I'm also excited. Looking forward to it!
Siobhan gnawed on her lip, hair frazzled and tie coming undone as she waited outside the Defense classroom on Friday morning for a double period. She was sure Snape wouldn't let Kyle move from their seat down the front -- next to her -- but if he did... if he did...

Well, she might cry. It was the only class where she got to sit next to her best friend in the world now that Potions had her working with Yvette.

It had been a long week. Far too long. She had barely finished her essays in time, hopefully to an acceptable standard, but all of the classes seemed somewhat lacking. Care of Magical Creatures was downright disappointing. Where were the dragons, the ashwinders, the kelpies? The few brief times she had managed to meet up with Kyle in empty classrooms were hardly long enough, usually during lunch only. She had to wonder about her brother's motives: was it worth this unhappiness?

Just before the bell rang, she carefully went inside and took her previous seat down the front of the class. Siobhan left her bag off the seat just in case Kyle decided to (or was forced to by the professor to) sit there.
Jun nodded slowly, rising from his chair with intentions of going towards the bartender to see about renting a room. After a moment of hesitation, however, he asked, "Can we take the kid with us?" The swordsman fiddled with the hem of his shirt. "If he was trained, he would be... useful."

As he wandered back to the bar, taking out another few coins (reluctantly, as he'd already spent more than he bargained for) to pay for his room, Jun kept a careful eye on Magrus, wondering whether or not he should tell him about the earthbender.

No. He had to keep some things up his sleeve for later, just in case he was found out for being a firebender. It was enough reason for them to lynch him, he knew.
Suyin pouted half-heartedly, knowing that her brother was right. "I suppose so... when you put it that way, I must agree." She opened the door, peering at the troops outside briefly. "But. We'll take a squad of four." Hastily, she added, "Four excluding us. So six. More people attracts more attention, and if they make a chokepoint in the passages..." She shrugged.

Really, Suyin didn't know why Ran preferred cautious tactics over aggressive ones -- risky ones. Sometimes (most of the time, as General Zhang's children) it payed off. Plus, there was something exciting about the prospect of being held hostage and having to escape. Solo. It was like one of the fantasy tales her carers had taught her as a child; it could be made into a tapestry!

Stepping outside, she called, "I'll assemble a squad. Can you take care of ordering the rest and meet me when we're about to disembark?" Quickly, she spotted the female First Officer who she definitely wanted in the tunnels with them and chased after her.
Sure! Will work on a timeskip to Friday when I get home.
Interested.
"And there's your sister, too. I'll be go and be decoy." She rolled her eyes. "See ya later, Kyle. I hope you get out of this okay."

Siobhan rubbed her chin before stepping out from behind the tree, ruffling her hair nonchalantly and faking a yawn -- it almost looked as if she had been sleeping behind there for the short time that lunch had been going on. She could hear her brother from a mile away, as loud as any Gryffindor as he seemed to be... begging? "C'mon, McCarthy, it'll be fun! We'd get to watch the night watching Slughorn squirm at the thought of the Dark Lord with you around..."

As the Gryffindor approached, he shamelessly continued. "And I already checked -- he's accepting plus ones." Running a hand through his hair, Alistair turned to his little sister as if she had no hope of realising what was going on. Siobhan grinned wickedly with the new information to tease her brother with at home. "What's up? I heard you got into a fight. Don't ask how -- I just know."

Siobhan darted over to him, caring little about the small gang of Slytherins who seemed on edge with her presence (again). She whispered in his ear, "Kyle's doing what you want him to do. He got a detention with Snape." She watched as the cogs turning in her brother's brain ground to a halt.

He snorted humourlessly for the crowd. "Well, she sounds like a right... annoyance," he said, louder. "For what it's worth, you have my permission to get into a fight. I won't tell Father." Siobhan was quickly turned and shoo'd on her way, but not before she heard a "Now, where were we..?" directed at Maggie. As she turned into the castle on her way to Charms, she hoped Kyle slipped away easy enough.

NAME: Malcolm Carver-Bell

AGE: 18

UNIQUE QUALITY:
Projection – The ability to separate his consciousness from his body and explore the world around himself without moving a muscle as he is in a disembodied form. Typical uses of it include gathering information with no possible way to learn it naturally (spying) and moving small objects with sufficient willpower, almost like a 'poltergeist'.

WEAKNESSES:
Vulnerable – While his consciousness is far away from his body (out of sight of it) he cannot see what is going on, leaving his physical form wide open to attack. In addition to this, it is very difficult to control his body while not inside it and requires great concentration otherwise he will appear to freeze where he sits or stands.

Waking Up – There is a distinct possibility that if he slips out of his body while asleep, he may require an external source to jolt him awake otherwise he is stuck or 'locked out' of his own form. Furthermore, Malcolm suffers from insomnia, mostly because of the crippling fear that he will never wake up – he is near constantly tired.

Radius – The distance he can travel with his consciousness alone is determined by how well he knows the area but is generally less than a mile around him. In the case of Mary St. Jude, his mind cannot leave the building.

PERSONALITY:
Lethargic, rarely moves or attempts to do anything as he prefers to live his life with the freedom of movement that projection allows him. He is intelligent, cunning, and uses his ability for anything he can think of – he's almost addicted to the power of it. His morals are a tad more... flexible than a stable person's; lying and cheating are things he feels little remorse for doing. Even so, he is loyal, believing that debts must be repaid and friendships honoured.

BIO:
– Malcolm Carver-Bell was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as the only legitimate heir to the Carver lineage and its fortune. His mother, Jocelyn Carver, died only a few months after his birth but not before she specified all of her inherited wealth to go to Malcolm alone, preventing her husband of the middle-class Bell family from stealing it after his infidelity came to light. He has multiple half-siblings, all of whom got more love and affection from their father than he did.

– In his early school career (up until high school), he was a full A student, lauded by his teachers and inspiring envy in his peers. He didn't make many friends, which only gave him more time to study in an attempt, however misguided, to make his father proud. By the time he realised how impossible that dream was, he had already been foisted off to his elderly aunt's estate and her ruthlessly cold, old-fashioned care. It was during this time that his ability surfaced; he found himself locked in the house – in his room – for most of the day and so wished to see the outside... a wish that actually turned into a strange reality.

– Malcolm was caught when, in his first year at a prestigious university, he began to cheat on his exams. Now that he was free from under the iron heel of his family, he could slack off and forget about studying, especially when he could simply travel to the professor's office during the night and search for paperwork and answer schemes all without leaving a trace. His 100% scores were suspicious but without sufficient evidence he was not apprehended, not until friends began asking him for study guides and 'how he did it' to which he bragged about being able to separate his mind and body. Not his smartest move, as he was taken to Mary St. Jude about six months ago without warning.
Interested!
It's okay! Take your time :D
