So, there's this rabbit outside my house, and I'm not sure what to do with it. It sits there sometimes, eating grass and staring into space. It isn't mine, though, so it runs off when we approach.

Well, how is everyone? Are we all still alive? Anyone do anything big or interesting lately?

My wifi is down at home so I don't have internet there. Still have some at school, though.
Oh good. More pain, more annoyance. The girl’s skateboard knocked into his legs, causing untold amounts (probably not much) of damage. Victor sighed, for more than one reason.

The first was pain. He was sure all the physical contact would at the very least leave a bruise. Well, that might be too optimistic of him. Secondly, the girl was kind of dumb. That much was obvious, anyway. It wasn’t like everyone knew the word clairvoyant, but there were at least a few things to keep in mind.

They were in hell. 30 people were split up into pairs on either side of a carpet with a knife in between. Some abyssal demon said that he shouldn’t have to explain anything. It was pretty obvious that it was a battle to the death. The fact that the girl had believed they didn’t have to fight proved that she was at least gullible.

Victor muttered quietly in a low voice as he got up to a sitting position.
“Gramps, give me everything you got on what just happened.” Victor said.

“If I do that, you’ll just get out of this, wouldn’t you?” His grandpa said nonchalantly.

“If you don’t tell me, you’ll be in a whole lot of trouble.” Victor muttered, getting to his feet. “I’m sure grandma would love to hear of your… exploits.”

His grandpa visibly shuddered.

”Fine.” His grandpa said. “Just this onc-”

“Do it fast, or I’m dead.” Victor hissed. “Again.”

He’d muttered to his grandpa just quiet enough for the girl not to here, but it would doubtlessly look like he was talking to himself if she was looking at him. That wouldn’t convince her that he wasn’t crazy, but maybe he was. He wouldn’t really lose much if she did, though, so it would be probably be fine. Maybe.

“Ahem.” Victor coughed, on his feet.
In truth, he was buying time as his grandpa told him the details.

“Before you fell asleep, a white haired guy threw a shark at a girl. Demon guy explained that you all have powers.” His grandpa said quickly.
“Clairvoyance is…” Victor said, pausing for dramatic effect (and time).
“Then demon guy said something about a test… I don’t remember, I wasn’t really paying attention.” His grandpa continued.
“Let’s just say I can see… stuff.” vaguely.
“Then you all got split up into pairs. Gotta say, there’s a lot of interesting ones, kehehe…” His grandpa said weirdly.
Get your mind out of the damn gutter, old man. Victor thought, but he didn’t say it out loud.
“You see, I was asleep, but I could hear stuff. See stuff.” Victor added quickly.
“Hoo, yes. Wonderful pairings. Power clashes. Those two will be done soon. This batch is turning out well…” His grandpa chortled.
Just shut up! Victor thought.
He had already found out everything he needed to know.

Victor coughed again, setting out the facts in his head.
“My power is clairvoyance.” Victor lied. “To see stuff, and hear stuff, I can’t normally see.”
He sounded confident, more structured. Hopefully, this would convince the girl that he was telling the truth. Because in all honesty, he had no idea what his power was at all.

“So I know stuff, like how demon guy said that he shouldn’t have to explain anything.” Victor said convincingly. “A lot of people thought that meant that they had to kill each other to pass the test…”
As Victor said that, a person on some other carpet nearby fell off and smashed into the ground below. His body bloomed into raspberry jam below.
“But look at it this way…” Victor said quickly, to keep the girl’s attention. “He never actually said that killing the other person would mean you pass, right?”
well, in any case, I won't be able to respond in a while. I'm going home sooner or later so my Wifi will be gone. Guess I'll do it tomorrow.

AIDS.

Swiss Army Knife.

I see. The bottle opener is pretty deadly.

Wait a sec, AIDS has a 0% mortality rate and Switzerland is usually neutral.

Please do exactly that. When I was choosing from my characters, I realized that I have more bad guys who fit into this setting than good guys. Ended up with Mancer, but I'm going to have more. Just be sure to give a credible reason for your character being evil. It can be anything from being a demon to having a magical affliction to circumstance to insanity, but bad guys with interesting backstories are always way better than the 'for the evulz' fellas you sometimes see.

Alright, thanks. I got 2 ideas for NPCs right now. One's a terrorist freedom fighter, for the Arcadian commune if we ever get there.

The other is the mind sculptor, and let's just leave him at that for now.

So I'll work on those as well, should wifi permit it.

Also, I came up with another affinity combo. Terra + Viniculum = Gravity magic, or Aura + Viniculum = Gravity magic. Either one.
Name: Aron ‘The Shark’ Aurum

Sex: Male

Age: 35

Race: Human

Affinity: Lucrum

Personality: Aron isn’t exactly a smart man. He’s rather flamboyant and outspoken and lets his emotions go pretty often. He’s rather upbeat and lighthearted, however. When he’s drunk, he’s about the same, with less balance. He’s kind of petty at times as well, and he likes laughing in most forms (including laughing evilly). The biggest thing about him, though, is the fact that he loves money. He wants a lot of money. He's a huge cheapskate, a cheat and doesn't like being stolen from. He can gain people's trust through a drink and some banter but don't be surprised if he makes you pay for it, and if you're wallet's gone, it'll be his fault. Basically, he's a reasonably cheerful rogue with a fab beard. He has a comedic outlook on life because he feels that it can't be much worse.

Greatest Love: Gold, gold, gold and gold. And maybe alcohol.

Motivation(s): Gold, gold, gold and gold. Wants to be a real pirate one day. Wants to steal the Ankou.

Fighting Style: Pirate fighting, even though he isn’t really a pirate! Dirty tactics, wild chops, all of that! Semi-skilled swordplay offset by whatever he found on the floor!

Pirate fighting is somewhat similar to bar fighting. Use whatever you have and some of what others have. Aron mixes semi-skilled swordplay with one-handed gunplay. He’s not a great marksman, but it won’t matter if their close enough. Aron’s kind of proficient in most one handed weapons and he’ll figure out a way to use any he isn’t proficient in. He’s pretty good with most firearms as well, and he knows how to fire a cannon.

With that said, his fighting style revolves around doing everything possible to win. Kicking sand, dirt, rocks, throwing rock, bottles, setting stuff on fire. It emphasises dodging over defence (as pirates don’t really wear armour). In constant life and death situations, Aron has learned how to live life on the edge. Think of something, he’ll probably use it. He also adds biting to his list of moves, and you’ll see why in a second.

He's got a steel sabre and a revolver, as well as bombs, cigars, a lighter and spare bullets. Also has some spare metal stuff for food.

Oh, in regards to world building, I kind of want to make some antagonists or just bad guys. I want to have more fun with spells, see, and the forbidden affinities are begging to be played around with.

Or at least NPCs, I have some ideas for stuff. I just want to play around with what I can do, basically.
Ok, did the edits. Is it alright now?
I have a sneaking suspicion that Marianne is going to get stabbed.

Why?
Here's my pirate. It's a bit rushed and all, and I'm purposefully trying to toe the line as to what's acceptable so feel free to poke holes in it. Want @Lugubrious to see if all the things I tried are alright.

And if anyone missed it, he can't live without eating something metal.
