Bio

For my bio I'm just going to repost my introduction, seems the simplest:

Greetings everyone and welcome to my introduction. My name is Ben and I am a 16 year old male from the United States of America, born on March 14th, 2001.

In terms of my roleplaying career, I have been roleplaying and writing for about 6 years (yes, since I was 10) and nearly 2 months now by the time of writing this. My very first experiences with role playing, while rather cringey to me personally, was on Minecraft Classic Edition, where I would play as a...highly overpowered...mage character. Now, I was ten and personally thinking back to the role play that took place back then I do find myself wishing I had the same skill I do now. Quick note while we're on the topic, I am not saying that role playing on Minecraft is cringey, I'm saying I was highly cringey when doing it. Though to be honest, it wasn't really a hobby back then, just something I did without even much context on what role play was. It only became a hobby around 2015 or so, when a friend of mine introduced to me the site of Pyx. Now, unfortunately I was still very, VERY cringey back then. I mean, I was the power fantasy godmodder back then who had a roster of gods. But hey, I deleted them all. It wasn't really until 2017 that I bettered myself but I think I'm a much better and much less cringey role player and writer now. I'm no longer the cancerous godmodder kid I was back then, and I take pride in my writing.

In terms of my favorite genres, it would have to be the following:

Heroic Fantasy: Ah yes, the thrill of a bunch of rag tag adventurers setting off and crawling through dungeons, fighting monsters, and doing quests for different nations around the vast world. This is very fun to do in my opinion and leads to plenty of exploration if you get creative enough, and it's even better with dice, which I normally don't like but if you get creative enough with the dungeons dice can really introduce a whole new factor.

Epic Fantasy: A tale of diverse races, warring nations, politics, regions and continents. all forms of monstrous abominations, elemental and mystical realms and planes of existence, powerful dragons and undead overlords, ancient evils and gods of old. The access of magic varies from place to place, allowing much diversity. One land may use magitech while another may be an industrial nation. And the characters, various and diverse, all with fascinating tales and endless possibility awaiting them.

Dungeon Punk: Just the idea of a world that mixes together the entire bounty hunter with lots of guns and powerful magic intrigues me. If done well it can be a great adventure.

Steampunk: Steampunk technology at it's core is highly interesting, it gives a feeling of fantasy yet can still offer technology which bewilders and fascinates you.

Science Fiction: Ah yes, heading off into the stars, countless planets and galaxies to explore in the vast universe, different inter-galactic civilizations and epic space battles, and immense technology. If aiming for more fantastical elements, one could introduce psionics, techno-magic, eldritch beings/planes, and even multiverse theory. I mean, why not right? That's what's so amazing about fiction, the possibilities.

Urban Fantasy: We're getting close to my favorite, which comes last. Now Urban Fantasy allows a modern day setting but you can introduce the concept of technology co-existing with magic, and perhaps explore racism in regards to different races, see how they are viewed by humans. Fun if said humans are the dominant species.

SCIENCE FANTASY: Yes my favorite of all times! Combining the realms of Heroic Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Dungeon Punk, Steampunk, Science Fiction, and Urban Fantasy all in one. Maybe that sounds stupid, but that's what pyx and Azarezal (these being the rps I loved the most) were like. And it offered so much creativity and so much diversity. Honestly, if anyone was willing to give this a shot, I'd be hooked.

Now in regards to preferences. First of all, I really enjoy group roleplays and I go by the ideal that the more people there are the more interesting it can be. While I do think a world should be properly built beforehand personally, I see nothing wrong with the idea of letting others introduce their own monsters, nations, factions, etc. just to let everyone have some level of control. This can be moderated mind you.

However, I also enjoy 1x1 roleplays because first off if I need to take a break it doesn't fuck over everyone, and secondoff if the plot is good, sometimes only 2 people can make things easier to handle but still just as enjoyable.

Now, I love the idea of intense plot, detailed worlds, detailed lore, interesting characters and their development throughout the course of a long running role play without a set end goal, one where creativity can truly feel alive. At the same time, I have no issue with the fast paced role plays, as long as I can still express creativity within a degree, all is good.

In terms of length I generally do semi paragraph to paragraph posts but can do one liners if needed. When it gets to multiple paragraphs, I CAN do it, but it'll be hard, and honestly not my comfort zone...

Now then, hobbies. Besides writing and role playing I game from time to time, and my favorite games include World of Warcraft, the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, Dishonoured, Dark Souls, and the Warhammer series.

Besides that, I do spend a lot of time on Discord and love to make new friends. I also like swimming and spending time with my girlfriend.

Anyways, to end this long post. *gives potato, don't ask why*

EDIT
==========================================

I'd like to just add on to my preferences real quick, as there was something I (believe) I did forget to mention. While I don't mind the prospect of canon characters appearing within non-canon realities (through some interdimensional explanation or whatever) I am not so keen on the idea of participating in a roleplay that takes place in a canon universe. I prefer new and creative worlds, not fan-fictions of other worlds. Not that I'm bashing on it, that's just not my thing.

Anyways, with that cleared up that should be an official end to my introduction and biography.

I had an idea and I'd like your thoughts.

Someone who can create music with their hands essentially. (If used properly this can provide an excellent tool in hypnosis and can trigger certain things in the mind, as well as distract enemies, damage hearing, and enhance physical attacks through vibrations).

Besides that they'd just have Flight, Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Speed, and Enhanced Durability.

Their civilian identity would be a high school student and musician for hobby.

So I want to give them electricity powers but I'm worried that in and of itself is too overpowered, looking at it now on the powerlisting site it seems to grant access to some pretty bullshit stuff.

Can I pick and choose which applications she gets, trying to keep this from being too overpowered.

Yeah the deactivating powers thing is very OP avoidable or not, if someone were to have that power I'd restrict maybe only to a short distance around them and make them very vunerable while using it and it taking a toll on their life force/energy. But I'm sure no one wants to play that character.

Shock based abilities sounds good.

I mean, I'd be perfectly willing to add in those restrictions to it.
So I had an idea but I want to run it by first.

Would it be necessarily OP to have an individual who can temporarily deactivate powers with avoidable ranged attacks?

I was thinking a small little squad of people who use their powers to uphold the law against dangerous criminals and may have certain villains and gangs on their watch list. The leader would be able to put a lock on superhuman powers by affecting the genetical codes that allow it for a short amount of time.

All anti-heroes though.

If you guys think it is too op I can just tone her powers down to normal shock-based abilities.

I'm up for all of these if this thread is still recruiting people. :)
Would you be interested in the following pre-set?

Long-Term

Alternate Universe
Supernatural Hunter Mortal X Innocent Mortal
I'm very interested in this one for sure, and I'm happy to find a fellow powerlisting user.

Mind if I have your discord tag? I'd like to discuss a few questions I have with you if you'd allow me to.
