Fallout Character

Name: Arryn Monroe
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Appearance:

Background: Arryn was born to a slave woman and grew as a slave, herself. From the moment she was old enough to walk and talk, she proved to be a rather eccentric child. She never showed fear or despair over her situation, instead she proved to be keenly interested in the world around her, particularly machinery. Arryn turned out to be a technological savant, dismantling her own slave collar with improvised tools by the time she was eight years old, not in any attempt to escape but simply out curiosity. The slavers quickly realised her value and Arryn was well treated compared to other slaves.

Her life of slavery came to an end when she was eleven years old and a machinist named Kyle Monroe arrived in the slaver camp. He was passing by and, needing a place to spend the night, offered the slavers his mechanical services in return for a bedroll for the night. To his surprise he found Arryn, barely more than a child, already doing all the work. Impressed with her talent, he offered to buy the girl and once she was his, he freed her and took her as his apprentice.

For the next five years Arryn and Kyle worked together, buying and running a machine repair shop, and over time they developed a father-daughter relationship. Kyle took going out scavenging for scrapped tech while Arryn ran the machine shop and for a time it worked, until one day Kyle went out and never came back. The wasteland is a dangerous place and Kyle Monroe was not the first, nor the last, to fall prey to it. Arryn was left alone to run her machine shop.

A sword to pierce the sun.
With iron shield she defends the faithful,
Let chaos be undone."

Name: Helene de Valmont
Race: Human
Class: Two-Handed Warrior/Battlemaster/Templar

Appearance:

Personality:
Helene's most obvious personality trait is her devoutness. Her belief in the Chantry and Maker is unshakable. She has even been known to use the Chant of Light in conversation, believing the truth of the Chant to be more than enough of a response.

Backstory:
Helene de Valmont was born the second child of Prince Reynaud and Duchess Clarisse de Montfort of Orlais and the younger sister to the Empress Celene I. Compilations of inheritance and the rightful heir to the Throne of Orlais saw the young Helene sent away to the Chantry as a young girl to spare her from the Game. Helene became a Chantry Sister for a time before Studying to become a Templar. Her skill at arms and her Devout and unshakable confidence in the Chantry and the new Divine Victoria meant that Helene quickly caught the Divine's attention and was eventually invited to become the new Right Hand of the Divine.

As Divine Victoria's Right Hand, Helene was sent on many missions for Her Holiness. The most remarkable of such adventures was an assault on a Tevinter dragon cult, hiding in the High Reaches between the Imperium and the Anderfels, that would lead to the recovery of one of the Chantry's most prized relics, aside from the Urn of Sacred Ashes. The Spear of Andraste, wielded by the Maker's Prophet herself during her Exalted March against the Tevinter Imperium. As she was the one who recovered the weapon, Divine Victoria decided that Helene would be allowed to continue carrying it, that it may be once again wielded against the enemies of the Maker.

Skills:
Block and Slash - She counters an enemy's blow and lashes out with a strike of her own.
Whirlwind - She spins her spear around herself in a whirling attack that cuts through any foes in her path.
Grappling Chain - She casts a grappling hook at an enemy to drag them off balance and into melee range.
Spell Purge - Through faith and will, she dispels all hostile magic from the area around her.
Oooooh~! I love DA. Assuming this is still open I'll make meself a character.

Hope no one minds if a take a little bit of creative licence with the lore. Nothing major, of course, you'll see when I finish the application.
Hope you don't mind if I slip in an application to this RP.

Well.... this is depressing.
24 hour bump
This is an old idea of mine that never quite managed to get off the ground Basically it's a sci-fi roleplay set on a frontier colony world. Here's what I've got so far:

Background
In the distant future Humanity has expanded beyond our solar system and made contact with two other spacefaring civilisations, the Chi'tai a race of insectoid technophiles and the Eluvani, a race of psionic humanoids. Together, these three races formed an alliance based of periodic colonial expansion called the United Galactic Council. Every few decades the UGC would experience a "Planet Rush" when the completion of a Jump Gate would allow colonial vessels to travel to previously unreachable depths of space. Once they arrive at the newly unlocked frontier, Technicians begin the task of assembling a prebuilt return gate, allowing the wealth of the colonies to flow back through the gates to the core worlds.

Jump Gate 7 has just been completed, signalling the beginning of a new planet rush. Adventure, fame and fortune await in the depths of space for those courageous enough to face this new frontier and claim it in the name of the UGC.

Races
The Humans: The most physically diverse race of the UGC and the backbone of colonial expansion. Humans had mastered their own solar system but had yet to discover the secret to interstellar travel when they were discovered by the insectoid Chi'tai. After a tense initial phase of first contact, the two races united. The Chi'tai's mastery of technology allowed the humans to advance far beyond what they had once been. The wonders of space exploration left the Humans with a wanderlust that made them into the driving force of galactic expansion, eventually making them one of the most widespread races in the UGC. Humantiy became so widespread that English became the common trade language used by all races.

What else needs the be said?

The Chi'tai An insectoid race of technophiles, the highly advanced Chi'tai were the ones to design and begin building the jump gates, after overpopulating their own local worlds. They discovered the humans after traveling through their first jump gate, and fascinated by the human's more primitive but different technology. In return for the chance to study it, they shared their own tech with their new cousins, forming a strong alliance. The Chi'tai communicated through a complicated series of clicks and whistles, however their technical ingenuity allowed them to cybernetically modify their own vocal cords to allow them to speak English, albit with metallic, synthesised voices.

Physically the Chi'tai differ little from each other, their exoskeletons ranging from light grey to green and commonly have cybernetic enhancements built into their bodies. They are a six limbed race, with two legs and four arms. Males of the race are slightly smaller than the females and possess four delicate membranous wings.

Eluvani The Eluvani are a race that has developed many psionic abilities allowing them to use telekinesis and communicate telepathically with each other. The Eluvani were further developed than the humans when the Chi'tai used the second jump gate to reach their star cluster. The Eluvani had expanded beyond their own star to colonise other stars in their cluster and detected the foreign ships the moment they dropped out of jump-space. It was the Eluvani that made first contact and their natural diplomacy skills allowed them to quickly form an alliance with both the Chi'tai and the humans. It was the Eluvani that first suggested all three races unite into a single government, and the UGC was born.

While the Eluvani are capable of communicating telepathically with each other, they are simply able to read general feeling and thought directions in the other races. This has particularly left the humans uncomfortable around them, viewing this skill as a form of mind reading.

Setting
Welcome to Planet Tophus, named for the captain of the first ship to land on it's surface. A humid world, the entire planet is covered in wild untamed jungles and swamp land. Only one settlement has been founded on Tophus so far. The port settlement of Aebrion, the name of the colony ship captained by Tophus, now dismantled to build the first buildings and landing pad of the fledgling settlement.

Tophus, however, has locals of it's own. Asside from the many alien animals that call the jungle home, a race of tribal natives, named the Skuul by the settlers also live on this world. Little is known about these tribal aliens, other than the fact that they are hostile, matriarchal, equally at home on the ground as in the trees, and that they seem to communicate using a complex combination of pheromones and hand signals.

So this will be set initially on Tophus only. Your character could be a merchant, explorer, treasure seeker, smuggler, settler, mercenary or even a pirate. Any kind of person that would be attracted to the adventure of a space frontier.

After we've had some fun and a few adventures on Tophus, we can move to a different world if you like, for new adventures to have and new dangers to face.

If you have any ideas or suggestions feel free to post them here or send me a PM.
