Thanks for the kind words. We'll see how much the situation allows for in every case.

I posted your character in the CHAR tab for the sake of clarity. Hope you don't mind, haha.

LADY CATHERINE ANNE WELLINGTON
17

Personality:A spirited and compassionate woman, her personality often goes against the expectations of her class. With an adventurous mind and fond heart, she loves to read and hear stories, the more fantastical the more she adores them. Well educated she has quite the smart head on her shoulders, though her education is limited to the classes deemed suitable for a woman. She was raised with the design that she would make a perfect wife, though her true desires yearn for much more.

Biography: Third child and only daughter to Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick Wellington 4th Baronet. Lord Wellington is an ex British Army cavalry officer, as well as an expert on horses and Conservative politician, and has gained successful elevation within the peerage due to his outstanding military campaign, and his continued political standing. Frderick Wellington is also incredibly influential amongst those on the south coast, and has eradicated poverty with his agricultural projects, developing the lands and grounds of Havant, Leigh Park and his own Staunton Park.

His first born was Frederick Wellington III, who like his father joined the military and is ranked as officer. He is married with a son of his own, William.

Second born is Thomas Wellington, who has taken a more political route. An aggressive and determined man who lost his wife to childbirth, and has little to do with his daughter, Margaret.

Third born is the only daughter to the Baron is Catherine Wellington, and from her father she developed a love of animals, and was an accomplished rider from a young age. Catherine is perhaps not as serious as her brothers, having more a mind for fancy and adventure. She has a love of stories and fairy tales, and has always been a delight when presented in society, though of course her social interactions have been restricted due to her age.

But Catherine always had a strong love for the circus, and when she would pout at her abandonment from parties, her ever doting father would whisk her away to the circus and immediately put a smile on the girls face.

Catherine had a comfortable albeit restricted life, though the blonde is seldom without cheer. Though on her fifteenth birthday she met the man she was to marry, an aggressive and shrewd politician in league with her brother, a man of wealth and prospects, though without compassion or fondness for the frivolities and delights which Catherine adores.

This has not changed throughout the years, and even now as she approaches her eighteenth birthday and her nuptials are fast coming, it was young Catherine who urged her father to welcome in the circus to boost morale of his newly acquired lands.

The show was an unanimous success. After the finale, all of the animals were brought into the ring and took a ‘bow’ together—the horses raised a front leg and lowered their heads, the tiger crouched down, while the lion kept its head high and roared, signing everyone that this magnificent beast would not bow to any being. Except for Tobias, that is, who did manage to get a short crouch out of the king of animals, a feat regarded with a healthy share of laughs from the audience. Only at the very end did the tamer himself take a long, well-deserved bow to show his love for the people. And they indeed made sure to reciprocate the love—the standing ovation did not stop until Tobias showed one last little trick by jumping on the back of one of the horses and made it do a tall prance for several seconds. The stallion's almost victorious neigh was the true sign of the end of the performance.

In the next second, the big top tent became more cacophonous than ever as the hundreds sprung to their feet and started heading for the exits. Several assistants hurried into the ring, some tasked with keeping each of the animals calm and still while the rest leashed them and prepared to take them back into their enclosures. Tobias stuck with his seal brown coat, almost pitch black stallion, caressing its head and mane. Sullivan was his name, and he was the tamer's favourite horse. On some days, Tobias thought of riding out with him into the endless rural England and never returning. Not to say he was not happy with the circus—it provided him a livelihood and the priceless chance to cause people joy—, he simply wished for excitement. For adventure.

Although the show was over, some people remained in the tent and near the ring, seeking a chance to take one last look at the beautiful creatures before they were taken back to their places. Tobias encouraged them to come closer and interact with the animals, trusting in his own training abilities that they would not harm anyone.
The lion, Charles, garnered the most attention and it was where Tobias went to as well, making sure no one did something that could have angered the beast and having a few kind and even informative words to everyone. For the vast majority of people—himself included—, such circuses and carnivals were the only chances to see exotic animals from up close, it was no wonder they did not want to let the opportunity go to waste.

However, it did not mean the rest did not receive any recognition and Tobias made sure to see to the people at the others as well. This was how he eventually arrived to a young woman in an exquisite, faintly blue gown. She stood at the other notable horse in his performance, a mare who was almost a perfect opposite to Sullivan with her shining whiteness. The way the girl held herself even in the grass and mud gave away her noble parentage immediately.
“She's beautiful, isn't she?” Tobias spoke, stepping up next to the girl and stroking through the horse's pure white mane himself. “She's an English thoroughbred. Her name is Stargazer. She likes to stay awake at nights when we keep her outside.” He laughed. “But I'm sure you know plenty about her kind already.”
Woah, just woah. You...you sure know how to write, haha. Even better than what I've seen from all those months back. I don't yet know how I'll be able to keep up with the quality, but I'll try my best. Either way, it's surely going to take a lot more time for me than it apparently does for you. I'm naturally not a fast writer, and especially not when such high standards need to be upheld. Plus inspiration can be finicky sometimes. Posting once every day (aside from emergencies) is all I can promise.

Hope I won't disappoint you!
waiting for new posts...

Seconded!

Tobias Hicks

Age: 21

Personality: Mostly as a result of the life he led so far, Tobias Hicks is a shrewd and cunning man, someone who is not easily deceived, yet more than capable of deception himself. It is an ability he does not like to use however—he is usually kind and honest. The suffering of the roughest days did not break him, and he retains a positive and optimistic outlook on life that he had since childhood. He also treats all beings with respect, animals as much as people.

Backstory: Born from the illicit romance of an upper class gentleman and a Romani courtesan, Tobias was soon left in the care of the latter as the father did not acknowledge the bastard son. The local Gypsy community on the south welcomed them with open arms and Tobias found company with many similarly-fated children. He grew up receiving tender care from his mother, Esmerelda who never spared anything to make sure her son was well-fed and comfortable, often at her own expense. She greatly shaped the boy’s personality with her kindness and affection as well.

Perhaps the most notable experience of his earlier life was the ownership of Bubba, a stray Terrier dog her mother brought home to teach his son how to care for another being. Tobias grew very close to Bubba and soon found out he had a natural understanding for animals.

Thanks to these, Tobias grew up to be a strong and capable young man. He regularly did work with the other boys to help out the community and make some money to keep himself and his mother afloat in the day-to-day life. He steered clear of the ever-expanding industrial jobs and stuck to agricultural work. His years with Bubba made it so he could handle the oxen and horses better than his peers, so much that even his landlords took notice. One of them eventually recommended him to the travelling circus which had shows nearby in that year. They took him and Tobias Hicks began a new life as one of the most curious kinds of circus performers—the animal tamer.

After initial difficulties dealing with exotic animals he had never even seen before, such as tigers and lions, he had managed to find a common voice with them. He trained them through several weeks, forming stronger and stronger bonds with each animal. Needless to say, the audience rewarded his arduous efforts—and his good looks—and he became a very popular performer.

Now, a very influential officer and politician has hired the circus to perform on his behalf. The day before the act began, Tobias visited his good friend, the old mystic and fortune teller. She told him that his life was about to take a turn he would have never expected. Though the man believed it was because of the large monetary reward all performers would get from the politician after the successful show, he wished it was something else. Something…more exciting.
She is the prized daughter of an aristocrat, born to privilege and wealth and lined up to marry a man of wealth and status. One night in celebration of her coming nuptials, she attends the Gypsy fair that has come to the city.

Among the usual fortune tellers, freak shows and dancers there is one that captures her eye, the animal tamer. Devilishly handsome with tanned skin and dark hair, a body of perfectly sculptured muscles, he instantly has the girls in frenzy. But the to-be bride is enthralled, watching as he so easily and calmly works with the animals, from fierce tigers to more graceful horses; it is almost like their minds are connected.

Intrigued by him, she makes her way over after his display to talk to him. And the spark is instant.
Staunton Country Park Estate, 1875

The massive grass field was buzzing with upbeat music and the sounds, shouts and cheers of hundreds of people. Tents and rings occupied the land as far as the eye could see, varying in shapes and sizes. None of them was unattended, aside from the performers and entertainers there was a notable audience at each, sometimes watching in silent awe, sometimes bursting out in loud applause. Whoever wandered this way on this glorious midsummer day could see and know immediately: this was a place of extraordinary joy and wonder. This was the circus.

Not just any circus, either. One of England's biggest and greatest travelling shows, known from Newcastle to Portsmouth. It was a prominent topic of gossip in many a pub and beerhouse when the illustrious Baronet Sir Frederick Wellington hired the circus to give an astounding performance on his newest acquired lands of Staunton Country Park. The man already had fame and influence reaching through the south coast and even beyond, everyone knew this move was yet another attempt to further it. No one minded though—the circus was everyone's.

Truly everyone's, for anyone from the poorest factory worker to the richest lord could find something pleasing on the field. Those seeking a nice atmosphere could visit one of the bandstands to listen to the fine music of the brass bands there. Those looking for unadulterated fun instead could watch as Dropsy the Clown tricked and pranked the oblivious volunteers in dozens of hilarious ways.
Another very popular section was that of the artists, with acrobats, tightrope walkers and trapeze acts enrapturing the audience with seemingly impossible and death-defying stunts. Rowdy spectators made bets on when an artist would fail or fall, but they seldom won anything—this circus only housed talented performers.

If one was still not satisfied with the action, they needed to look no further: scattered around were those who dealt with only the most stunning displays. Jugglers challenged passer-bys to keep five or six balls in motion for a reward or amazed them by juggling things like lit torches. Others spun numerous plates atop tall poles, keeping them from falling with what seemed like sorcery.
One more different spectacle were the knife throwers who once again relied on bold volunteers to display their skill and accuracy with the deadly tools. Some were crazy enough to go much further and swallow the knives before following up with eating and then breathing out fire.

A break from the intensity was much needed for many after all these, and they quickly found their way to the tents of the mediums, mesmerists and fortune tellers. The Gypsy community was most prevalent in this section, many venerable women had practice in such arts.
For just a small fee, curious watchers were shown a variety of mystical and occult acts, ranging from crowd pleasers to those very personal in nature. Many asked for various spells and blessings to be applied to them, each wishing for what they lacked the most: health, wealth or even love. Some ached to hear about their lost loved ones once more through a medium who claimed to be able to summon the spirit of the dead.

However, many would argue that these numerous aforementioned acts all pale in comparison to the one that could be seen—and was being seen by a huge crowd—in the middle of the field at the largest ring: the performance of famous animal tamer Tobias Hicks.
The young man arrived to the scene an hour ago, standing atop not one, but two large horses prancing in complete sync. He presented himself to the growing audience and began his show, which has been going on without a break ever since. First were a number of tricks with the two horses which demonstrated complete trust in both each other and their trainer. Many gentlemen noted that if their own stallions were this calm and well-groomed, they would have been just as successful in the military as the organiser Sir Wellington.

The equestrian show was just the beginning however, as soon there were new animals led into the ring by Tobias' assistants. A collective gasp escaped the audience when the majestic lion let out a mighty roar or when the fierce tiger pounced to the edge of the ring as if it wanted to feast on the onlookers today. Though this of course did not happen, Tobias made sure to keep up the excitement as he laid his head into the lion's mouth for several seconds and rode the tiger as if it was a mere horse. When the excessive noise of the people started bothering the animals, he calmed them down and continued.

Suddenly, he stepped out of the ring and took the hand of one lucky lady from the front rows. He brought her inside and guided her to do a few simple stunts with the two animals who seemingly accepted her just as they did Tobias. The trainer took a bow together with his ‘accomplice’ after the successful performance and led her out of the ring.
Nothing else was needed for the rest. The front rows filled with girls screaming and reaching over into the ring, dying for a chance for a couple minutes spent together with the exotic animals...and their even more exotic tamer.
There should be a game where we guess what kind of a person someone is, solely based on their 10 random songs. It wouldn't be accurate, but it'd be pretty fun! Methinks, at least.
