OK, I'll keep it in mind when assembling the next sorties and posts for later - We'll just assume Farid has just gone very quiet and is tagging along and has done his bit during the mission. I was planning on making the next sortie, after we've had a bit of time to interact, a bit shorter than the first one and linked directly into the one after. Once those two are done, I might open up the first round of new aircraft for possible upgrades, linking in with story events.

That's great! Can you enlighten me about how the upgrading will work? You just like, choose which module do you want to add (replace the older one, that is) or is it more complicated?
After everyone landed, the squad got together behind Colonel Yosef. A man named Gates, apparently the captain's executive officer, took the group in a small tour around the not-so-usual carrier. Being already fascinated, Matt paid attention closely. He knew that - unlike in the Scottish base - they're in for the long haul here and such, he wanted to get familiar with the place. After meeting with another important crew member, Gates handed out tablets for everyone, explaining how the entire carrier is part of an internal network and such, they're able to see any sort of information they could possibly ask for on the device, including briefings and orders. Even though Matt wasn't the biggest techie around, he enjoyed and appreciated technology.

Eager to start using the tablet immediately, he decided to hold himself until the tour was done. He didn't even know where are the living quarters yet. His wishes were answered as they finally arrived to a larger room with double-bunks. They weren't too spacious nor too comfortable, but he was actually pleased with them. After all, this is a submersible aircraft carrier and the conditions were still better than what he was used to on normal carriers. As the Colonel said, it will be their "own little piece of home" for the time being. Seeing that some of his fellow pilots already picked a bunk, he settled on one of them as well. He took the top bed, the bottom still empty. He didn't really have any friends in the squad as of yet nor he had a piloting pair.

Finally getting time to use the tablet and dive into the knowledge base, he started with learning a little bit about the carrier itself, which - it turned out - was named Nimue. He did not have any questions to the Colonel as of yet and those that came into his mind were answered by the device. However, he started getting seriously hungry and more importantly, thirsty. He didn't even notice while in the air, but now that everything was settled, the needs stormed him. So when she offered to go to the mess hall with another pilot, he decided to join. He jumped off the bunk and asked the two: "I apologize for the interference, mind if I join?"

Everybody wants me to sell my playstation and get an xbox one e.e

If it's a PS3, I don't think it's worth selling it, tbh. Not yet. You still have to invest plenty after you've sold it and games are still being made to current-gen consoles for years.

Road trip and stuff, enjoying summer before school starts again. You?

Ah, hope you're having fun with those!

I'm enjoying my summer too - playing games, going out to the beach...that kind of stuff!
How have you been buddy? :D
*pokes back*

You're not alone. :D
It's basically two three-person groups (me, Rhapsody, you and Wiki, Penguin, you). As you can see, you're in both of them. :D
The order of posting doesn't really matter, the only "requirement" is for everyone to post in a "round" so the story can move on.
All right, posted, finally, let's get moving! Sorry for the wait everyone! Been playing Skyrim pretty hard. :3

For the more GM-ish stuff,

Hope it's cool I added a side character. Belle is pretty much an NPC created so Willie wasn't all alone.

She's fine. Because you said she's an NPC, I assume you'll let others control her as well?
That would be suitable too. Ryan said when the girl mentioned that her van is parked near and they can escape by that. The injured guy could barely walk, so she needed to be with him. Especially if they planned to go through the forest. But first, they needed to pack up everything they wanted to carry with them, as it was unlikely that they will revisit this place anytime soon. Ryan still had his backpack on him and that was all he needed. He knew he had to make a final stand to give time to the two to get to that van. Even though his morale wasn't at its highest, he still felt a strange sense of warmth in his heart. The fact that the girl called him a "knight" just added to it.

Already turning back towards the creatures with his katana up, he stopped when he heard the guy telling him that he has guns and ammo in his bag. "Why thank you! This will surely help..." he said and rushed to the bag, searching through it. The guy didn't lie, it had a few guns and plenty of ammo inside. Thinking about what would be best for the situation, he finally settled on the hunting rifle. All right. This thing kicks like a mule and makes hell of a noise, but it punches hard and this is what matters now." he explained his decision to them. Knowing that he doesn't need to get up close and personal anymore, he stayed close to the pair and covered them from there. Taking careful aim before each shot, he did his best to keep his hands steady even in this moment of excitement and fear. Despite being lackluster for the first few shots, he managed to make most of the upcoming ones count.

Soon enough, the girl called over to him, signalling that they were ready to go. "Finally...let's move!" he responded.
After the dust has settled, the squad got into formation again, awaiting orders or just general information from the Overwatch. Matt was thinking about the battle, mainly looking for points of weakness and space for improvement. His overall handling was fine, his manouvers too; the Jaguar barely took damage. The base, Lossiemouth, on the other hand did get some missile impacts in important spots, making day-to-day operations even harder, but still sustainable, for the ground personnel. He noted that he could improve on target prioritization.

His analysis was cut short when the radio finally came into life. The Overwatch announced that the bandits they just destroyed were only for decoy and diversion, while the real force struck multiple targets in Europe, mostly Southern Europe, including Italy and Spain. Truly, Matt was surprised when he found out that the UNWO could reach this far into UN territory, but the fact they had the resources to just basically abandon numerous Flankers and Su-27s along with Tu-95s armed with missiles capable of destroying bases, blew his mind. Now he totally understood why the UN would authorize the creation of a squadron like Excalibur and he started feeling even more committed to the cause. The more time they spend destroying these bastards, the more lives they save and the closer they get to reunification of the world.

In light of these news, the squad was redirected to another carrier heading towards the Mediterranean area, the place of the UNWO's airstrikes. Soon enough, they would arrive to the aforementioned carrier, which became the second surprise Matt had in a short period of time. It was unlike anything he has ever seen. Sure, he heard about the UN's and the Avalon Institute's new prototype carriers, but he didn't think they'd look like that. The main problem was however, that they had to land on this thing. "But...how? Where to even start?" he asked himself. The runway was on the front end, not the rear, as he would've expected and because it was obviously in motion, the landing zone was basically approaching them. He watched how One and the others ahead of him attempt to land. To Eleven's request, Four gave a basic explanation, which helped him as well.

After doing some tries like the rest, he finally decided to go for it. Deploying the arrestor hook and eventually the landing gears, he carefully, but continously reduced his speed until he reached the runway and the aircraft stopped. For a moment he thought he flied too fast but in the end it was slow enough. "Seven landed. Phew." he said on the radio and got out of the Jaguar as the personnel on the ground made sure it was secured.
