Leander leaned back against his workbench in exhaustion, running a tired hand through his hair as he watched his previous patient disappear through the rickety wooden door that creaked and groaned ominously at being opened. He really ought to fix that before it falls off its hinges... but...

No time like the present, he supposed.

The alchemist carefully packed away the needle and thread he'd used to sew up a gushing wound on the man's arm – one he suspected to be from a knife, not that it was any of his business. That was life in the poorer maze of streets unseen in Amaryth, the one he could do the most good in: “they don't tell, you don't ask”. He doubted that he would understand all of the man's words, anyway, jumbled and panicky and pain-stricken as they were.

He had only just set over to the door to inspect it when a woman burst in, a neighbour. Leander knew her well enough (Lily, he thought her name was) and even simply knowing of her profession made him blush beet-red. “Leander!” she called as if they were old friends. “I need a bit more of your... ahem, treatment!”

Lily strode over to the worktable, flipping her blonde braid over her shoulder and pulling the arm of her dress back over her shoulder. Back in Kalnach, she would've been killed for such an undignified appearance – at least, that's what he'd heard of the cities. Shamed eternally, with no reputation to use to find a husband, start a family. Leander could admit to being just a little apprehensive about treating such a girl, but he suppose if he had healed criminals and murderers in his time, a woman with loose morals wouldn't be so much worse.

“Hi,” he replied awkwardly, turning around to fetch a vial of some colourless, odourless substance from its hiding place at the bottom of a jar. Time spent in his home village had taught him to be very careful with where he placed his cure lest an inquisitor find it easily. The flower crown from which the medicine derived from was sitting on the desk, three blooming specimens curling around it, and he was thankful that he didn't have to have it permanently attached to him.

“So you know,” Lily started slyly as she gulped down the medicine, legs dangling from her position on the table. “You've been helping me out a lot lately, and I know the Madam pays generously but... maybe you deserve a bonus.”

Leander gulped. “Maybe some other time...” he managed to get out.

“Oh? Too bad. We'll be so overworked with the festival and all... you might want to take that offer.” Why – oh – why did Lily lace every word with innuendo? She cackled as she hopped down from the table and wandered towards the door. “A girl'll be 'round later with the money!” As she left, Leander sighed in relief and rubbed at his forehead.

Women. He definitely wasn't going to help them while the celebrations were on. Definitely. (Even when a small part of him reluctantly reminded him that he said that last time.)
The OOC seems to be in the interest check section :s
Malphael perched on the edge of a rooftop, the night sky's distinct shade of brown-orange hanging above him. Cities and their light pollution, he scoffed, rubbing some feeling back into his fingertips. While he wasn't a near-invulnerable angel anymore with their resistance to the cold, he wasn't so weak as to get hypothermia from the wind after only three hours. “See anything yet?” he asked, turning slightly.

Evangeline was bundled up in jackets and jumpers having been told days ago she would be going out for training. Obviously she knew that learning from the fallen angel involved standing on the highest building in an area, whipped by gusting gales and freezing altitudes. “No. I haven't seen anything since that five year old a few hours ago.”

“He was a sensitive! You weren't wrong!”

“And then you asked me what the correct reaction would be to an angel or demon picking a fight with me! How am I supposed to know?” Malphael merely shrugged in response, apathic to Evangeline's distress. She had to learn how to properly identify another sensitive from a distance at some point in her life – they usually dragged other, more powerful beings along with them.

The two were silent for a moment until Evangeline exclaimed, “There! With the tattoos!”

Malphael's nose wrinkled. Were those wards? He wasn't half surprised his sensitive could pick her out in that case. “C'mon, we're going down to the street level. I want to see.” The back of his neck prickled with anxiety and a feeling that something was definitely, definitely wrong.
It's NaNoWriMo -- you're excused ;P
Siobhan smiled at Kyle and reclaimed her tie back from the tree. "We can make up in detention," she said. "Bonded by a combined hatred of Snape? Or--"

She peered out behind the tree as a lone Slytherin unidentifiable at this distance started to walk around the lake too. She continued, "Or we could have a duel at midnight, almost get caught by Filch and 'make up'. But that's the Gryffindor way."

Ducking back behind the tree as if it was one of those Muggle spy novels as her mother used to read, Siobhan began the long, arduous process of tying her hair back up in a scrunchie. "I'm more worried about how we can meet up. The Slytherins always come out to the lake after lunch. Any ideas for new places?"
Hi! PM me if you're interested in any of this! (Or post here so I can PM you.)
CURRENTLY CRAVING: Sword Art Online, The Walking Dead

ABOUT ME
I'm (sort of) new to forum RP and just getting into the 1x1 section; however, I do have RP experience in video games like WoW so I'm not completely hopeless. Although I am a girl in real life, I prefer to play male characters and my favourite female ones usually tend to turn out particularly butch.

My post lengths vary wildly from four to ten to fifteen paragraphs, and I also tend to mimic others when it comes to that – I'll write as much as you want to! I live quite a busy life but will always make an effort to post once per day for casual standard ones. Higher ones may require more time per post. I can RP in threads, PMs, or on occasion TitanPad and the like.

PAIRINGS, ROMANCE AND SMUT
I am all for romance, MxF, FxF and MxM alike, and I am specifically looking for romance in my RPs. I'd prefer to know before the RP starts what 'sort' we're going for. I'd prefer one without smut (and will actively avoid it unless it is unavoidable). Sexual situations, perhaps, and heavy flirtation/intimacy but I'd like a tasteful fade to black before anything extremely M-rated starts.
FANDOMS RP
I like to RP with original characters rather than established ones. NOW RPs CANONS AS WELL, BUT ONLY OTPs. Furthermore, I find most 'slice of life' plots quite dull – action and adventure is where it's at! Here are some of my ideas, but most of them need a bit of brainstorming. *** = Ideas I really want to do!

After Siobhan had swiftly finished off her lunch, she watched Kyle carefully as he too seemed in a hurry to finish up. Walking about the tables the long way around so as to wander past her brother, she overheard a snippet of Alistair's conversation with Maggie that seemed like he was nonchalantly asking her to accompany him to the Slughorn party. The Gryffindor stifled a smile. She couldn't wait to tell her best friend.

Siobhan slipped out of the Great Hall far too early to go to class, turning the corner out to the lake. She knew the Slytherin upper years liked to hang out there but she figured they could find somewhere to talk quietly. Sure enough, on the far side of the lake -- close to where they had been yesterday -- was a small outcropping of trees that should shroud them from view, if only for a few minutes. She tied her tie around the branch of the tree as a marker, hoping that Kyle would follow her before the bell rang. They had to arrange a subtler meeting place.
It's fixed, at least for me ^.^
Interested!
Siobhan had begun to violently crush the snake fangs required for the potion with the mortar and pestle when Yvette -- who had been slicing the pungous onions -- looked up from her meticulous work with a nervous smile. "So did you and Kyle get into a fight?"

The Gryffindor paused, realising that the powder inside the bowl was as fine as it could be. Quietly, she mumbled, "Yeah. Just a bit." She poured the snake fangs in and started to stir, and the rest of the potion was made under an impenetrable silence.

Just as they had taken the potion off the fire to add the porcupine quills, the muggleborn added, "I'm sure you'll make up soon." Siobhan didn't want to respond and thankfully didn't get a chance to as Slughorn meandered over to them.

"Quite excellent! There has been a lot of good potion-making in this class today," he called out. Turning to Yvette, he ordered, "Now wave your wand above the mixture to finish it." Siobhan could tell when he hadn't left the table that he was going to speak to her again with an internal groan of dread. She'd forgotten about it, but Snape's detention had perfect timing. What a shame. "Ah, Miss MacFusty, about the get-together of students on Friday..."

"Unfortunately I can't make it, professor, but I'm sure I'll be able to attend another time!" Siobhan watched as Yvette was forced to bottle their potion on her own. "I think Alistair might be going, though!" That seemed to settle Professor Slughorn and he continued on his walk around the classroom. The bell couldn't have rung fast enough -- Siobhan was already packed up and out the door to The Great Hall by the time it did.
