He called you Devoid with a strikethrough, and then Doivid. I'm not sure what you're devoid of, I guess it'll vary.

Snip

You redeemed yourself with Devoid, and then you snipped it out. I'm conflicted.

Will do, I'm on a dig in a few weeks too so if I find anything neat I might throw up a thread.

Oh that's cool! I personally prefer Aztecs to the Maya, although I mostly focus on their mythologies but y'kno-- >Meso-america>Incawat?._.

Yeah, the module is based around south america as a whole. From what I know of the tutor that doesn't surprise me, she runs the module that introduces us to all the early civilisations. I think having a mix there is so we can take a comparative approach.

I don't like this one, it has cooler sunglasses than mine.

fuck yeah, meso american is awesome. I took an archaeology class where that was the main focus. I ended up doing a big report on Teotihuacan. Really interesting. And there's barely ever anything about Romans in britain. Damn dude, we gotta talk about this stuff sometime.

Hit me up anytime watchman cat.

I knew I liked you. Good heavy interests there, brah. What region of the world is your favorite study?

I really love meso-american stuff, I'm doing a whole module on the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas next year. More locally I'm a big fan of Roman Britain and particularly how the Romans impacted on and interacted with the locals. I'd really like to get a dig in Egypt one day as well, the culture doesn't interest me as much as it used to, but I think going there on a dig would be a pretty great experience to have. I also know quite a lot about Easter Island which absolutely fascinates me because so much of what we 'know' about them is false, they probably weren't even cannibals.
I'm a history student with heavy interests in archaeology and social history, over summers I work as a landscape gardener with my dad. I like to run and read, I used to do a lot of martial arts and intend to start again when I'm back at uni. I self define largely around my struggle with anxiety which is an improvement from when I self defined myself as anxious, I'm now pretty well armed against it. What I'd most like to do with my life is travel and move around a lot, taking life at my own pace, maybe have kids someday. I'm also a pretty good poker player.

Sherlock Holmes said I've always held it that 'geeks' and 'nerds' both stem from the umbrella term of 'dorks'. One is cool, the other is not.

Geeks are a socially acceptable group of people who are passionate about things that would otherwise be considered dorky things. (It's like they're the cool version of nerds. Hipsters can also fall into this category, depending on their interests.) For instance, a geek can talk about the merits of Stark Trek simply because they enjoy the series. They know the characters and a good portion of their respective backstories, but they acknowledge that it's just a show and it doesn't rule their very existence. They may be passionate about a few subjects, but they also have other interests to balance their personalities out.

And to think, all those years in comprehensive school, they were simply reminding me I was a cool, passionate, socially acceptable individual.
