Beacon: Before the Fall

Sarah's grin went evil when she saw Lucas back away. He was easy prey. She then looked over at Bizz and the grin vanished, "Sure it's pretty nice. But we gotta make this place our own you know! Were gunna be here a while." she said as she got off her bed. "It's not like we have to do that much, just a little something to personalise. Like a pot plant or two. Something to add a little character. Sarah was used to being out in the county where her room basically was where ever she wanted it to be. On the couch, or in her brothers room and even in the barn with the cows. So the prospect of a blandish room was not really to her liking. Plus they needed something to do.

She pushed a button on the device and a needle popped out the end "What kind of person do you take me for... It is true I don't like you. But that doesn't mean I won't help you. At least not at the moment..." Diana then held the needle up to Marlin's tail "Now sit still and shut up..." she hissed before jabbing the needle into his tail rather forcefully but not unprofessionally. It was out almost as fast as it went in and Marlin's tail would begin to numb, "it's a local anaesthetic, your tail will go numb and you won't be able to move it, so sit still while I bandage it." Diana got onto her knees as to make it easier to tie his tail around his waist and bandage it there so it wouldn't move. "This is just a temporary fix, I'll see what I can do later once we're out of this cave..." She then packed up her med box and hit another button on it that made it light up like a lantern the light was bright but only angled in one direction like a torch.

She then followed after eve keeping her distance from the wall not knowing if it would inter fear with her equipment. she sighed quietly as she scanned around the room with her light. She also kept a firm eye on Eve and the cube, both were essential to the mission.

Sarah frowned slightly at Lucas. "No I didn't. Just thought a hug might be nice." she then got her smile back as she looked over at Zan "Yeah, we got 4 years to get to know each other. This is going to be such fun!" she then took a seat on her bed and it creaked a little under her weight. She then couldn't help but grin as Lucas mentioned him being the only boy. "Oh yeah you are the only boy aren't you. This could be an interesting experience for you." her grin intensified. She then rolled her shoulders and lay on her bed properly, "So. First order of Bizzness. We need to redecorate, I mean look at this place." she gestured to the room in general believing it to be pretty boring.

Diana frowned as he complained his tail was sore, of coarse it was going to be sore a stone door just closed on it. She took a deep breath and watched Eve begin to wander off then Marlin shortly following her. She looked back at the box in her hand and groaned quietly. She then followed after Eve and Marlin keeping a special eye on Eve to make sure she does't slip away as Ozpin had warned. She watched the wall absorb the dust and tilted her head following the flow briefly before looking at Eve and Marlin. She knelt down and examined the wall closely "Indeed it is peculiar. What could our mystery group seek with a material such as this. A weapon perhaps? I can already think of a few uses for a material such as this... And they are. Not good. Especially if this enemy is out to destroy civilisation as we know it." Diana then looked up at Marlin offering some dust for light, her eyes drifted off to his tail. She then sighed and pushed few buttons on the side of her box, it then opened up and had some high tech medical devices and general supplies. She walked over behind Marlin and put her box onto the floor. "Marlin... Give me your tail..." Diana's tone sounded slightly concerned, but it was very easy to tell it was forced. She then pulled a device out of her med kit.

Sarah looked down at the rest of her team and couldn't believe it, she had a kitty, a deer and a regular teddy. She had someone to hug all the time. She was excited having been placed with such an adorable team. "What are the chances we all get paired up!? It's crazy, in a good way tho!" Sarah was again vibrating with excitement. "Well how should we get to know each other better? I'm up for hugs if you guys are!" Sarah's enthusiasm would be either intoxicating or concerning. She took her minigun off her back and placed it down gently making surprisingly little noise. She then smiled and opened her arms, she thought Zan might hug her but wasn't sure about the shy Bizz. And she knew that The kitty probably wouldn't go for it. But even if Zan was the only one to hug her it would still be worth a try.

Cyrus/Chief

Cyrus let out a heavy sigh. "So it's a conflict of interests. This should be fun... So the way I see it, your both being children. If that wasn't clear enough by your behaviour at the table I'll explain it in further detail. You two just bickered like angry children and You didn't even try to understand each others viewpoints. I've been around for a while and I've been around, and if I learnt anything about people it's that they don't all agree. But they don't let that stop them from working together. And you two whether you like it or not are going to need to learn to work together. It is essential to you becoming hunters, because the monster isn't going to walk you out of the room and let you sort out your difference, if you end up tripping over each other, It will most likely kill you. So hopefully you can drop this childish argument and try to understand on another... And if you really feel like you need to fight me to prove your worth by fighting me Armend, then so be it. Cyrus then rubbed his right shoulder and took a few steps back then tapped his chin in a mocking taunt. "I might just be able to teach you both something by doing this."

Clara Baldwin

Clara stood there like a 6'5 200lb child being scolded by their favourite cartoon character. She never tried to speak up against him but didn't exactly like everything he was saying. She was shocked when Cyrus told Armend to fight him. "W-what!?" Clara felt kinda defeated considering her idol just did something she thinks is absurd and in turn gave Armend what he wanted.

Diana squeezed in through the door after sheething her weapon and proceeded to scan the room to the best of her ability. She then looked back sharply as Marlin let out a roar then smashed the wall causing rubble to get sent flying. "Control you emotions you dolt! You are lucky your that didn't cause another cave in!" she snarled and looked at him as he whimpered then looked at the crooked tail. She let out a sigh knowing her words were harsh. She waited for his response to this before deciding on weather to aid him or not, her eyes avoided his and focused on his wounded tail. She put a hand in one of her pockets and started fishing around for something. She would then produce a strange high tech box. She was half hoping that Marlin would be rude so she would feel less inclined to help him. She really doesn't like Marlin.

Clara gritted her teeth at Armend's words then looked up at him. "As a matter of fact it is! How can you you think of fighting other people!? How would fighting Cyrus prove your merit!? What is actually wrong with you!?" Clara's hand tightened around her spoon bending it. She went to say more before she was cut off by Cyrus.

Chief/Cyrus

Cyrus and the chief watched briefly then the chief nodded to Cyrus. "That's enough! So this is what you two were reluctant in telling me? Well it looks like you both screwed up didn't it? Now I don't know how this started but it stops now!" Cyrus then stood up from the table and gestured for Armend and Clara to follow him. "You two are coming with me and sorting this out now." After leading them out into a training area he got the both to stand in the middle of the area which was filled with barrels and training dummies. "Alright! First things first! What is this about exactly! Be very specific..." Cyrus stood there scowling at both of them. He'd not had this problem when he started out his career.

Clara Baldwin

Clara's face was covered with anger as she looked at Armend. Never did she think she would get scolded by one of her idols, and it was all because of Armend. She hissed before she started talking. "Well Cyrus. Armend told me he wishes to defeat you to prove he is better, not only is this arrogant but its also unfa--!" Clara was silenced by Cyrus lifting his hand and then he simply looked over at Armend with a look on his face making it very clear he wanted answers.

Cyrus/Chief

Cyrus grinned at Armend's talk of training, he remembers when he himself discussed training with his mentors tho that was a long time ago. "Indeed, I will have to give you some guidance now wont I?" He then headed to the back room and took a seat at the table his sitting position made it very clear that his right arm was broken as he only lifted his left arm onto the the table. He chuckled and beckoned Armend back to the table "Don't worry, she'll sort us out. She prefers it that way.""Don't talk for me Cyrus! But he's right, run along and take a seat. I'll be through in just a moment." She would meet any protests with stron retaliation and waited for Armend to get seated. Then the chief worked away in the kitchen a little longer before serving everyone a nice bowl of soup. The chief hopped up onto an extra tall chair "Now dig in!" Cyrus couldn't help but grin as he watched the old lady work, her movements made her look like a clockwork person. He then started eating his soup "Good as always Chief" the chief was to busy sipping her soup to respond properly.

Clara mood was improved by the offer of soup, she knew how good the chiefs soup was. She took a seat opposite from Cyrus all tho the table had many free chairs to choose from. She still didn't say much until the soup got there. "Thank you chief." She said this and got a similar response that Cyrus did. She then looked at Armend for a moment then back to her soup. She didn't understand what was going through his head, this was odd because most of the towns folk had similar views and the traders were always there for money. So having someone she couldn't read easily was vexing to say the least. She sipped her soup quietly as she thought about Armend's comment on strength.

Diana dodged out of the way of another savage strike from the white head before severing the head completely with a massive strike to the already weakened section of its neck. She then looked around as Eve finished the last of the small grimm. She then fished around in her pocket and produced the relic "Do you want the relic now Eve?" Diana asked as she to looked around at the now slightly more ruined ruin. "Damage was unavoidable with a Grimm of that size present. I am sorry if your research has been impeded." as she had contemplated using some dust to make a light but the others were already on it and she preferred not using dust. If Eve said yes to wanting the Relic Diana would walk up and hand it to her.
