Well then. I'm exceedingly British, rather sarcastic and I love a good shipfest in my RPs. Also male. Funny, that. Fair warning, I will treat you like an adult. That means I will mock you, point out your mistakes and most likely /cringe when you do something really autistic. Being an adult means accepting criticism and working to improve yourself, not ignoring it. And if I need calling out on my bullshit, just do it. Please. Nothing is worse than not realising that you've said or done something stupid til a week after the fact.

A system that I've seen done before was that if anyone went inactive for a long period of time without warning or explanation, their characters would go to the GM and would normally be killed off to A) Help hammer home the point that this was a life or death situation and B) To make room for new characters/active players.
Just a thought.
I'll also do a bit of a character sheet for NPC Captain Alexander. Just encase you feel like using him for something down the line. I'll write it up sometime tomorrow.
It's a system I considered and it definitely suits the plot, but last time I tried that in a thread, people got upset and left in droves. I might consider it as a way of removing characters when I know for certain that they aren't coming back, but otherwise I'll stick to transferring them out of the unit; shellshock is a valid excuse. If he's an NPC, just give me a paragraph about him with a picture, same as Meulemann. This is the same with all (long lasting) NPCs and you're all allowed to make as many as you want.
I will probably kill them though. Eventually.

Isn't it a bit early for side plots? Have a main event where everyone gets involved that explains to the characters the actual premise of the academy, it's curriculum and training methods. We as players know what a hybrid is and how it works, but our characters are on their first day; they need filling in. It'll also allow some room for groups to split off and talk between themselves, make friendships/rivalries before you move onto a major plot point. After that, then maybe side plots could be investigated. But jumping into characterisation arcs too early? Nah.
