Barrel grabbed Carver and pushed her in front of him. He'd spent far longer as the monster shield in the group. Carver could pay some dues!

Shock stumbled forward when she took the kick. All it did was enrage her further. She grabbed the ends of Carmilla's skirt as the vampiress moved away from her and yanked as hard as she could. She had no intent to trip Carmilla - only to pull her close enough to land a hard kick to the stomach. Shock kept her hold on Carmilla's skirt afterward. She yanked the vampiress forward, then moved to grab her throat.
That wasn't the plan, at least not indefinitely. But that wasn't the first thing to come to Shock's mind. She gritted her teeth and glared, too furious to be intimidated by Carmilla. Shock tossed the tattered hat aside. Barrel grabbed it and pitifully hid behind Carver in fear of his sister's incoming wrath.

"That. Was. An. Antique!" Shock screamed.

She grabbed Carmilla's skirt to yank her to the ground, with the intent to slam her right into it.

Lillith might have been right that she'd been looking for an excuse to fight. And Carmilla picked the worst possible catalyst. There were very few personal possessions Shock put any value in, given her and her brothers' destructive lifestyle. But that was the one thing that had grown up with her since childhood, the one thing that lasted through years of pranks, brawls, and mischief.

And now she was going to make Carmilla wish she'd waited the two minutes it would have taken for the prank to lose its humor before Shock let her out for other trouble.
Shock and Barrel laughed as they quickly scampered back up the rope, through the window, and up onto the bridge.

"Teach them to ditch practice," Shock said, once she was certain she was out of Lock and Lillith's earshot.

"Bet they won't think to look in the lining of the guitar case," Barrel said with a grin.

"Or in the salt shaker," Shock added.

That got both siblings to laugh again. Shock stopped quickly as her devious mind turned another notch.

"Although...we are out of the lair now. And they've been...what was it you said, Carmilla? 'Properly reprimanded'?"

Shock reached up and grabbed her hat, then quickly closed a fist around the rim to trap Carmilla inside.

"That means our truce is over," she said, "and since we have time, I'm going to have even more fun!"
Current plot set-up:

-Prank set-up started in the second half of September. Since then, almost a month has passed: Lock and Lillith ditched practice, and then Shock and Carmilla fought the next week. They skipped a week to let things cool, and then did a test week to see where things are.

-Carmilla gets her actual revenge on Lillith for her and Lock's anniversary (Oct 13)
-Epic prank/raised tensions
-Halloween
-Barrel/Agatha awkward date
-Break-up
-Rival bands
-Vengeful dating?
-Pitch

Halloween Prank:

-Dr. F and the clock. It may not actually have happened yet.
-Carmilla confirms the date.
-Sally figures out the fog/well
-Jack can't recall anything from the day before, and realizes neither can anyone else. Mayor freaking the fuck out as his first clue.
-Witches figure out the forget-me-lots
-Lillith figures out it was on purpose. Lock told her a while ago Shock was up to something, and "You'll forgive me later."
-Agatha recalls she sold Barrel fog juice and sundew sap.
-The vampires can remember they saw Shock climb down from Town Hall not long before the fog hit. A few other citizens can verify she was in the square.
Lock glowered as Carmilla made an admittedly good point. He looked between Carver and Barrel, and decided getting any assistance from either of them would be as helpful as trying to wipe off writing on a tombstone. He crossed his arms and glared at Carver.

"Like hell," he said, before a smirk crossed his lips. "But it was good."

After last week, he wasn't too keen on sharing their usual amusement regarding Barrel's obliviousness.

Shock glanced to Carver with an amused smirk. She had no intent of listening to Lillith, as she was waiting for the other boot to drop. And when it did, it warmed her wicked little heart to see Lillith lose it at Carmilla, which in and of itself sent her into a fit of laughter. Barrel joined her, and even Lock couldn't resist a few snickers at his girlfriend's expense. She abandoned him last week. This was payback.

When Carmilla motioned to them, all three of them swelled up with pride.

"You mean the fun level!" Barrel said with a grin.

"Far better than being--" Lock started.

"--A stuffy old corpse," Shock finished.

She mockingly raised her nose in the air.

"Darkness forbid a little dirt get on our robes; we might faint!"

Lock and Barrel both lost it. Lock recovered first as his momentarily-forgotten anger came back. Shock motioned for Carmilla to come over to the group, where she and Carver could provide some temporary sanctuary from her sister.

"Come on, guys," Shock said deviously. "Let's leave the love-bats to retrace their steps, since they obviously can't keep track of their things."

"I'm sure they'll appreciate the quality time together," Barrel said cheerfully, before he followed his sister up the rope ladder.

Lock glared at them, but since he didn't win the fight, he wasn't going to get anything from Shock, and if he tried to take on Barrel or Carver, it'd easily become three-on-one. He already hurt from his earlier tussle with Shock, and he didn't like his odds when Barrel and Carver were at full strength. He therefore flipped them all off, then started to search the lair for his guitar strings and Lillith's theremin pieces.
Barrel shook his head.

"Sorry," he said. "I really should just start having it on hand before practice."

Lock started to charge for his sister again, but was stopped by Lillith. He glared at Shock, who simply crossed her arms and stuck out her tongue. When Carmilla spoke up, Lock set his sights on her.

"You!" he cried. "You took them, didn't you?"

Lock ran for her, but found himself crashing to the floor as Carmilla used her vampiric speed to sidestep at the last possible second. He rolled forward and stopped only when his back hit the wall, much to his siblings' amusement.

"You done?" Shock asked.

Lock growled as he tried to get up again. He painfully stood up again and dusted himself off.

"Not until I find my guitar strings!"

"Then maybe you should stop fighting and start looking," Shock suggested.

"Or you can just tell me!"

Shock scoffed.

"Can't tell you what I don't know," she said.
Lock managed to pin his sister and grab her throat. Shock retaliated by grabbing his face and shoving his head back. With her longer arm, she actually had the advantage to keeping her brother from completely enclosing his hands around her throat. She grabbed one of his wrists with her other hand and tried to curl one leg up to kick him off.

"Kind of...busy..." she managed.

Lock used his tail to pry her hand from his face, then used it to hold her hand away from him so he could more tightly grip her throat.

"Not when...I'm...winning!"

Shock dug her heel into Lock's chest and kicked him. He let go of her throat, but kept his tail tightly ensnared around her wrist. With a growl, he grabbed one of her legs and bit down, which earned him a kick to the face. Shock rolled away from him, then braced herself as Lock got back to his feet. He dove for her again. Shock caught him, then tossed him near Lillith.

"There," she said as she dusted off her hands. "And if he's done, we can get started."

Lock pulled himself to his feet again.

"Not until you give me my guitar strings!"

"I told you, I didn't touch them!"

Lock glowered at her.

"But you know who did!"

"That's what you think!" Shock grinned, then took an opposing stance. "But if you want me to kick your ass again, I'm happy to oblige!"

The slide rattled as Barrel finally showed up. His clothes held a particularly rank odor from the sewers. He caught the last bit of Shock's taunt as he wandered over to the drums.

"Whoa. What'd I miss?"
Character Name: Maximus

Player: Lemonzest1337

Movie of Origin: Tangled

Additional Sources: N/A

Age: 5 (roughly 25 for a horse)

Reference: writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Maxim…

Personality:

Loyal - Maximus is loyal to those he cares for, foregoing basically everything else in order to make sure his companions are alright. If you got this horse as a buddy you’ve got a friend for life.

Brave - They don’t say hung like a horse for no reason, and even among horses Maximus has some massive balls. Maximus has little time to spend being afraid, that would take away from ass kicking time and Max can’t have that. This isn’t to say that Maximus is infallible, things like a massive tidal wave or the threat of plummeting to curtain doom are enough to startle this stallion.

Intimidating - Maximus is an intimidating beast. When you walk into a tavern full of barbarians, thieves and murders. And you’re still the most frightening thing in the room. That’s when you know you are one scary mother.

Lawful - As a member of the royal guard Maximus loathes criminals and their dastardly deeds. If Max sees an evildoer casing problems he finds it hard not to step in. Though he can look the other way if he knows that the criminal act is for the greater good (eg prison break).

Abilities:

Horse - Maximus is a horse. You can put a saddle on him and ride him around, he can pull carts too.

Stamina - Maximus has a great deal of stamina being able to run for a good time at high speeds. But when Max runs out of gas it takes a lot of food and time for him to refill his stamina reserves.

Strength - Maximus has a great deal of strength behind him, being able to carry heavy loads and push barbarians out of his way with relative ease. Though while he does have a lot of raw power he can’t apply it in as many ways as a human can, having little to no dexterity due to lack of hands.

Sense of smell - Max has a very keen sense of smell akin to a bloodhound. He is able to track specific people from absurd distances once he has locked onto their scent.

Martial training - While he does lack hands Maximus has shown himself to be rather skilled with a sword. While wielding a blade in your mouth is rather unorthodox Max makes it work. While he is good with a sword he can’t outperform an equally skilled human.

Flaws:

Can’t speak human - He’s a horse.

Stubborn - Maximus is pretty stubborn. If he doesn’t like you he’ll not listen to what you have to say. He may begrudgingly agree with you on things that are reasonable, but what he finds reasonable and what you find reasonable might not line up. But if he likes you then he’s a lot easier to work with. If you’re struggling try apples, Max loves apples.

Horse - He doesn’t have hands, hands are kinda useful.

Temper - Maximus can be a bit of a hot head at times. While it’s rare for him to go off, when he does whoever ticked him off is in for a while ride.

Companion(s): N/A

Brief History: Maximus was born and raised to serve King Frederic and Queen Arianna as a loyal member of the royal guard. And boy did Maximus serve. Max stood out from the other horses, showing extraordinary bravery and devotion to upholding the laws of Corona. Max’s outstanding performance among his peers led to him becoming the head honcho of the royal guard horses, an alpha male of sorts. Keeping his comrades following the orders given out by the royal guard captain.

Though his life was thrown into a bit of a loop when he encountered a girl named Rapunzel who had impossibly long hair. Maximus ended up looking after this girl and helping her to fulfill her dream of seeing the floating lanterns the King and Queen. Little did Maximus know that this girl was in fact the long lost daughter that the King and Queen had lost many years ago. And with the help of the thief Flynn Rider, Maximus was able to reunite the royal family. Oh yeah, he also stopped all the crime in Corona overnight.
"Years of practice," Shock said with a grin.

Of course, she got her practice from the art up in their tree house. Shock tossed the lipstick back to Carver for safekeeping.

Over the following week, Lock spent a good chunk of his time collecting forget-me-lots, powdering and storing the ones that already dried, and helping Shock coach Barrel on potions. He also used a mask to hide his face to go to the Witches' Shop for something to remove the lipstick. Agatha gave him the run-around about the potential mischief he could cause with it, and after having her fun, finally sold it to him after promising a date with Barrel.

Well, he wouldn't call it a date, but sure, he could probably trick Barrel into meeting Agatha sometime next week. And speaking of dates, Lock made sure to arrange one with Lillith. He didn't want a repeat of last week.

By the time the next band practice came around, Shock was in a better mood, as the plan was coming together. Barrel was late again, probably doing whatever down in the sewers. Lock made his way down the slide after Shock to at least get things set up. Shock landed first, then stepped out of the way so Lock wouldn't crash into her. She straightened her skirt, then calmly walked to set up the microphone. Lock went to his guitar case to tune it...only to find that the strings were missing.

"Shock!"

Shock turned to him.

"What?"

Lock pointed to the guitar.

"Where are the strings?"

"How should I know?" Shock asked. "I'm not in charge of your things."

"You did it to punish me!"

"I did nothing."

Lock growled as he caught the specification.

"Who did, then? Barrel? Carver?"

Shock shrugged with a smirk. Lock tackled her. Shock went down, but carefully positioned her body as she fell. She leaned back to throw her brother off of her. Lock slammed hard into the floor, but recovered quickly. He dove for his sister's legs as she got up. The two of them would still be brawling as the others arrived, with the only care to keep the fight away from the instruments.
"Probably just enough to dye his horns," Shock said sweetly. "Think you can hold him still long enough?"

Lock struggled again.

"You wouldn't--!"

He knew they would. He tried a different tactic.

"Lilliiiiiith! Help!"

Lock watched the ceiling. He saw Lillith nod and come down...only to fly out the window after her sister. Which only got his own siblings to laugh that he'd been abandoned.

"Damn it, Lillith!" he cried. "You traitor!"

Shock grinned at Carver.

"Toss me the lipstick."

As soon as the pumpkin creature retrieved it from her cage, Shock had Barrel hold Lock's head still so she could carefully paint the dull rose pink onto Lock's lips, with a further threat that if he moved them too much, she'd make him look like Clown. Lock grimaced. If it were red or black, he might not have minded too much, but no. The one color Carver stole had to be pink, and it would horribly clash with his red hair.

Once the lipstick set, Shock allowed Carver to let him go. The glower she got from Lock triggered another fit of laughter. Barrel fell over too.

"So pretty!" he said.

"Screw all of you!" Lock cried.

"I'll get the drill," Shock offered.

Lock flipped her off, then headed out of the lair.
