@yPro Oh, Athinar isn't a demon. :) He used pure skill to get where he is. That, and having the base soul of an evil Overlord with power equivalent to a Keeper helps, too.

Pure skill to grow an exoskeleton?
Yeah you should be good, just check the PM about attack strength for your guy's moves and what I suggested about thinking forward with your moves.

I began thinking this morning... since Attack is effected by Strength then Defense should be effected by Speed. I'm gonna edit the rules accordingly. Same scenario for now, 1-5 Speed will have +1 defense while 6-10 will have +2. Signature defense of course would be double.

Speed now effects both how many times you can strike per post, plus now how quickly you regain life. Things to take into consideration when using a defense: if an enemy with low strength attacks and you're a faster character in terms of combat or raw speed, the enemy's attack would only be -1 and better speed recovers the lost health point and gives you another.

If this is in any way too confusing just let me know. It seemed like a nice addition for characters who's speed far outweighs their strength. You can now have a stronger character in terms of attacks who regains health slower, and a character who's attack strength may be low who's defense is a gangbuster. Originally strength effected defense as well but that didn't seem fair.

In other news I'm talking with @Aro about Co-GM'ing this though he won't be developing a character himself I don't think. Once in awhile he may make moves as the enemies if a lot is going on in battle and things get one sided. He's helped me run a stat based game before on another site so if anyone has questions and he's online and I'm at work or something you can send them his way or just @ mention him on here in the OOC. I'll get to work on an opening IC post when I get off work today!

This is just me: I think standard attack (punch, kick) should do the 1 damage just like any street person or mook with unlimited punches available. But if you put points into attack, you have trained and invested so your listed attacks should do double your regular damage because you have trained and practiced to deliver those attacks. Your signature ability at 3rd level should deal your relevant STAT in damage or prevent that much in damage.
Pearl was in a pet store, specializing in tropical fish, when all hell broke loose. He was certain to be getting looks for wearing no shirt and a cloak, but lets just say there were no complaints from the swimmers Olympic sculpt. Fearing for the fish, he exited the store as he drew what looked like a Sai. There was little a single dagger could do against these creatures, but with a snap of his wrist, the handle grew ten times its length and locked into place. Now armed with his trident, he scanned for a monster.

Poseidon provides as there was a flash of fire with a parademon flying backwards into an alley. Not to take a missed opportunity, he threw himself into the fray with a thrusting trident attack upon the axe wielder. Now to choose between two, the parademon swing its ax at the one who didn't breathe fire but found its blade blocked with an impetuous yawnas if it were not a challenge to him

No, it wouldn't. The way I'm seeing it it would be like trapping someone inside an Iron Maiden. They'd be protected from the outside by the metal shell, but still take damage on the inside from the spikes.

The best way to write that would be to say the target takes X Health loss, rather than damage, since I'm using 'Health loss' as a way to bypass all defences.

Iron maiden? Excellent!
Can health loss equal to the targets own attack rating as they struggle?
Don't forget, Fandancer has some very powerful defensive moves which could be used to prevent damage altogether.

Yes but I don't want fandancer cockblocking my blocking. ^_^

With that I take it he'd actually be inside the wall? If that's the case I'd have to say it'd be an ability which would need to be triggered when he wanted to enter the wall, as this would take time and leave him possibly vulnerable for a few seconds while he did his Merging. Only a cost of 2 Energy though, since it's a simply action.

I'd also say Merged would cancel the Armoured and Weaponised status effect, since Brick would now be part of the wall rather than pulling parts of it away to upgrade himself. To counter that, Metamorphic Rock would be automatically expanded to include Merged so when exiting the wall Brick could choose to take a cheap action to bring part of it with him. He could also choose to use Metamorphic Rock to enter a suitable surface, but since Rock Walk would be cheaper anyway there wouldn't be much point.

There will be times when I may allow an AoE to still target Brick while he's using this ability, but this will only be when it's situationally appropriate. For instance, a burst of fire strong enough to damage the building, a psychic attack which would be able to target Brick mentally rather than physically, a magical attack with the ability to target extradimensional opponents, etc. I'll give you hints when that's likely to happen though, so as not to leave you at a disadvantage.

No problem with that. Simple entrapment would cost 2 Energy.

<Snipped quote by knighthawk>
As an upgrade to Gopher Hole you could either spend Skill Points to add the effect to the existing power increasing its cost to 3 Energy, or take Snake Bite as a separate power with a cost of 4 Energy.

<Snipped quote by knighthawk>
Since this would alter the effect of Snake Bite, if you'd taken that as an upgrade to Gopher Hole then Grave Plot would have to be a separate power with a cost of 7 Energy, or 5 Energy if you put a timer on it (3 turns?) If Snake Bite was taken as a separate power then Gopher Hole could be upgraded with this ability instead, increasing its cost to 6 Energy, or 4 Energy with a time.

Either way there may be times when an opponent will be able to escape the 'grave' early through some special ability or technique.

<Snipped quote by knighthawk>
This would have to be taken as an upgrade to Grave Plot, since it'd be too powerful to have on its own, and would increase the cost to 9 Energy, or 7 Energy with a timer.

Alternatively Grave Plot and Tombstone's costs could be reduced by 2 Energy each if you granted the captive a Defence bonus while they were trapped underground.

Okay, so just to check:

Gopher hole->grave plot->boot hill (AoE grave plot)
\Snakebite->tombstone->killing field (Aoe tombstone)
If I add the bonus to defense for grave plot, it wont apply against the damage from tombstone, right? It would seem like shooting myself in the foot to protect them from my own attack... I got it, People in tombstone count as 'merged' to grant protection versus most AOE attacks similar to your suggestions for his 'rock walk' ability but they cant move from their spot.

While we're waiting on @Behemoth542 the team have a couple of decisions to make.

Firstly, do they want to keep Nightingale on the team, or would they like to switch her out at this point for Nightbeast or Fandancer?

Second, the front of the bank is well covered by the police but Flare discovered a rear corridor leading to the garage, the back alley, a staircase leading up and a third unmarked doorway. The team can head for any of these five routes in pursuit of the Gungirls and the information gained from the investigations should give clues as to where they should go next.

I vote for nightbeast, hot girl on girl action with deep penetration... of claws, that is.

The Deor was surprised that worked as well as it did, he actually felt a bit sick from the sight of the guard who clutched as his bleeding face and the draw the magic took on him. However, it would seem that the other guard would capitalize upon this moment of nausea to plant his gladius into Larach's side like a fresh boquet of flowers. The brigadine armor did its job to guide the tip away, but the perfect nature of the weapon simply let the steel plates guide it somewhere else to sink to the hilt.

Run through, the Gyurgist lost his cherub-like demeanor as he let out a hellish cry through ruined vocal chords and choked up to the head of the mallet. He grabbed the warriors hand holding the sword who had a firm investment on the equine insides and brought the fifty pound head down upon the warriors skull. Even with the free arm to block, the sheer frantic driven strength of the blacksmith simply plowed the alumen armored sleeve into the judges head as well.

With one guard on the floor, the other had time to recover and draw his weapon as well. Larach, having just had a close encounter of the pointy kind, did not want a matched set of scars so swung with his hammer in a wide swing that had the guard easily parry, but not the follow up free hand not holding the sword in place. It was a simple push that had the guarding take a step back and bang his head against the wall. Nothing serious at all, unless you already had a nail back there.

The iron was driven home and the two guards fell now. Most likely they were maimed and not murdered but they were surely defeated.

Dropping to his knees, Larach kept the blade in his side as he tried to remove the alumail with diminishing strength. He removed the empty backpack for the others of the crew to load up before he carried it back to the ship. While sitting there, the Equine had time to ponder how they would get back on the boat if they jumped off the railing to get there in the first place.
I like half dragon sorceress's.
So some geomancer ideas i wanted to put out there for group suggestions.

Rock walk: {Requires urban camouflage} When in use, Brick actually shares space with the material he has absorbed for camouflage, granting him the merged status, while merged he cannot be the target of direct attack or Aoe Unless it specifically causes damage to walls (example being demolition charges) in which his defense is treated as 1 for purposes of damage resolution.

Gopher Hole: Brick opens a small hole to trap a single limb (attack versus defense) if he succeeds, the enemy is unharmed but trapped, unable to ESCAPE but still able to attack.

Snakebite: {requires Gopher Hole} Brick opens a small hole to trap a single limb (attack versus defense) if he succeeds, the enemy takes the difference in damage AND is trapped, unable to ESCAPE but still able to attack.

Grave Plot: {requires Snakebite} Brick opens a large hole to trap a single opponent (attack versus defense) if he succeeds, the enemy is unharmed but captured, unable to ESCAPE or attack.

Tombstone: {Requires Grave Plot} Brick opens a large hole to trap a single opponent (attack versus defense) if he succeeds, the enemy takes the difference in damage AND is captured, unable to ESCAPE or attack.

Brick is good man, but he cant resist all of the temptations all of the time. He tucks a handful of cash (not a neat and crisp stack with the tape around it) into his boot first before the others come to investigate the scene. Next he obviously tucks a pistol into the back of his quickly disappearing jeans as others come to investigate. The other three guns, two loaded with one unloaded, he sets on the counter with the smoke bomb.

Here, I don't mind giving the guns back over to the cops when its over, but I want to make sure the girls aren't waiting with out pants down. Flare, you think using an empty gun to aim with might make you shoot better? Otherwise we need to get you some pitching lessons for baseball.

After anyone had a chance to grab something, he would pick up a bag for dealing with the other two robbers and to carry anything left over from the counter or future encounters. There was something odd about bricks movements, they seemed a little more sluggish than before and his skin seemed a darker than than when the fight started. It might just be asphalt dust and the combat taking a toll on him, but who knows with mutants.
