Like Jig, however, I'm not sure what an 'energy creature' is - you'd need to sell it to me as to whether it could fit into the HP universe believably. Although I should add that any creatures already existing in the mythos are allowed (that make sense) ^^

An AU Harry Potter RP

The date is December 1st, 1999. Exactly a year since our last hope, Albus Dumbledore, was murdered and what remained of the Order of the Phoenix torn to shreds. We can no longer stand in the protective shadow of a great hero, openly speaking out against the Dark Lord's new, unopposed dictatorship.

Voldemort's tyranny has not lessened over the past twelve months – no, it has only grown more daring. 'Blood traitors' previously scorned but left untouched have been disappearing. Previously integrated Muggleborns vanishing and leaving only dust behind them. Something is going on in the Dark Lord's home, Castle Hogwarts, and we must find out what before it is too late.

We are the The Ashes – a rebel group operating under an ambiguous shade of grey on the moral spectrum – and we are the last hope for the survival of the magical world.

Hello! I've seen a lot of Hogwarts slice of life RPs around and thought I could maybe come up with something a bit different and more action-oriented – that's how this plotbunny was born. Basically in this alternate universe, Harry Potter was never born/died in the initial attack on Godric's Hollow so Voldemort's rise to power was much simpler.

It's really going to be OC centric with an adult cast of characters going out on various missions – sabotage, theft, rescue and so on and so forth – while including all the neat magic that the Harry Potter universe has to offer. I'm also playing with the idea of custom Horcruxes (ones not in the canon universe).

Well, this is as far as I got with the planning, but if there's enough people wanting in, I'll work on an OOC soon complete with timeline and banners and all that jazz! So would any of y'all be interested in it?

EDIT - Flippin' ignore the fact I can't spell incantatem to save my life.

EDIT 2 - Another possible option would be having it set in roughly 2010 (or present day), with Harry Potter having had existed but died during DH.

ALLEGIANCE: None (still mildly inclined to help Phoenixis)

WEAPON: A handsome bow personally handcrafted by Seth himself. It has crude, decorative pictures of bird Pokemon etched into the wood.

POKEMON:

MOVE-SET: Fly, Brave Bird, Roost, Aerial Ace

APPEARANCE:

Seth is short in stature at only 5'5" and appears much younger and more boyish than his true age due to his delicate, almost effeminate facial features. He has narrow, bird-like amber eyes with excellent long-distance eyesight at the detriment to his ability to see things close to him clearly. As a result, they seem to flicker from side to side or cloud over when talking to someone. It is not uncommon to see him covered in dirt or with feathers sticking to him.

Just like the Pokemon he follows dutifully, Seth does look particularly bird-like with unruly orange hair that fans itself out behind him like feathers and purposefully sharp fingernails to act as talons. He lacks muscles for the sole purpose of being easy to carry in flight with an almost stick-like figure. As far as armour goes, the mask that he wears to prevent chafing from the wind is made from the scratched plates of a skarmory.

PERSONALITY:
Quiet and socially awkward due to a great amount of his time spent in the company of Pokemon, Seth has never really had a chance to befriend other humans. He tends to forget the manners and just general pleasantries he learned early in life in favour of brutal, straight-to-the-point honesty. What even is small talk?

With most of his life having been outside the boundaries of civilisation, he prefers to live an altruistic lifestyle without greed or much wealth, living off the land and befriending the creatures of the wild. Due to this, Seth is often restless and easily bored. Without travel, he has little else to do with his time and so whenever he is struck by a bout of wanderlust he follows it to the ends of the earth.

HISTORY:
Seth was both blessed and cursed with his family, a group of bird-Pokemon fanatics who ran a hillside aviary in Phoenixis. On one hand, he had companions practically forced upon him to train with, on land and sky, and from a young age experienced first-hand the uses they had as messengers and hunters. It was on his fifth birthday when he was given an egg of his own, taken from a pidgeot with a prestigious heritage that the family kept, and when it hatched he named the pidgey Belle. Living in the aviary with his parents and a few other caretakers spoiled him for any of the other pokemon types - birds were the best.

Unfortunately, not everyone took kindly to Featherheart Tower's residents as two out of the five adults were morphs; one of which was his mother. It was burned to the ground when he was eleven years old and he had to flee, not knowing whether any of the Pokemon or humans got out alive. While the experience was traumatic (and well-known throughout the kingdom for a tragedy), it was a turning point in Seth's life as he began to live off the land, studying and befriending various species in their natural environment.

For a time, he was well-known in the kingdom for his violent activism against those who would hunt the Farfetch'd to near extinction for their flavour. Now, his righteous anger has cooled off and he is currently on a journey to hunt down rumours of a legendary bird of ice and snow in hopes of begging for its help in quieting the conflict between the two countries.

Darkness Below

Logan barely moved as the man only a few metres away from him vanished into thin air, almost like magic. In fact, his breath caught in his throat as he stared at the empty space as if expecting a great reveal that it was all a trick. The whole situation seemed too surreal to him; amnesia, authoritarian voiceovers, cryptic gifts... A girl nearly hyperventilating a bit further away.

Yeah, he wasn't going anywhere near that. Something about fear and panic spreading like wildfire under the right situations. Mass hysteria. Assuming that the man had died... well, he didn't want to be the next one to be torn away from reality. That would be nasty. Carefully weaving around the shocked and prone bodies of those around him, he ended up moving to the front quickly enough to hear the PA system stutter on. "Enter."

Once he was entering the empty room, he noticed terrified-girl and another one trying to calm her down. His mouth opened and closed as if trying to think of the right words, but it was better not to risk it.
