“The Gargoyle Corridor”
6:32 AM
James MacFusty

The MacFusty heir was a tall blur of black, red and gold as he raced up the moving staircases three steps at a time, the bristles of his broomstick digging in to the precise beat of his racing heart. With his shirt half-buttoned, his tie knotted around his neck like a noose and his arms full of a garish Quiddich uniform, it was not a surprise that he could barely see where he was going – particularly with a sweat-slicked fringe matted over his eyes like a blindfold.

Thus, when he detoured into the third floor corridor, the one with the twisting statue of the gargoyle that he knew intimately from his various punishments over the years, he only saw the Headmaster at the last minute and had to swerve to avoid him. Swerving, as it turned out, was nearly impossible with untied laces, leaving Jimmy as a tangle of limbs on the floor.

“Practicing my flying, sir! Got to make sure I'm at my best – can't have Slytherin winning, y'know?” he managed out in response to the Professor Gurgenhiem's question, trying desperately not to look him in the eye. The Headmaster was a great man, to be sure, and the Gryffindor felt particularly dishevelled in front of him after flying laps around the school and through the trees on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest. Jimmy discreetly pulled a few twigs out of his hair.

Jimmy's tortured breathing calmed down, thankful for the break from the exertion of climbing the stairs. “And there's a – a quick path up to the Gryffindor common room through this floor. If I went the... conventional way, I'd never make it before breakfast.” He tried to peer nervously around the Headmaster's frame and vibrant robes to see if the portrait was still empty. Once it was filled with its inhabitant – Lady Lerissa, a witch from the 14th century – the secret staircase would be blocked off... and she always returned from her wanderings at twenty to seven on the dot. “I... uh, am I in trouble?” he asked, sidling his way along the wall as if he were about to make a break for it.

I wonder if there might be some common ground between Evelyn and Alistair. Drinking from the English? Count him in -- he's a patriot.

I'm sort of torn on what weaponry for my character might be. I'd prefer him to have a sword, even if it turns out underpowered once we get more details on the setting, because it seems like an "honourable" choice. On the other hand, guns are cool and make sense for the time period...

Too many choices >.<
sudden but inevitable betrayal

Tiiiiiiiiide. We need more Firefly quotes in this OOC. I'm leaving that up to you.
Me me me!
I do sort of agree with Stitches on this. Reading personalities is far too OP, at least in my opinion, and nothing to do with what precognition actually is.

EDIT -- though to be fair, Caelum thinks Nicki's a bit of a nutter as well.
Caelum C. Jameson

Standing somewhat awkwardly, shifting from side to side in the mud, Caelum stared at the newcomer in an attempt to associate him with one of the blacked out files. It had been clear in length alone which was Risty's, same for Nicki's, and the others had named on them. It must've been one of the various blank files, little more than a cardboard folder and a piece of pure, A4 paper lying inside it. Scott Riley, huh.

"Nice to meet you - even if you are a bit late. I'm Caelum," she ended up saying, taking the file with a pensive frown plastered across her face – almost as if she wanted to say something but hadn't quite worked it out yet. Pistons were firing somewhere inside her brain, connecting dots and nicknames to faces.

"Did you just call my doctor a psychopath?" asked Caelum as if she were talking about the weather, absently leafing through the file with an false expression of disinterest across her face. "That's offensive, if you did. I prefer the name F. Sharpe for her – you know, like the musical note? – and... what does 'Hulk Smash' even mean?" Turning quickly towards the now-open ship, she gestured for the crew to head inside to stand in the cargo bay, knowing that the internal doors would be locked until the passcode was entered for them.

She didn't particularly want to think about the offensive new Psyche, not when she had one already, and didn't turn back for an answer. Instead, she busied herself with the files.
<3 <3 <3 Can't wait to see Scott IC!
Will we be having Head Boy/Head Girl and Prefects?
Well, yeah -- it was due in daaaays ago though, so it's just luck.
