Works for me. So since he is already sitting on a 6 defense without any powers, he already grants a +2 to all allies versus AoE, same as the static +2. But when he uses rock skin to raise his defense from 6 to 11 for armored, it will grant +3 to all allies versus AoE and once he raises defense from 6 to 7 then armored will grant allies a +4 instead... I'm good with that.
