It's Xcom. Everyone one dies... Well not everyone, but it's not often veteran soldiers make it to the end... Unless your a sniper.
Good news about assault! You're the most likely to get kills (below sniper) and the most versatile asset to the team! ... The down side, often the first to die. Give em hell!

Masa shrugged his shoulders in response to her question, glancing behind himself as he began to speak, "Second year... I've actually been going to the schools here for a few years now. Just don't get around much, I guess." His voice trailed off slightly as his speech drew to a close, his gaze returned to the girl, "Shizuka, was it? What is there to do around here? I haven't really had time to unwind in a long time." As he spoke, he motioned for her to follow.

Now talk about being out of your element... This was one of the first times he had actually held a conversation with his fellow students. In fact, it was actually a relief. It was hard for him to wander about without at least someone knowing who he is, or at least his reputation in school. Though he was an excellent student, he had earned a reputation for his appearance- often called ghost or specter in reference to it. For the most part he brushed it off, just a few ignorant idiots that had no idea how much he had given to the town. 'They'll all remember me some day... And they won't be laughing then.' It was then that he looked behind himself to ensure that she was following.

"So what's your story, anyways? You always on the look out for stumbling idiots?"
Koji eyed over the new comers as they spoke, doing his best to remain silent as he simply reflected on his own thoughts... But it was when the bandaged one and the tailed one began to posture, that he merely shook his head. Standing as he sheathed his blade, his eyes would turn to the gatehouse as the rest of the party could been seen venturing out.

"Peacock, later... We move." Bowing his head as he stepped past the hunter with the horns, he'd take a mighty leap from his position to the top of a tree near the road. Though he remained in sight of the party, his eyes continued to scan the area about them. He didn't expect many to be able to keep up with him... In fact, he would be surprised if they did, but he would act as the scout for his party as they ventured forth.

As time drew on, Koji continued to leap from treetop to treetop, pausing every so often to ensure that the caravan was within range- in case something had ambushed them. Though something seemed odd... The badger had stopped the caravan to investigate something. Curious to the discovery, Koji leapt across the field, landing with a audible thud and the shuffling sounds of his armor settling. Though he was behind the small-stature man, he could clearly see now what got his attention.

As his eyes focused on the scene, he could hear everyone babbling on in their own tongue, utterly lost as to their meaning... Instead his attention now turned to the trail of blood and it's origin. Cautiously, he'd begin following the trail with a hand upon the pommel of his blade. Though scanning the scenery visually, he kept his ears open for any sounds- whether it be beast or man.

Masahide raised a brow curiously, eyeing over the girl as she spoke. He noticed her rummaging through her things, though he offered no reply- merely watching to see what she was after. Once she withdrew the mirror, Masa couldn't help but chuckle. 'This is a random time for her to check her-', seeming somewhat surprised as she turned it in his direction. At first, he was disinterested, glancing away as he nearly turned and walked away... However, upon closer inspection of himself, he now knew the reason for her worry.

Honestly, it had been awhile since Masa took stock of his appearance. The dark circles forming under his eyes, the pale complexion, and the dazed look in his eyes. His daily routine didn't give him any time to preen himself too much, merely running a comb through his hair and putting on his best suit of clothes. Seems time was finally taking it's toll. Shaking his head with a subtle sigh, he'd turn to face her fully. Though still seeming somewhat rigid, he'd offer a subtle smile as he swept his hand through his hair.

"Yeah... I guess I'm looking a little rough." Shrugging his shoulders as both hand now found their way to the pockets of his pants, "Still, I'll be fine, truly. Just a little worn out- what with my schedule and all." Once again he'd raise his brow, "A fellow student? Which school? I attend Warakuma High, myself."
I'm kinda miffed about baiken, figured she would be one of the first ones back, but meh. I used to play midnight carnival every day after school with buddies of mine. Went to one tourney and placed fourth, and them I kinda fell out of it. Xrd kinda reignited that >.>
7-8 with jin, 5-6 with hakuman. Persona, solid 7 with akihiko and 5 with yu. Now if this were gg (guilty gear) 8-9 with Ky and 7 with venom.
What can I say? I just love confusing people.
Gunter paused a moment. He noticed the boys ease growing as he spoke, but something that was said sparked a sudden sense of dread within the man... There were mobs about? How could people have banned together so quickly and are now on the rampage?

"How big are these mobs? Do they do the whole pitch fork and torch thing, or armed like small militia?" Gunter began glancing around anxiously.

Slowly however, it dawned on him. He remembered reading something that stated 'mob' usually related to creatures in game. Feeling somewhat foolish, Gunter gave a brief laugh as he sractched the back of his neck.

"Ah, I get it. Well, it's not the creatures I'm worried about... At the end of the day, AI is AI, you can somewhat predict and combat that. Humans however- much more volatile and unpredictable. Heck even me walking up to you just now was a bit of a risk on my part," He stated as he removed his hand from his blade all together, though motioning to the boy's with the same hand, "Plus it provided a little additional experience. Seemed like a good idea all around."

Masahide gave a brief reply to his mother, texting back 'u2' before closing his phone. He knew his mother meant well, and it's true he did love her... But what type of person would he become if he kept leaning on her? She already lost her husband, another burden would be too much. Or that was what Masa chose to believe. Getting back his bearings, he'd attempt to walk off once more before pausing upon hearing an unfamiliar voice. Turning to see who had spoken, his eyes fell upon the raven haired girl that gave him a rather familiar look...

He was used to these sympathetic eyes, people feeling sorry for him or wanting to assist in his 'troubles'. "I'm fine... Thanks." he replied rather dismissively as he finished dusting off his clothes. Eyeing over the girl, he could tell that she was out of element in approaching him.

"Masahide Saji. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss-?" He asked with mild curiosity. His parents made sure he had plenty of practice in social and formal interactions. Though he very rarely used this skill, preferring to be on his own and out of the public's eye as often as he could. Still, she forced herself to speak to him... The least he could do is return the favor.
