Current I am Klomster, i have no status.

Bio

Known primarily as Klomster, both on the net and on real life.

I really enjoy roleplaying and do so every weak, preferably twice in two different campaigns. Sometimes even more.

From time to time i've done some forum roleplaying with mixed success. I've tried GM-ing with even more mixed success and all in all, i find forum rp's enjoyable. Hence why i joined, hoping to play some forum rp's and OWN at it. (Or something.)

I have an erratic thought pattern so my posts can appear as incoherent, if you notice you can just mention it if i should clarify anything.
Other than that, hey there fellas.

Nah, it's sorta like my post.

He speaks a lot of the enemies from his timeline, since the troops haven't realized the shift yet, so naturally they think the border is as it was.

Hence why i speak of the "Commonwealth alliance" which i imagine are made up from mainly brits, an america where the confederacy won and texas along with their south european allies.
All while i sail towards southern africa, thinking its ruled by some backwater tribal government with no chance of resisting a battleship. While it is actually the republic of south africa i'm headed for.
Whom probably have a bit more juice behind them.

All in all, everyone will be rather confused :P Especially our "characters".
What on earth happened?

The rest of the officers core had as little clue as the newly appointed captain. The six vessel large commonwealth alliance destroyer group had been right on top of them just hours ago, then just as they came within torpedo range, reportedly launching several torpedoes according to lookouts, they all vanished.

The last hour had been of little enlightenment as well. Kunz Hoehner had called for an officers meeting trying to figure out the recent turn of events and properly plan the next course of action.
The meeting had derailed completely and people had begun to trail off in all manners of strange theories.

Dimensional portals, time dilations, we all died and are now in the afterlife or ghosts, or simply divine plays.
The officers clearly read too much fiction and watch too many movies.
The most reasonable theory was a commonwealth prototype gas attack, this was a common tactic on the western front in Spain and resulted in many casualties until proper protection was developed.
However a gas attack on the sea was unheard of, and such a gas was frankly hard to believe. But lacking other reasonable alternatives that explanation would have to do for now.

The actual plan took a fraction of the entire time allotted to the meeting. After considering the options it was agreed.
The Bismarck would return to port in Spain, in the naval base of Gibraltar.
Getting there was going to be the biggest problem, the direct route was out of the way, since commonwealth fleets were plentiful in the area.
Going around the americas was also out of the way, too many enemies would intercept.

Kunz Hoehner cursed his history knowledge, if only the Suez canal had been funded, then they could have rounded africas horn and passed through there.
The north african confederacy while not an ally of the reich, would probably agree to passage.
Curse the commonwealth and their diplomatic pulls, had they not diverted the flow of funds to the Brazil deforestation and infrastructure movement their escape would have been simple.

Now they would have to sneak back home. Through the enemies gates.

The first course of action was decided, head for south africa. From there they could blockade a port or something to force them to give a radio or something. Then Bismarck would follow the western shores of africa and head for gibraltar.
The officers returned to stations and the operation "Hinken Haudegen" or limping warhorse was underway.

-"Helmsman, heading towards the horn of africa, give me 30 knots of speed, full power. Reduce detectability by lowering the colours." Kunz orders were acknowledged. He knew that lowering the colours were not going to do much for reducing their silhouette. But better be safe than sorry after all.

The journey would take a good 4 days roughly before reaching Cape town. Kunz knew that running the boilers on full power wasn't good in the long run, but better get as far as possible before they are found.
And a sunk ship wouldn't need to worry about the boilers anyway. So he figured the best course of action was to worry about any damage later.

Kunz looked through the haphazardly repaired windows of the bridge upon the iron cross of the kreigsmarine proudly painted on the deck of the ship on the prow. Its black simple design upon the white bottom reminded him of his duty to his men and to the fatherland. He would bring them home.

The battleship Bismarck is named after the great leader of old, Otto Von Bismarck. Whom united germany and forged a new future for its people.
This is the same in this ships timeline. But world war 1 ended prematurely in this timeline, which gave germany more time to prepare for the second war. The national socialists party was also never elected to power, since the countries economics were never pushed so far down. Instead a more commonly styled Conservative rule. Whom rebuilt the former glory of germany and the country was cast into world war two.

The people however were more jingoistic than common nations. And wanted to create an even larger reich.
Therefore the german war machine have still gone on a massive advance, and been rather succesful.

The battleship Bismarck itself was unlike its true timeline counterpart (i'll refer to it as real from now on) not prematurely launched with inferior chances on a crazy undermanned mission. Instead it was finished together with its sister-ship Tirpitz whom both received several modifications and upgrades including reinforced armour in several places, more anti-aircraft weaponry and the ability to carry torpedo-boats along its rear hull. Sacrificing 2 scout planes.
The two ships often operated together and had an escort of a select few smaller vessels.

These are the official required numbers.
With an additional 50 for manning the schnellboots.
+Current situation:
Unlike its real counterpart, this vessel was never sunk in the atlantic ocean, and never sunk Hood. It however got sent on a similar mission as its real counterpart to hunt down supply fleets in the atlantic south.

This mission was however featuring both Bismarck and Tirpitz with assorting craft. 3 destroyers and two heavy cruisers.

Initially the mission seemed to be a huge success, massive tonnage was sunk until the commonwealth alliance were forced to cease supply operations in the area. The kriegsmarine saw this as a great victory.
What they didn't know however was that the initial response to the german battlegroup entering the sea was immediate and rather embarrassing retreat, the commonwealth alliance had worked a long time to create a trap.
Spies made sure the german government was given information about two simultaneous supply runs. One smaller to the north, and a massive one to the south.
The information was crucial and the "german navy could never learn of" the southern group. Which would have no defense.
The upper force was supposed to be well protected, so the kriegsmarine decided to send its wolfpacks to deal with it.

Battlegroup GroSSenstahl would take the southern supply run. Bismarcks battlegroup.
The kriegsmarine had taken the bait completely.

The trap was set, when the target date was reached the wolf packs found no trace of the supposed upper supply run. Initial confusion turned to panic when several sub-hunter bombers supported with destroyers began to hunt them down. One of the most devastating blows to the wolf packs to date.
In the south the situation was even more grim.
The commonwealth alliance had gathered a massive fleet to surround the battlegroup, to sink the scourge of the seas once and for all.
GroSSenstahl found out way to late that they were pinned in the mousetrap. A massive battle ensued.

Tirpitz and Bismarck fought valiantly, Tirpitz managed to sink two major vessels before succumbing to repeated barrages. What finally sunk the warship was a three torpedo hit barrage to the starboard bow, which annihilated the prow and resulted in the ship gulping in massive amounts of water as it kept going forward.

After seeing the battlegroup had been halved, Bismarcks captain decided to retreat to the south. The vessel performed admirably against the odds and sunk a major vessel. It also managed to get a torpedo hit against a commonwealth carrier forcing it to flee.
But massive damage had been sustained. The supporting kriegsmarine fleet was annihilated without sinking any major vessels, but a single destroyer was sunk by it.

Both sides had taken horrendous damage in the battle however, and when the Bismarck took a hit to its bridge. It went silent.
The commonwealth fleet decided that it needed to retreat, and that the enemy vessel would be sunk by a follow-up attack by destroyer groups.

Bimarck however was not beaten. True it had taken a massive blow to its officer core, several officers dead including the captain.
Kunz Hoehner was the highest ranking officer that survived the blast. He was catapulted into a toilet of all places and received injury to his legs and arms. Leaving him limp and slightly hampered in manual dexterity. And slightly ridiculed for "taking a trip to the loo without permission." While this is a hidden joke among the crew, they actually respect him fully.

Bismarck had to limp southward and managed to hide next to an island, there it performed repairs. But just as repairs were underway the commonwealth destroyer groups found it.
The vessel was doomed, only a miracle.... or lets say a rift in reality could save it now. And that is what happened before eyes of the shocked destroyer groups personnel.

Currently Bismarck have finished its repairs, none have any idea what happened but its generally decided that they should try to return home.
Sadly most of the radio equipment was destroyed, so was a lot of the navigation equipment. So they are down to a few compasses found in crew quarters, a sextant that was a decor in a mess-hall and a few random maps. Most useful of them is the world map, even though it's singed.

With this they begin their trip towards the fatherland.

@Deaddlife Nope, it's a battleship.

Even though a massive submarine carrier would be awesome, i am going for the more sensible route.

3dhistory.de/wordpress/wp-content/gall..
Looks roughly like this.

The airplanes are launched with "catapults"
pacificaviationmuseum.org/blog/wp-cont..
Then they winch them aboard with cranes after the flights.

And the torpedoes are probably on small turrets.
Just google "destroyer torpedo launcher" and you will get some idea how thy work.

I was actually surprised myself when i learned the Tirpitz historically had torpedoes.
And i will still start in quite a pinch.
The vessel is mostly working with most of its crew. But the navigation and communication is hampered. So it's passing notes and waving flags until i get hold of a radio :P
I could punish myself even more with having different signal language than the real world, but i'm gonna "powergame" that i have the same. ;)

I guess i should put up a pic with the description.

And Gm's.
Should i put my "character" in the characters tab myself or does someone else do this?
@Klomster

That's a fairly impressive sheet you have there. I'm not an expert on naval warfare, but nothing seems overpowered, and your back story is fine. Welcome aboard.

Coolness.

I mostly copy pasted stats of the Tirpitz :P And made a few minor tweaks.
Like adding up to 5mm in armour at certain places!!! OoooOoohhh crazy.

On a more serious note though, the plan is to sail around and be completely at loss at to what is going on. And try to find allies in this strange world.
Also the schnellboots are something i added because i think they are cool. Perhaps not 100% logical, but the alternate world made it work.

I hope this is an good enough entry :)

Soooo..... i would try to make some trading happen.... but it's rather pointless to trade with a god.... or a religious sect...

Perhaps i should spend some more dice...
Oh well, i thank you for your help good sirs.
It does look very much like it.

Is there a more modern version of it perhaps? I remember the art to be different. Otherwise it seems rather similar. I thank you good sir.@Ellri

Although watching a youtube vid with it it isn't exactly as i remember it. But i don't know what else it could have been.
I have for some time been remembering an old game from my younger days i enjoyed. I only played it a few times and it was on a computer at my dad's place i think.

Now i want to find out the name to try and relive the old memories, or in the least see if the game was actually any fun :P

So, these are the features of the game.
'The game was similar to a chinese checkers board, but it had only 4 sides. Each side represented one of the elements.
'Each side had units themed around greek mythology and the separate element. (I distinctly remember pegasus for the air team.)
'It was a turn based strategy game, like chess, where you moved a single unit at a time. (Might be wrong on this one.)
'The game is old, but in colour and had some decent sprites.

What i want is a name so i can check it out and try to get hold of it. The best way to ask if a certain game is the right one is to show a picture of the board. Since i don't remember the menus, never seen the box and don't remember the name.

If you help me out with this one i'll owe you one, and i'll give you a fake cookie of your favorite flavor :D
Otherwise, have a good day.
