One thing. Matt shook Natan's hands, which wouldn't normally be a problem, but I've just read that the Islam doesn't allow handshakes with non-Islamics, or something like that. Wondering if it's still fine to have the action in the post.
A few others also joined the group along with Matt. The battle surely took a toll on everyone's energies here. Almost everyone's. A new guy chimed in, introducing himself as Natan and stating that he is part of the squadron as well. Matt checked him twice, to make sure he really didn't participate in the battle, as he acted all natural about it. Ignoring his first thoughts, he didn't question him about what happened and what's the reason for his late arrival. He was pretty sure he has a good reason and he was not the one to ask such questions anyway. The Colonel was perfectly fine with it.

After his introduction, Matt introduced himself to him as well and shook his hands in a friendly manner. After all, he was one of them, even if he wasn't present at the "team building" mission. Everything settled, the group started making their way to the mess hall. They went through more of Nimue's areas and walked quite a bit even though they were technically on a submarine, which do not tend to be spacious. The mess hall itself wasn't very large, but it had everything it needed for a carrier canteen. There was a variety of meals available, mostly smaller snacks.

After picking up just enough food to satisfy his hunger, he sat down to the same table as Ariella. He waited for everyone to take their seats before starting to eat, a habit he acquired back in his childhood. Very true. he said when the Colonel mentioned the squad's wide range of nationalities and aircrafts. "Real jack of all trades. Let's just hope we can become master of all as well!" he continued with a smile on his face.
It would've been perfectly fine either way - your point is very valid. Glad you still posted though! ^-^

Actually if it's okay, i'm going to let Rhapsody post before me, at this point Dean's practically relying completely on Takiko to move so there isn't anything I can have him do right now.

So you're not planning to post in this round?
Hang on everyone, coming home today! :D

Also, best of luck with exams, Rhapsody!

No worries, I'm going to be away mostly, as it's my birthday on Monday, and I'm having a party tomorrow. I will try and get a post up over the weekend though.

Ah, happy early birthday then! :D

Test passed.
Just a heads-up, I'll be away for three days starting tomorrow. I'll be back on Monday. I'll be able to keep up with the OOC and the IC and maybe post in the former. =)

Dude. That post was amazing.

Agreed. I'd say it was worth the wait. :o
All right, posted! Let's get out of there!

Sorry again for the wait, I was pretty busy packing for an upcoming journey starting tomorrow. I will be unavailable for three days, ending on Monday. I will be able to keep up with the OOC (and maybe post there as well!) and I can also read the IC, but can't continue it unfortunately. You can keep posting or wait for me, it's up to you. =)

Edit: Also, 100th OOC post! :D
The group slowly made their way through the forest. Ryan kept reasonable distance between him and the others, in an attempt to draw creatures closer to him and away from them while he took them out one by one. As he expected, the sound of his hunting rifle in itself attracted more and more creatures with each shot, making the whole situation a ticking time bomb. They needed to reach the girl's van before they became overwhelmed. The enviroment was against them as well, as it was harder for Ryan to spot incoming monsters from behind the bushes and trees. After a while, he gave up trying to snipe them through the flora and started aiming at the closest ones, making sure they never reach biting distance.

Occasionally he looked back at the two, checking if they were still all right. It was vital that they don't stop moving, as allowing the creatures to catch up to them would be suicidical. Even though they progressed slowly, steadiness was more important. The vehicle shouldn't be far either, Ryan thought. His thoughts were finally confirmed as the girl announced that there's only a dirt road standing between them and freedom. "I assume this is it!" he said when they - at last - got out of the forest and onto the aforementioned road. He felt relieved, seeing that all of them made it relatively unharmed, but the final rush was still ahead of them and he couldn't celebrate just yet.

He changed formation, sticking closer to the pair, making him able to cover them from all directions, something which was more essential now that the creatures can attack from sideways too. Fortunately, the road wasn't very long and they soon reached the lone car standing at the end of the dirt path. Two stationary creatures were "guarding" it, easy targets for Ryan. After putting them down, he rushed ahead, making sure the van itself wasn't occupied by them. The vehicle was secured and the two finally arrived as well. All right, here we are, we made it! he said excitedly. However, he knew they still had to put the injured guy into a comfortable position inside, which takes time as well. Also, he couldn't drive, essentially forcing the girl to do it while she still had to care for her "patient".
