Bio

Been on-and-off of the site for a long time. Male, late-twenties. My interests are varied, but steer towards western fantasy and sci-fi. I'm picky with my weeb media.

Okay, so this is how it's going to be:3 males (due to the ammount that have applied) and 2 females to start off with. I'm really struggling to pick the two additional males to my 1. Do any of the 3 of you (Lucian, ThatCharacter, Scotsman) have a reason to be less favoured (i.e. not much interest, inactivity.) Of course if all three of you are enthusiastic for this, we'll have to find another way around the situation.

I'm pretty enthusiastic about this, myself. I'm also on every day, bar the weekends. I'll give it up if you truly want me gone, but I would love to be a part of this.
Absolutely interested in this. I see you don't have a Slytherin student yet. I'd love to fill that role. The Below CS is a work in progress, but I wouldn't mind some input if you have time, since you mentioned that acceptance would be difficult.

Name: Oliver Nott

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Physical Appearance:

__________________________________
Blood: Pure (Though this is unproven, it is widely accepted, as house Nott is listed as one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight families of "true pure-blooded wizards." Despite the fact that the veracity of the source of this claim is in doubt, it is still the accepted notion that the Notts are indeed a Pure-Blooded wizarding family.)

House: Slytherin

Wand: Coming to only nine inches, the wood is yew, carved into a curve in the handle that makes the wand seem shorter than most. The core is Dragon heartstring, which is a notoriously dangerous pairing with Yew wood, both to the weilder's enemies, and himself if he is not careful. Despite this, the combination of Yew and Dragon heartstring allows for easier spellcasting, and more powerful spells, though constant focus must be maintained to keep the wand in check when casting more difficult spells, lest the wand's famous temperament cause a backfire, or worse.

Companion: A mischievous and troublesome raccoon named Pickett

Favourite Lesson: Defense against the Dark Arts (Particularly Dueling)/Charms
Bogart: Himself as a Death-Eater

Personality: Sharp as a tack, Oliver has been doted on as a prodigy. He's a star in Slytherin, though his skills aren't quite on par with all of the attention he gets. He's well put-together, and mild-mannered, if a bit blunt. He takes his magical education seriously, but tends to spend too much time in the library. He holds his family name in disdain for siding with Voldemort in the war, and isn't a fan of the reputation of Slytherin house either, and is often defensive about the subject.

History: (including summary of first 6 years of Hogwarts) I'll get to it soon.

Other:
-Oliver handles himself well in courtship situations, and is known as somewhat of a flirt, though this has never lead to anything noteworthy.
-Oliver likes to attend Quidditch games, but would never dream of playing.

I'm definitely on board if we're doing the latter option, the Inquisitor's retinue. I'd love to play a Vindicare Assassin.
Gaius listened to the interrogator's orders, and the ensuing bickering silently as he collected his shield and power maul. He hadn't had to discharge his shotgun, which was good. This group was unstable, and Gaius wanted to be ready if it came to blows, in which case he would need all of the ammo he could conserve. He holstered his shotgun, but kept his maul in his hand. He approached the group, noting the psyker's disconcerted shudder, which made him slightly nervous himself. He gripped his maul a bit tighter. Wordlessly, he stepped to the center of the group, presenting his maul for all to see.

"Enough. We will all follow the Interrogator's orders, however, you are in violation of the Lex Imperialis by threatening an officer of the Imperium, Enginseer. Regardless of your past experience, I must stress the importance of keeping things in order in accordance with Imperial law. Let the Commisar, the Interrogator, or Myself deal with anyone overstepping their bounds, and I'll not be forced to take drastic steps to ensure this group's survival. As for you, guardsmen," Gaius gestured to Adrian with his maul, "Your offense seems minuscule considering our current state of affairs, but I would ask that you trust in the interrogator's intellect. Now, should any of you decide to step so far out-of-line again, The Commisar, or myself, will be well within our rights to exact punishment." As Gaius finished, he hooked the maul back into it's proper place on his belt, and went about gathering some gear to carry.

I've been having some troubles with the website.

Everyone has. Mahz is working on it, according to Guru. Use the facebook page to stay updated if you want.

Also, Raineh, your post is confusing slightly. I know it didn't involve Gaius whatsoever, but I still feel the need to make a point here. You sorta' god-modded your character's threat, and then dressed it up in a weird way to allow the possibility of the other character dodging, I guess? Seemed weird. I think maybe just the words would have sufficed.

Someone else would have ruined it as well.

I know, I'm only ribbing you.
So, right now, there are 41 posts in the IC. Just sayin'.

EDIT: The blame goes to Necrosis for spoiling it.

So hey, finally got something out. Even if the middle section is just rambling. ^^;

Looked fine to me. Character development is never rambling. :P
By the time Gaius had rended the first mutant with his power maul, several others had emerged from the bushes. Grav had lunged into them and was smashing them apart, no longer relying on his weapon. Gaius continued to back toward the camp, keeping his shield up and facing toward the bushes. Another mutant came at him with a sharp, jagged stick, which snapped on his shield. Gaius retaliated with a swipe of his maul, taking the thing's head from it's shoulders. Still more kept coming, with Gaius' shield and maul deflecting and counter-striking respectively. However, even with the Ogryn and the Proctor, some of the mutants were getting past, and into the makeshift crash site/camp. Gaius heard a zap and a shriek, and then the boom of a high-powered rifle as the mutant to his right was blown off it's feet in an eviscerating explosion.

Now that he was in the camp proper, he stopped giving ground to the mutants, and began the righteous task of decimating them with his power maul. On the offensive now, he charged one of the mutants and drove it to the ground with his shield, discharging the shield's shock-plate, and frying the creature. Another approached him, and he hurled his mace at it, landing a blow center mass, throwing the mutant onto it's back. Gaius stood up, leaving his shield on the mutant corpse, and drew his shotgun from it's holster, pumping the action with a deliberately loud noise. If they came any closer, they would get a face full of amputator shot.
Perhaps they remained unconscious until the sound of combat woke them. And, like Daze said, they could have been taken for a corpse.

EDIT: Or, maybe their lifepod had a more competent pilot, no offense to Rayvius.
