I really enjoy roleplaying and do so every weak, preferably twice in two different campaigns. Sometimes even more.
From time to time i've done some forum roleplaying with mixed success. I've tried GM-ing with even more mixed success and all in all, i find forum rp's enjoyable. Hence why i joined, hoping to play some forum rp's and OWN at it. (Or something.)
I have an erratic thought pattern so my posts can appear as incoherent, if you notice you can just mention it if i should clarify anything. Other than that, hey there fellas.
I don't know if everyone is already aware of this and I'm just dumb but we're in the notable roleplays section of the new RPGN which is kind of neat I guess.
There's a notable RP's section?
I need to check this out!
Also, it seems the Mekhania Dragoons have a mighty equal/foe in the Rhedrinnor swan knights. But in the end, it doesn't matter, for the true battle is that of the banquet hall, on the ballroom floor and in the political venture! That takes a true gentleman.
Appearance: Beneath the harness Tobrew is a reasonably handsome man with a reddish brown hair. He has strong but lean muscles and walks with a tall straight gait.
Renowned Skills: Tobrew was knighted by the royal order of Mekhania dragoons when he was 18, after a childhood filled with rigorous training and etiquette. He learned the art of dancing and the art of swordsmanship. The art of hunting and the art of riding. And to an extent to solve mechanical problems, like all citizens of Mekhania. Apart from his excellent dancing skills, Sir Tobrew Castillair is not a remarkable member of the Mekhania dragoons. His membership at all however denotes him as a mighty warrior and few individuals in the entire world has the skills to even attempt its trials.
Comparing to the 1 to 10 scale. Skills: Exceptional swordsman 6, exceptional arcanotech beast rider 6, medium arcanotech repair 3, prominent Mekhania dancer 7,Mekhania poetry 5, singing 4,
Magic: None
Weapons: He has a pistol sidearm mostly for dispelling especially troublesome lowlives, being a knight however would mean it would be dishonorable to fight someone with such a simple tool for keeping your foes at bay. Although, such rules only refer to knights anyway. Other nuisances can easily be taken down at range without risking lost honor.
He has a flamberge bladed rapier of a lightweight Mekhania Los Snaz'Rahia steel that can easily pierce even the thickest cloth, while retaining it's flexibility in the thrust! It is of exquisite quality and flair with its blade blued halfway. A sign of good craftsmanship.
His primary armament however, is the Mekhania dragoon pyre lance! A weapon only wielded by the Mekhania dragoons. Built by arcanotech mages with a self charging power crystal, it can shoot streams of sanctity upon its foes! It is also a sturdy all steel lance with massive heft, too unwieldy from one not from the order of Mekhania dragoons to wield in combat.
In his belt a misericorde dagger decorated with gold thread, engraved into patterns of lilys.
And a warhammer, lightweight, one-handed. Carried by every knight of Mekhania.
Armour: The standard war maillé of the royal Mekhania dragoons, or commonly shortened to dragoon maillé. A suit of all encompassing steel plates that cover the body from top to toe, its only weak points being the eyes which only has thick shatter resistant glass to protect them. The only joint not covered is the palms of the hands, the dragoons would complain so much of grip otherwise. And bolting the weapons to the armour was annoying. Dragoon maillé is impervious to all normal slashes and strikes from swords, it is highly resistant to all other forms of weaponry as well.
Magic can still trump it, but it has a complex system of leading heat away from the user, so attempts to use temperature against the user will commonly fail unless it is of a massive scale.
Steed: See mount details below
Bio: Sir Tobrew De Castillair was the first son of Sir Roberriaz De Castillair, the archduke of Pembral. Being the first son he was sent to become a knight in service of the royal court. Tobrew was a good page and dutifully performed his tasks, at the age of twelve he was among the best at fighting and excelled at courtly dance. At age 16 he passed the trial of knighthood and served the court of Mekhania as a knight. For two years he fought the enemies of Mekhania, which is mostly rebelling noble families, but nonetheless enemies. At 18 he passed the trials of the Mekhania Dragoons, donned the dragoon maillé and rode into battle upon one of the battle mounts of Mekhania. A great honor, to serve the king as a honorary bodyguard and the kingdom's elite troop. However recently sir Tobrew De Castillair dishonored himself greatly, while attending a noble feast he failed to express his uttermost respect for the princess. Therefore he was sent to help with this liberation thing against this wizard or whatever. Being a dishonored lord, he needs to regain his honour. Preferably in court, but seeing that the princess personally requested he be sent far away that is impossible. Now he rides to war, to aid the other champions in battle.

Name: Zeta Aurora Kaotica 1114, nicknamed "Aurora Kaotica Eleanora" by Tobrew. Race: Techno-arcana Known Racial Abilities: If a technoarcanist works on it, it can be rebuilt to house more fascinating mechanical functions. Age: 6 Appearance: A brazen wyrm, with wings of constructed feathers, four legs resembling those of an eagle and a tail like that of a spined lizard, all constructed from gears and sprockets, plates and springs that work to create what could resemble a living being out of brass.
Renowned Skills: Excellent aerial mobility, and to shoot forth rays of holy sanctity
Magic: No magic apart from the enchantments to make it work
Weapons: Razor sharp talons, a spiked tail and sharp teeth. Also the raycaster which produces the rays of holy sanctity
Armour: Up to an inch of brass in its places. But it has weak spots. Generally speaking the armour is about 3mm thick
Steed: The steed does not have a steed
Bio: Zeta Aurora Kaotica 1114 was the 1114th dragoon mount of the flying cadre, it is the personal mount of Sir Tobrew De Castillair
The mount is probably about as intelligent as a clever dog, it does not function properly unless ridden. In a straight up fight on the ground it would probably lose against 50 trained men with polearms with enough strength to strike through the brass plates.
And yes, 'rays of holy sanctity' is frikkin lasers. I mean come on, why NOT have a steampunk dragon that shoots frikkin lasers? It loses focus on ranges over 100 meters.
That's the kind of imagery i was thinking of @Footman.
On the actual workings of the weapon i guess i've mentioned that it's techno-arcana, so to clarify. A wizard did it, with magic. Also steampunk. It still probably needs focus lenses and all that jazz, but it's a magical device and not a proper laser.
And his armour isn't that much more awesome than regular plate armour. Perhaps a bit thicker. The primary thing is that it is all encompassing, like the tournament armours of Henry VIII.
"Either way, I expect to throw something up tomorrow or late this evening."
Hearing this after you mention being intoxicated.... check.

Question. What is your thought on a dragon rider type character?
He would have no troops, but instead a reasonably powerful mount. Its power primarily being firepower and flight. It would not last too long on the ground against trained troops.
Strolling through the narrow street was Krobb. A troll, not just any troll though, nope, it's perhaps one of the most succesfull trolls in history! Depending on if you count freelancing bridge toll management a proper civilized profession. Trolls tend to lean towards this profession naturally, which results in most rural bridges having a troll living under them. Hence the name, toll, the word was a play on the word troll and many a commoner has been stopped to pay all sorts of fines. Usually in the form of meat, that meat often being the meat on the person itself.
This meant that freelance toll management was seen as simple villainy by most, but Krobb had learned from his father that toll management was an important profession. Sure he didn't teach him the reason it was important, proclaiming that 'you will learn why in time son'.
But that didn't matter to Krobb anymore, now he was a guard. And a very proud one at that. Making him a strange example of a guard... apart from the fact that he was a troll.
Once more his thinking was interrupted by the shrill shriek of a woman dressed in a pink dress with white lace. Krobb looked at the woman and realized she had exited a crossing street, bumped into him and then screamed. Krobb simply leaned down, looked her close in the eyes and smiled a broad toothless smile. Then she fainted, this made Krobb disappointed but he understood why. It's not easy to cope with the life in a city, his mentor had told him that the people of the city work hard and at times become stressed. She must have had a rough day.
He gently picked her up and hefted her over his right shoulder and held her securely in place with his right hand, holding the massive club in his left. Krobb then continued his stroll along the street, happily looking for birds flying around in the air. Another scream was heard, but she didn't faint, however a man not paying attention did as he almost walked into the troll.
This however Krobb did not notice, he had spotted a singing bullfinch with its radiant red belly bobbing with the notes. He smiled broadly and closed his eyes as he kept walking. Unbeknownst to him, the passed out man was getting mugged, while the woman had her bag yanked from her as she charged after the perpetrator with a raised knife, Krobb accidentally tipped over a market stall with wooden kitchen utensils with his club followed by a crook leaving a home with a bag of stolen goods.
