one more thing, before you leave." Solterra reached back to the table which had a parchment of construction plans and military orders, among other things; handing it to Dorian. "Make sure these are carried out before your leave. Now, good luck." "Thank you for the opportunity, my Lord."

As the Courtier makes a hasty leave to get everything done as soon as possible, the servant from before, John, returns with a towel on his arm and Solterra looks up. "My Lord, your bath is ready." "Ah, good. Thank you John. That was quick, I'll have to remember to let you have a dip one day as well." "The pleasure is mine, ser."

To my understanding, Flooby, we do not need to pay for initial cost of items like armor and weapons, but we do need to pay for the first upkeep at start, correct?

Flooby; from what I read, I need to pay bullis for setting patrols? Personally I think I need only pay for any patrols of soldiers not a part of my Outposts or Forts, seeing as they are always prepared for times of war, they already receive their payments for being battle ready (Sure, I have troops ready for defense in all my other fiefs, but that's like comparing hometown soldiers to frontline soldiers. Hometown don't really see war or fighting if at all, more relaxed, less stressed, time for having a life, where as the soldiers at the forts and outposts... don't exactly get a life.) (There's more to this, but that's for another time).

Besides, the Forts and Outposts are already small. taking men from there and putting them on patrol isn't some huge benefit... I'm making it so there are less men defending the Forts and Outposts.

Edit: Flooby, can you give me a price estimate of how much it will cost to build all those great wall walls on the island? I don't mean for the fief, this is for the entire island.
